Day 9: Subic
…got some money at SM Mall and head to bj row. Met KC. She’s cute and nice. Good listener. Killer hot pink highlights on her hair. Seems to like me, so I’ll take her to Subic. Its going to have to be by car. 10am and already spent $100. 2 barfines for 24 hours. We head to Tiger hotel and do the deed. I set up my camera. She doesn’t notice. Pretty decent fuck, but she doesn’t come. Apparently she only comes with a vibrator.

Subic Bay
…the Venetian only has deluxe and executive rooms available. Nice hotel, nicer rooms. Huge, soft, soft mattress. What a difference. Very classy for the price.

…there’s a beach up north next to Ocean Adventure, a mall, and the Boardwalk. We head to the beach. Our driver’s name is Joey. Nice young fella. Very professional. The beach is a dump. Barely as big as my house. There’s no one there. I ask Joey to turn around and go to Pier 1, the boardwalk. “Everything closed, sir” That’s ok, I don’t care. It’s a boardwalk. Theres bound to be something to see.

…eventually we call Joey and ask him to take us to Barreto. He says that’s where things are going on. And it hits me. We’re in Olongapo. There’s bound to be some cockfights going on. I ask Joey. “Now sir?” Yes! Now! The ride to the stadium is very cool. We’re in the middle of the mountains. We park and he comes with us. Thank God. I remember reading on a website that it is better to go with a local “so you don’t do something that will get you killed”
…Joey has lost 500 pesos (betting on the wrong rooster).
…next stop, a restaurant in Barreto called Mangos. I think Barreto would be a cooler place to hang out than Angeles. Its streets are a bit cleaner and wider. Plenty of restaurants, hotels and gogo bars or something close to it. This is where KC starts getting bored. I’m beginning to hate her constant texting. I forget she’s only 19.

…930pm. Woke her up. She has been sleeping like a log. She tries on different outfits on my command. Each one makes her look more like a hooker than the one before…not particularly a good thing.
Pier 1 has some of the very best live bands. The Philippines hands down has the best entertainers around. They do cover songs perfectly, down to the voices. Teriyaki chicken, 2 screwdrivers, 2 tequila, one rum and coke. Back at the hotel KC wants to fuck. She says she’s horny. I let her blow me. I’m a bit drunk. While we fuck I explain to her that I will call her every name and every insult that I can think of and not to take it personally. It turns me on. “Does your son know you’re a fucking whore?” I ask her as I thrust. She gives me a nervous smile.

Day 10: Subic to Angeles to Manila
…I should’ve heeded the old man’s advice and brought an older girl. This one sucks. She’s only 19. Now I know why the men walk ahead of their dates. They’re a bit embarrassed. I know I am. Girl almost half my age with pink hair looking like a hooker. Sheesh. Not good. Had to pay ten bucks for a towel KC stained with her hot pink hair. Oy vey. Waiting for the taxi, KC realizes its too late. She wants to go back to Angeles. If she’s late, she doesn’t get her cut of the barfine. I give her 1K pesos for her trouble. “What’s this for?...I barfine myself…” She worries too much.

…our Subic to Angeles driver is not allowed to taxi anyone, but this is the Philippines. They’re willing to take the risk for a few extra pesos. He is falling asleep at the wheel.
-Didn’t get any sleep last night? You ok?
-yes, ok sir.
-you can stop if you like, grab some coffee (this sounds so stupid now, we’re in the middle of the highway). You want me to drive?
He smiles.
–No sir, I OK…Sir, I have something to tell you –oh, shit- In Clark -he says- the pulis, they will ask if you pay for me. Just tell them this is a friend’s ride. The pulis lately have become funny, corrupt. –I understand now this is an illegal cab ride- One time they take two thousand from me.
-OK- I say- No problem.
Shit. Instantly I begin to think of stories and alibis.
-Officer, I don’t pay for this ride, it’s my best friend’s, you know Joel Lauigan? I send email to him and this driver magically appears!
Then I put P2,000 in my left pocket and imagine putting it in the officer’s hands.
-You are the reason the Philippines is the way it is.
Turned out there was no need to worry, we don’t encounter any problems.
Without much fanfare I ask the driver to pull over, pay him, and tell him to drop off KC anywhere she wants.
Good-bye- I tell her and tap her on the knee- take care. There just wasn’t any connection between us. Her texting got in the way.

8pm Airport
Been waiting at the airport for half an hour, another hour to go probably. Suddenly I have the urge to call Gladys. I miss her and it would be wrong not to say good-bye. “Hello baby” she says, “I miss you.” I tell her how much I would’ve liked to have finished the vacation with her, maybe if I had been in the right frame of mind, and she not so tired. I miss her either way and I thank her. “You’re going to make me cry” she says, her voice breaking. I can just imagine the tears had she come to see me off. I love hearing her voice again. Perhaps next year she won’t be such a brat, and I won’t be such a jerk.
-Goodbye baby! I love you!
-I love you too, baby. Bye!

Now I know why I hate home movies. Somebody please tell him what this board is for.

I knew I wouldn't please everyone with my post, Treker. Perhaps someday you can post one of your own and show me how it's done?

Interesting.. quite different tact than most that post here. Maybe it is just me, but I feel the trip seemed based on a lot of pent up anger and isolation rather than a light-hearted hobbying. Things appear forced, literally at times.
