I noticed a few comments in my prior posts about my hard-negotiating. This is not my first mongering message board nor is it my first trip abroad. Sometime in the 90s, it was in fashion to get the best deals possible when going abroad. It was never thought of as “cheap” or “being stern”, but as simply working the marketplace to your favor. There were a lot of small-time business guys that would make these trips abroad to get laid as there was simply not a lot of time for meeting and dating women for them. At some point over the years, negotiating with the women went out of fashion and simply paying the presented price became in-vogue. However, it has not changed for me. I still enjoy the art of the deal wherever I go and with whatever I do. When I do not get the best deal possible, I feel bad.

As was with my prior business, negotiating and working the marketplace was the key to thriving and surviving. For many years, I have negotiated and worked out deals as a part of my daily business life. Sometimes I got worked over and other times I worked them over. Sometimes I would do a 10000 dollar job for 25000 and then I would do a 25000 dollar job for 10000. It was all part of the game. Getting worked over was never a bad thing because you learned a lesson each time around and would simply extract the cash on the next deal.

Pattaya is just another marketplace where you try to get the best deal you can. You can pay the presented price if you like, but there are ways to do better. You are not being “stern” by getting a better deal then the last guy. You are also not working the Thai people over. In fact, the Thai people here really know how to bargain. I can see some of their techniques a mile away because I used all of them at some point in my life and know what works and what doesn't. For example, its common for the Thai people to use the “shotgun technique” where they approach every guy they see with their goods. Sometimes you walk past them saying no once and then when you walk past them again they still try to sell you the same stuff. They are essentially throwing their shit up against the wall and seeing what sticks.

If you get one of the ladies to work for a lot cheaper price then what others are paying, then do not feel bad. Deal-making is a two way street. They did not have to accept your bid and could have walked anytime during the process. Just as I went through some trials and tribulations in the early days of my business, now they too are going through the give and take of deal making. They will learn a lesson and negotiate better the next go round.

I read a lot of reports on here of guys getting offended because another reader is chasing after the girl they posted about. Sometimes the reporter seems to get emotional about the girl and seems to have a greater connection. After a woman is done with you then she will be right back out on the block trying to get another guy to pay her fine. Thats her job. This is not your wife or girlfriend. This woman is here to make some cash to feed her family and her loyalties are not with you. Don't fall in love with these girls. Just leave it be once you are done.

Angeles City is designed so no negotiating is necessary. All of the barfines in Angeles City are standardized. The Filipinas know what to expect as far as tipping. For the most part, the hotels in Angeles City are giving you a good rate. The Swiss Chalet is one of the best deals around AC in my opinion because the internet works well, the food downstairs is ok and the place is very quiet.

Pattaya is not the most honest of places like many would have you believe. The maids noticed this morning that an expensive bottle of whiskey was missing from the mini-bar. I know I did not drink any whiskey. I am not sure who took the whiskey. I wanted to add as a side note you should probably tell the hotel to take all of the mini-bar stuff and not to add any items during the stay. It seems as if the mini-bar has become a place for the women to take without my permission. A few of the women were drinking soda while I was sleeping and such. If they were taking whiskey and soda, then what else were they taking in the room without my permission? If you need mini-bar stuff, go to the 7-11 where its a lot cheaper.

There is also another trick I discovered that I did not fall for. The “Let me take your picture” routine. A Thai guy approaches you offering to take your picture. You give them your camera and then they won't give it back until you produce a tip or they just run off with the camera. The Thais will expect money for anything that they do for you. No one is going to do you a favor for free.

Believe me, I am having a great time during this trip and totally relaxed. I have gotten laid each night and went on a few scenic excursions which I greatly appreciated. However, I have chosen to report all the ins and outs of the trip versus presenting a cheer leading type report which I have found to be the norm here. I am not going to jerk anyone's chain and misrepresent the truth of what really happened. I tell it like it is because I don't want anyone repeating my mistakes.

I found a cool bar/go-go/restaurant last night by the beach which, in my opinion, has been the greatest value of the trip. The women seem to be above average then the regular beer bar routine and enthusiastic. Enthusiasm is key to these go-gos. Some of the go-gos I visit just dont seem to have the same “come in and we will grab your package” type atmosphere. If they do not grab your package once while in the go-go, then they will probably not go that extra mile back in the hotel room. This place also serves food at reasonable prices.

