So…

I finally have the time to write my trip report from the New Year’s Rio de Janiero trip. What a blast! I had started writing this while I was in Rio but my laptop had to be rebuilt when I got back and I forgot to back up the report. Oh, well.

I arrive in Rio the afternoon of Dec. 26. My mom was not pleased at all about me leaving home on Christmas night because that’s when the family gets together and talk about people. Hey, a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do. I got compadres to meet in Rio and ladies to please. See ya when I get back, Mom!!

I had previously arranged to share an apartment with Godfather. We always have a good time. Plus, we were meeting up with our other buddy, UWPhoto, later in the week AND meeting up with another CH member, Sandman. UWPhoto had talked this guy up pretty good, so I was a little anxious to meet him. I was not disappointed. You’ll see why later in this report.

We had gotten our apartment arranged through David Schneider of Gringo Management. David had informed me that everything was in readiness. I had a transfer from the airport waiting on me and the apartment was ready for us. Getting everything organized was relatively pain free. That is, until I got arrived in Rio.

I won’t rant about this long because it pisses me off so I will just list the things that went wrong and get on with the report.
1) There was no transfer waiting for me so I had to take a taxi.
2) There was no way for me to get into the apartment once I actually found it so I had to wander around for about 6 hours worrying about my luggage until I got in
3) Our “contact”, Asagai, was never reachable when we needed him.
4) Asagai, or as Godfather and I dubbed him, “Ass-Guy”, never owned up to his mistakes and was a definite bullshitter. Always talking out of his ass. You don’t run a successful business by avoiding owning up to problems in your organization. NOTHING was ever his fault. As you can tell, he pissed me off.

All these little things add up to one big pain in the ass for the one called “Kick Stand”. To David’s credit, he was not personally involved in the apartments because he doesn’t live in Rio. The problem is that Ass-Guy is giving his business a VERY bad rep. We had about 4 or 5 guys renting apartments from him and ALL of us had problems. David didn’t know that his operation was slowly being slowly screwed up by his partner.

David has tried to make amends and has apologized profusely, so I’ll reserve my judgment and give him another chance in March. But, I REFUSE to deal with Ass-Guy ever again.

Now…

Since I had to wait on Godfather to show up with a key to the apartment (I hoped), I figured that would go ahead and get the wick dipped since that what I was here for. Time to find Monte Carlo.

Monte Carlo was the place where I began my hobbyist career. Back in Feb. of 2002. I really liked that place. I go there this time and it’s kind of a letdown. The first girl that I saw was very attractive but she lacked in the performance area. Not memorable at all.

After Monte Carlo, I decided to head back and check on the apartment situation. The doorman was nice enough to watch my luggage. I come back and my luggage is gone. I figure that Godfather is here and he took my stuff up. I was right.

Turns out, Godfather had to wait almost and hour to get into the apartment AND we only had one key. This Ass-Guy is such a loser.

Well, we designate rooms and I take Godfather to Monte Carlo because we didn’t have any addresses to the other termas BECAUSE the internet connection that we were both promised was not working. It NEVER did the entire time we were there.

We get to Monte Carlo and Godfather is impressed with the way things work in termas even though he isn’t impressed with the selection of ladies. We both pick girls. I pick Bianca. A tall brunette with contacts. Attractive face. Light skin. We have a really good session. Like I remember. I get her number for future reference.

I think Godfather enjoyed his session. We meet up at the exit and head to get some food. We then decide to hit Help. The first time I went to Rio, I didn’t really understand how Help worked. Now, I do.

Godfather never ceases to amaze me. He’s right at home in Help. Now me, on the other hand…

I don’t like approaching women without a firm grasp of what I’m going to say. Language barrier doesn’t help. So, I chill and scope the talent. I notice one in particular. Long black hair, beautiful face, awesome body and a great dancer. I see her leaving so I figure I WILL get her before I leave. Oh, yes, she WILL be mine.

So, I continue to chill. Girls are approaching me but nothing that really interests me. I was already ahead of the game because I had seen to girls already and I had a good session. I decided I was going for a performer tonight.

That’s when Cicila approaches me. Short brunette that approaches me speaking English. She’s a little heavier than I like and has a decent face. She made me laugh and she can dance. She’ll do.

Godfather is in the apartment talking with his lady. VERY attractive girl. Sometimes, I hate him.

I have decided that I have a foolproof system for picking a good performer. I have picked yet another. Cicilia and I go to my room and get started. The girl is definitely about getting her sex on. Yeah. I tried David again and he came through. The apartment that SFHombre and I rented was spacious. It was clean and a few blocks from Help. The address was Rua Raimundo Correo 28.

That "Ass guy" was pathetic. I've dealt with a lot of bullshitters in my life but he was clearly one of the worst.

David clearly has some quality apartments but you just have to make sure on the front end you tell him you don't want any problems.

I went through John Thompson, everything worked out great.

There was another guy that a few of my friends deal with now for apt. I may try him next time, his name was something like Luzio
I think if your rent monthly it can be cheap as $R800-$R1000 for a nice 1 bed rm.
