RT Gooch, thank you for all of the information that you have provided on this destination.
I first went to Peru in January of 2007. I initially planned to start in Lima and spend most of my days with the non-pros and then at night hit the numerous destinations that Lima has to offer. The original plan was to spend about 2 1/2 weeks between Lima and Cusco however it turned into a month long trip.
I arrived in Lima and all of RT's reports helped me to chose the right line in customs and the red light green light system was exactly how he described. I felt like I had been there before. I caught a taxi into the center of Miraflores and found a mid priced hotel that would do just fine. Hotel Esperaza was the name and it was about 35-40 dollars a night and just a couple of blocks to the south of Parque Kenedy.
I spent most of the first day with a girl that I had met online and we went around Lima enjoying the food and each other, however I couldn't wait to tell her good night and hit Tequila Rocks.
It was still early when we said goodbye and so I made my way over to Calle de Pizza. I was walking up and down looking for any action but nothing was really going on. I had a drink and listened to some live music. I arrived at Tequila's around 10 and there wasn't a lot going on at that time but it was my first trip and so I wanted to get settled in and just relish where I was for a while. As the night went on the place started to fill up and I chatted with a couple of girls but no one really caught my eye. I think timid would be a good word to explain how I was feeling. It was all new, I had never done anything like this before. I had been to Europe before but this was completely different and my level of Spanish at the time was poor at best. The whole thing was new, exciting, and different.
After people watching for a while and just enjoying the whole experience, a nice girl came up and we started talking. She was ok, and there were certainly better looking girls there but this one was nice and was willing to do all of the things I wanted, so we left. We made it back to my hotel and all in all the session ok. Nothing special, oral was ok, sex lacked real passion but it was the first time I participated in our hobby, so there was more of a feeling of, well I got that one out of the way. I think I ended up paying $60 for a couple of hours. By this time I was tired and went to bed for the night.
The next day I met up with another non-pro and spent most of the day with her. We checked out Baranco and had some good food and soon enough we said goodbye and I was back on the prowl.
That night I went back to Tequila's and got settled in. I was really just enjoying the atmosphere when I saw a tight little spinner that looked amazing. She was with a group of guys. She looked amazing but was clearly occupied so I kept looking. Well as luck will have it she freed up as the group that she was hanging out with and drinking left without her. Well not wanting to miss an opportunity I grabbed her attention as she passed by and we started talking. I told her that I was waiting for the chance to talk to her all night. She was very friendly and after a couple of minutes we were making out. It was clear that she was well on her way to a good buzz but she after talking to one of her girlfriends who was occupied with another guy she told me that they were going to leave and go to a club and wanted to see if I wanted to go. Sounded good to me so off we went.
We walked over to Calle de Pizza and checked out a couple of bars before heading into one they liked. We weren't there for very long before she was ready to leave, so off we went. We got back to my hotel and at this point she wasn't just buzzed, now she was drunk. Not that it would take much to get this little spinner drunk but things were starting to go down hill. So we are in the hotel and after she went to the bathroom to throw up she lays down on the bed and passes out.
Now sure I know everyone will offer some insight into how this wasn't a good idea but it was my second day. I am kind of stuck now though because it is 3 or 4 in the morning and I am supposed to meet a girl at 9 in the morning for breakfast and I would like to go to sleep. I have a drunk chick passed out in my bed and it wouldn't be right to wake her up and just send her on her way because now she is well beyond able to function right so I let her sleep for a while. It was around 5 that I woke her up and I was able to write down her address through the slurred speech. Since she was up I helped her get dressed, she had a great body too, and then we went down stairs to get a taxi. So here we are, I have a drunk chick passed out in the back of a taxi with an address to a chick's house in a city I know nothing about. To say I was uncomfortable at this point would be an understatement. The taxi driver assured me that it was a fairly safe neighborhood that we were going to. It turns out she lived in an apartment complex in Surco and after waking her up again to find out which building she lived in we were able to get her up and to her building. Fortunately there was someone there at the building that knew her and offered to take her up to her apartment and that was good enough for me because I just wanted to get the hell out of there.
After 3 hours of sleep it was time to start my day but I ended up cutting my day short to take a nap that afternoon. That night I went out and was checking out the non-pro action in Parque Kenedy when I met her. I met a beautiful non-pro who was out with a friend of hers and they were going to go to a club. I was invited to come along and I was more than happy. We spent the night together talking and partying and it ended up being this chick that I would spend most of the remainder of my trip with.
That was basically the end of my mongering trip in Peru. I would end up spending some time Cusco. We went to all of the normal tourist destinations in Cusco and we went white water rafting in the Andes. I also went to a small town in the mountains outside of Cajemarca. All in all I would end up spending a month in Peru and would go back another 10 times to date. The majority of time was spent with the same girl.
Peru is a wonderful country with a ton of natural beauty. I have been to Cusco, Paracas, Cajemarca, Huaraz, Iquitos, and Lima. There is such diversity here but after traveling to other countries I have found that the quality of chick pales in comparison to most other South American destinations. The people here are very friendly and I love the country but for mongering there are better destinations. RT's reports have more details and provide great information if you are interested in Peru.
