I've been talking to Jesse for a long time now and finally I decided to take him up on his offer to get girls.

I was with a friend who couldn't decide whether he wanted to stay in Placers or go out with a couple of ladies. I asked Jesse to hook me up with a couple. Naturally, I wanted to meet them first. He said that they would drive down by the clubs and then I could decide. By the time they got there, my friend made up his mind. He wanted to stay. So I met the ladies and found one pretty cute. Jesse originally said $80 for an hour, everything included. When I was ready to go he then said $80 for them and $10 for him. I gave him $90 and he ended up keeping $20 for himself. Before closing the deal I said that I only wanted one girl because that was all I could spend. He talked to them and he said no problem. Then I verified that there would be no other charges and that they would give me a ride back afterward. Again, no problem. I knew I was taking a few chances, but I figured this was the time to check it out, so off I went with the two girls.

After a few minutes in the car they started asking me if I wanted two ladies, only $50 more. I said no thanks, only one. They spent the remaining 5 minutes trying to talk me into this. It got old real fast. Eventually, we stopped by this place and the driver went to see if there was anyone home. Then we went to another house and she parked down the street and walked down to check it out. I was getting ready for a set up then, thinking that she might have some guys jump me. She came back and we went to the house. Judging by the pictures it was her place. The car was hers also. She was not the girl I chose to be with. She kept asking if I wanted another girl and I said "no more money". She ended up getting real pissed.

Finally, after much time wasted I got down to business with the other girl. Although she was attractive, she was completely uninvolved in the act. It felt like necrophilia for god's sake. The other girl just sat on the edge of the bed eating her dinner and pouting. After a while I didn't care how much time I had, I was ready to get the hell out. Now the girl with the car told me to walk back. We were about 3-4 miles from the border. I pretended to speak much less spanish than I do and tried to get a ride back. She asked for $20 or I would walk. I was pissed, but I didn't need to dig myself a deeper grave so I reached into a pocket and pulled out $6 saying that this was all I had. Actually, I had a hell of a lot more but I wasn't going to let this bitch know that. She took the money and finally I got back to Placers.

I found Jesse in Lord Black and he was amused by my story. Needless to say, I was not happy. The whole experience didn't surprise me much, but after talking to Jesse for so long and getting his assurances I figured it was worth checking out. He said he couldn't give me any money back because he spent it already. Yeah. He offered to make it up to me next time, but he couldn't say how he would do that.

Personally, I won't deal with him anymore. I often bring friends down to Nogales with me and Jesse is aware of that. Of course, he's not going to get their business now either. That's too bad. If he would deal straight he could make a killing setting up visitors.

I ran into the famous Jesse outside of Placer's. He's a twenty-something, short, bald, vato-looking dude - speeks good English. He'll try to pimp with every gringo who walks by. I got his phone number, just for the hell of it. If there's a good pimp in Nogales, I don't know of one. I think the odds of getting anywhere near "lucky" with a pimp are long, indeed, in Nogales. My theory? There's a good reason these chicas are not working in the bars...

Translation please: "vato"

I've seen this term used often on this board. What does "vato" mean?

I'm not exactly sure (that's why I used it...) - but I think "vato" means roughly "gangsta" or "tough guy". I'm assuming a vato is one of those 23,000,000 Mexican dudes with: dark blue denim baggy pants, white t-shirt and shaved head. Am I missing anything?
