Fascinated by Jonesie’s reports on Cuba, I decided to give Cuba a shot before Obama ruins the scene there by ending the embargo. Jonesie helped me out a lot, setting me up with my flight, an apartment, some of his contacts in Havana and even loaning me his Cuban phone. Jonesie is the best!

I flew to Cuba through Costa Rica, I arrived in CR on a Wednesday and flew to Havana the next day. I met up with Jonesie and he answered my newbie questions, and off I went. My flight to Havana was possibly the emptiest plane I’ve ever flown on in my life. It was literally at 20% capacity, and the flight was very smooth, albeit an hour late due to rain in San Jose.

I wonder if several years from now, I'll be whining like all the Veradero/Special Period mongers about how Cuba's ruined, etc...

By then, Caracas will be the new Medellin, and I'll be there with all the guys who used to tear up Havana, going on and on while a new crop of Cuba mongers are hitting the scene and lighting up the boards with honeys like these...
