I barfined a chick, but when I got back to the room the jetlag hit me and I fell right asleep. I tried to get in some sex in the morning, but I was behind the eight and so I basically wasted my cash last night. Tonight, I will not make this mistake again and drink some coffee right before I get back to the room.
I did some walking around and found the LK Metro area. This is about 50-100 yards down Soi Dianna. Soi Dianna is a small street ajdacent to the Dianna Inn and you walk the direction opposite of the beach area to get there.
The LK Metro area looks a little like a mini-Angeles City with 2nd and 3rd rate go-gos/bars. I found a few hotels that were sub-1000 baht, Australian owned/managed and seem fairly nice. Now with these sub-1000 baht hotels, there is always something you have to put up with. Pack lite and be prepared to switch hotels if you elect one of them.

The Pasadena Lodge looked new and seemed like a deal when compared to the Dianna Inn. I think the reviews on the internet and website for the Dianna Inn misrepresent the condition of the hotel. My honest opinion is the Dianna Inn is a dump and what I would expect of a hotel in TJ.
I did some experimentation with the camera today and these were the results:

On a side note, I don't think I will be making it to the Secrets Hotel. I do not doubt the place is nice, but I am thinking its a wise idea not to "shit where you eat" or "barfine the women at the hotel where you stay". It just makes things a little uncomfortable. I also think I will spend more money living at the go-gogo versus just visiting it.
I have done a lot of walking around and have only taken the baht bus once. Its best to take a good pair of running shoes or sneakers and put some cushioned inserts in them. I got mine for 15 dollars at the WalMart which seems fitting for these areas.
There is a variety of 500-700 baht places which I am considering. I will probably take off out of the Dianna Inn tommorrow. Around 3pm, I will check out the different hotels I have been scoping the last few days.

Just wanted to say thanks for your trip reports, they have been very helpful, especially all the info/links in your introduction and preparation. I just booked my second visit to Thailand, spent 7 days in Pattaya in Feb., now coming back this Jan for 14-15 days... depending on how long I spend in Bangkok.
Anyway, would welcome some advice and intros from anyone who plans to be there between 1/12 and 1/26. For an excursion I'd like to visit Koh Chang for a day or two. I was planning to stay near Walking street, but maybe LK Metro is better.
