The Air Asia flight from BKK to Jakarta (which can be booked directly on their website) went smooth as well.

Wicked Willy picked me up at the airport and off we went to the hotel to check-in and for a night out.

I stayed at the Novetel in Mangaa Duu at a nighly rate of $660K (at the time $55 USD). Just like last year I had luck and was upgraded to the exective level floor. The room was very nice.

I particularly like Blok M, so that is where we headed. We hit a couple of bars, the first one being Top Gun. Ended up talking to quite a hot one, but she was absolutely wasted. WW and I both agreed that this could only end up one way - I get back to the hotel and best case scenerio she would sleep, or worst case vomit all over the place. Not wanting to take chance we headed over to My Bar. I hit it off with a girl and we started talking and kissing. In the meantime drunk girl entered My Bar and started standing close to get my attention. I ended up talking to her and both girls knew each other. With both in my arms i decided to just take both home with me after being sweet talked from both sides. Again, I had a price in mind for all night without discussing it advance - 300K (about $26USD). I figured that drunk girl would probably go to sleep anyway once we got back to the hotel, but that it would cost me only $26 therefore it was an overall low risk deal.

After all of us got comfortable in bed, drunk girl started to sleep a little and My Bar girl and I started things along. She asked for a condom and was a little too professional for my taste...we did the deed, but suprisingly drunk girl woke-up and wanted to some action as well. I was very pleased.... afterwards, for some reason that changed the attitude of My Bar girl, who then passionately started kissing and fucking me (this time bareback) We went on for awhile (It takes me a little to rebound and shoot another load :-) before finally going to sleep. Early in the morning My Bar girl woke me up and again we went at it... back to sleep, and once we all finally woke-up in the afternoon she was horny again. Wow, not sure what the hell happened to her..but it was all good. Drunk girl was so so when she woke-up, we only kissed a little but I was happy either way. She told us that she could not sleep very well and was tired because I was humping the other girl all night long. Good excuse :-) I did not ask, but paid them both them $300K. Each was ok and we exchanged phone numbers.

My trip to Jakarta was short, only 4 nights. WW showed me around to a few other places, including Crown Disco. I like Crown Disco - a big Indo nightclub with two different ambiences. One live music place with popular American Music and one large techo/elecronic music nightclub. In Crown Disco I ran into a girl from last year..... I decided to go for the sure thing and took her to the hotel with me. A little older (early 30's), but a solid performer I was happy. Decided to pay her the same amount I had paid her last year - 200K.

The next evening I was on my own as WW had a commitment, so I headed over to Blok M again. I know there are mixed reports over this place, but I simply like it. I like playing pool with the girls, cheaper drinks, and live music - all that can be found in Blok M. That night My Bar had a show for the "My Bar girl" contest....

but I ended up going home with the girl from the first night....again, fantastic session.

The next day WW and I went to a great Spa

The last night in Jakarta before my trip back to BKK I once again ran into the girl from the first night in My Bar. Not having any intentions of repeating with her on my last night(plus she was on the rag by then) I decided to have a few beers with her and then split. She tried desperately to stay with me and even told me that I would not have to pay. I declined and decided to leave. She mentioned that she would also go home, but on the way out she again tried to convince me for her to stay with me since she wanted us to sleep together, but I lied to her about being tired and that I would call her the next day to get together (Impossible, since I would be back in Thailand)

As she got into a taxi, I also faked walking to a taxi and this where Karma got me.....not once, but twice that evening.

Once her taxi was out of sight I started to walk back to my Bar when I fell into a big hole in the sidewalk all the way up to my waist. Imagine one leg on the sidewalk, another waist deep in hole with water up to my knees. With a few people around me laughing - mind you, not being concerned or offering to help - I somehow managed to walk away with no broken bones or sprains. I ended up having a bunch of scratches on my arms and hands, plus one tennis shoe and jeans leg was wet. Instead of going back to my hotel, I went back into My Bar and after yielding a few questions as to why my jeans on one leg were wet I started talked to one hotty

In the meantime another one was flirting with me the entire time i was in there and I decided to go with her instead.....

Once back to the hotel she insisted on being paid first....I told her I never pay first and she tried to convince me otherwise. Well, I showed her the door and in shock she left...once that mood was set there was no turning back for me.

So my last night in Jakarta certainly was very interesting to say the least.

Overall, excluding the last experience, I really like Jakarta. It does not feel touristy and is a little more difficult to explore one your own without someone with the local knowledge. This, however, is part of the charm.

Next time, however, I will most likely not stay in Mangaa Duu again. During the day time there is simply nothing to do. Instead I will most likely look for something in Kemang.

Well you have me somewhat flabbergasted. Gobsmacked maybe. You claim that during the day there is simply nothing to do, and you were staying at the Novotel. You were in ground zero of some of the best daytime mongering anywhere and you claim there is nothing to do?!!!! Kota Indah? Travel? Sands? Bintang Mewar? Sierra? TCs? Alexis Spa? Nothing to do????!!!!!! OMG.

Ok, now that I have picked myself up off the floor... Yes, if all you do is spend your time at Blok M, then you should really change hotels to the southern part of the city.

rsrs....well, from a mongering perspective there is plenty to do...very true. Massage Parlors, Spa's, etc, but I am rather talking about non-monger bars, restaurants, and places to hang out. Yes, I have been to the places you mention (i.e. Travel, Sands, etc), all of them I really loved but I was referring to just plain old bars to hang out. And yes the arguement can be made that the Novetel is attached to a shopping mall, but I am not talking about those kind of places or the local places close by. On my last trip I experienced many of those places plus more with Monger X and Wicked Willy.

Thanks for the report and sorry we couldn't meet up this time. I agree the Novotel (or anywhere else in north Jakarta) makes no sense if you are going to spend all your time in Blok M, Kemmang etc.. in the south. Sounds like Blok M worked well for you.

Ceenotes, where you stay in Jakarta depends on your preferences. In the south, you are going to find a scene that looks and acts more like you are use to in LOS and PI (lots of venues oriented to westerners.) More of the girls are FL'ers and LT is more the typical mongering unit of transaction. In the North, the venues are much more Asian oriented. The focus is much more on-site ST. The girls in the north are typically much younger and less likely to have kids. IMHO, the girls are typically much better looking and also offer much better service (of course the 6th floor Melawai not with standing.) In the North, you can always find some freelancers working at any of the numerous big techno discos. I have found that these girls are usually older, demand more money, and service is inconsistent.

One of the biggest negatives in Jakarta is the horrible traffic. So if you stay in the North going to the Southside venues can involve a sucky long ride, and vice versa if you stay in the South.

I sure hope that the next time you are there...then I will most likely reconsider the Novotel again. It just takes a little more hand holding to find the different places close by the Novotel. Since this time in the daytime I was mostly on my own, the venues oriented to westerners in Kemmang, etc, are a little easier to get oriented to. Plus I do like LT.

I was quite impressed with all of the options available close to the Novotel when you were around. There seemed to be hundreds of them... this time I was not so motivated to find them on my own, especially since I slept until late afternoon each day. Then in the evening, after dinner, I was drawn to a familiar and easy to get to place like Blok M, especially since I only had a few days in Jakarta.

The Novotel is certainly a wonderful hotel in itself!

Sorry, Murasaki, but, re: daytime mongering, certainly ain't SHIT to do between 3 AM and 1 PM besides hope to catch a crumb off Mx's plate.

Of course you can build a rolodex and hope to find a kind soul to arrange/translate a pre-shift hookup, or an after shift allnighter, but otherwise, Jakarta's a 4 PM-11 PM on site short time game. That's worse coverage than THAILAND?

When THAILAND has you beat for mongering 15 hours a day, you know it ain't a perfect destination?

Porker good venues in Jakarta start rolling at 10 AM with the Melawai 6th floor. In the north, you can hit Sierra, Anggrek, and tons of the massage parlors starting at 11AM. I KNOW I am much more likely to get a good screwing hottie at noon in Jakarta than I am in AC or Pattaya. Sure by 3AM the last fishbowl is closed in Kota, but you can still get freelancers from discos until the wee wee hours.

Yes there are some clubs open in AC between 6AM and 1PM, but have really taken a look let alone pulled someone from one of the venues in that time frame? It's very scary!

There is no denying that Jakarta (especially up north) is far from the ideal place into an establishment and gab a cheap LT off the shelf. However, I think you are off the mark in dissing Jakarta for the daytime action. IMHO it's the best part of the place.

Truth is where is there a place in Asia, that offers a lot of great mongering from 6AM-12PM?

Santos St. type places still going strong in AC. Looks vary, and there are almost NEVER stunners, but it's about the same as it has always been (the bars on the left side of the street have been replaced/relocated behind the Orchid Inn), and the convenience cannot be beat.

6 AM? I remember having a hard time getting laid in N. Jakarta as early as midnight, actually (I was indeed bad at finding those disco freelancers), and taking a two-hour round trip pilgrimage to the Melawai is the OPPOSITE of convenience.

I've always had a great time in Jakarta, hope no one gets me wrong, but unless it's "primetime", I've found the options limited, or, as MX mentions about the traffic, inconvenient. Obviously I don't have Mongerx's experience with the massage places. Mx, do they still operate with the M.O. where you have to pick a girl sight unseen?

Of course I don't think anyone PREFERS shopping at odd hours. I personally like the concept of reasonably priced LT, something I've found lacking in the venues I've been to in Jakarta.

The Blok M prices here sound better than I remember, though. Price usually wasn't a reason to take issue with that place (though I got burned for not establishing a price/agenda up front several times).

I always put a price threshold in my mind and some rules. These seem to work no matter where I monger. If a girl right of the bat quotes ST, then I am not interested as I think she will want to rush out. If she quotes to high, then I get pissed and don't want to be with her. If no price is agreed upon, then I go with the price that I have in my head either from research or from past experience. This seems to work for me. I have even gone as far as just leaving enough money in my wallet to pay for the price that I preset in my head. So, I do not know if everyone will have the same experience in Blok M like me, but more power for the girl if she can get more money out of the guy! I know I would try if I was in her place!

Porkster, I don't consider 3 am to late morning to be "daytime." Jakarta rocks from noon to 6. That is probably when I have done 80% of my sessions in that city, girlfriend aside. Pretty much everybody is open by 1 pm, many with very strong lineups; and pretty much everyone has their starting lineup in place by 3 pm at the latest.

I like to hang @ Stadium 4th fl disco (which had FL gals up until about 5am-6am). 3d floor gals often go home about 3am. Plus, I noticed many South Jakarta gals started sauntering into Stadium after 1am when their clubs were closing, so I hit up some off duty gals as well. I usually like to sleep from about 7am to about noon and then off to Sierra or Melawai or saunas.

Yes, respectfully, FUCKING WAY. I don't know why you are disputing simple facts. Most of the venues in north Jakarta are open by 1 pm. Why do you dispute this? MX said in a post above that many are open by 11 am, and you didn't dispute that.

And yes, many places will have some strong lineups in place. No sleep walking involved.

Your experience in the area seems to be quite limited, so what makes you an expert to say I'm factually wrong? I'm not the person who brings sand from another country to that beach. I'm in those venues actually mongering when I'm there.

I agree with Murasaki. From a mongering perspective there seem to be plenty of daytime options available. I remember last year with MX it seemed like there was a never ending list of places to go during the daytime for ST. Also he had a consistent flow of cuties in his hotel room in the daytime before we headed out for the day.

But the big 'but' is that it helps tremendously - I would say it is almost mandatory in North Jakarta - to visit these places for the first, and maybe even second visit, with someone familiar with the venues, or at the very minimum clear directions to get there. They are not located in obvious places or close to each other. It is not in your face like Pattaya (where it almost slaps you in your face and pulls you in automatically :-), for example.

In my case, I was not complaining about mongering options in North Jakarta but rather non-mongering hang-out places. Aye, I probably should not admit this without getting publically flogged but I like hanging out (occasionally!!!) at western places when I travel. I like being able to play pool, listen to music, and eat food that is familiar to me.

From a mongering perspective and daytime options, I remembered some of the places (like the ones close to Sparks Hotel and the mall), Travel, but some of the other places I visited on my last trip to Jakarta and with MX are a different story. I don't think I could find them on my own.

Since as a matter of habit I tend to sleep until 3pm anyway (sometimes later) and it was a short trip, it was just easiest to stick to the easy to get to places. I was hoping to go back for a longer period, maybe 2 weeks, next year. If i do, I will mostly certainly need to learn more about how to get to the places in North Jakarta.

Jakarta is great.....while not as much fun as Thailand (i.e. Pattaya in particular), mongering wise I think it is much better. Thailand feels so overrun with sex tourists....In Bangkok and Pattaya there probably is a 50/50 ratio tourist to Thai (ok, maybe I am exaggerating, but that is how it feels). While in North jakarta I can walk through the Mangaa Du mall and feel like an alien....the only western person, people looking and smiling...quite awesome