The women inside did not seem true Walking Street Go-Go quality. Some I could tell had a few kids or had scars covered up. The dental work of the chicks, however, seemed a little better then what I have encountered. A lot of the women look good in Pattaya until they smile. I simply can't stomach some of the teeth I am seeing amongst some of them.

The women inside this place would dance up on the table and then the song would change. When the song changed, they would get down and go around the room groping and gaming the guys sitting down very enthusiastically. They would let me touch and see underneath the bathing suits which is a plus because I like to know what I am getting myself into.

The place is called Tahitian Queen Go-Go bar near Soi 13 right in front of the beach.




I would be the first one to tell you if I had a bad experience as is evident in the report. This one was simply amazing. It was 11am the next day before we stopped banging around. Multiple sessions all night long with the only pause being sleep after thorough exhaustion. She was definitely a good pull.

My only worry is that if I go back to the bar will she expect me now to take her again? I sure wanted to try out a few of the others that had groped me. There was one with some larger breasts I wanted to try. I understand the ladies don't like to see their customers getting escorted out by some other lady, but I guess thats just the way it is. I don't plan on marrying anyone.

I dont think this is the best looking woman in Pattaya, but the experience of her jumping up and down on me for the better part of an hour and her disturbing the peace of the humble Inn could not be beat in my book.

I felt like this woman not only kept her promise of a rocking time, but went that extra mile doing 150% of what was truly expected.

I look forward of getting out of the Diana Inn tomorrow. The internet connection has not worked so well despite my repeated complaints, the noise is unbearable (I hear the Jake Brake going off in the street) and my room has the charm of a broken down Florida beach hotel. It would have been better if my room did not face the street. I know I did not pay a high rate for the room, but I expected they at least have the air condition and internet running well on arrival.

They did fix the air condition for me which helped. It was not working when I got there and I had to endure a few hot days. The website said the owners were on the premises, but I have not seen them once. If the owners are not here, then they won't care if your internet gets fixed.

i've been reading reports for a few years and i don't remember any mentioning this type of stuff. you might be getting your message boards mixed up.

i'm pretty sure the TQ is the original go go bar in pattaya. well known for being one of the few go go style bars that are open in the daytime.

from what i've read of your daily updates, it sounds like you still haven't visited soi 6 (soi yodsak). you are missing out on ALOT. can you imagine not going to walking street ?

i've read alot of your posts and you claim to have read alot of stuff on the board about pattaya. but each time you post more "info", it just becomes more clear that you didn't read much or at least retain much.

I am enjoying the running report and hope it keeps up. I like Portege's blantant style, introspection, analysis of his own errors, and attempts at incrementally enhancing his trip.

Recently I myself started reading a couple Pattaya specific boards in preparations for my cherry trip to LOS. They seem like they have some good nuggets.. but much of it consequential yobbo bullshit and an obvious bias.

His report does bring a couple of questions to my mind in thinking of my trip.
-Will I be wanting for more GFE than the average Thai girl gives after my last few trips were to the Philippines?
-Is language going to be bigger barrier than I have been lead to believe reading past reporting? And will this mess with my preferred style of rotating volume and longtime?

Anyhow, keep writing Port. I am sure that if even if many of the old hands are face-palming at times, the lurkers are loving this.

You found a great daytime bar in Tahitian Queen. They play only rock and roll music and you can ask for requests of songs and videos if you like.

As for being stern about your approach. I never said and nobody ever said you should pay the going rate or more. You should always get the best price BUT it is the approach you used that I questioned. I understand that you don't speak Thai, so negotiating isn't easy for you. Be that as it may, you should never break out a calculator when negotiating a price and make sure to have fun with it.

You say that you are trying to negotiate the best price but you are paying 1,000 baht for ST with a beer bar girl. You are overpaying. Nearly all of them will take that for LT and most will take 500 for ST.

You can take my advice or not. I have been to Thailand 27 times and wrote guides and reports on the subject. I speak fairly fluent Thai. You can take my advice or not....UP TO YOU.

One of the advantages of following this board is getting different points of view, whether you agree or not.
Regarding negotiating with the girl for cost of services, many times I don't even discuss money upfront unless the girl does. I have had LT 's and given the girl $$ in the AM, end of story.

As far as the mini bar goes, I think it is kind of ironic that the Diana Inn has a minibar that contains expensive whiskey. Most places I have stayed at had basic beer and soft drinks or nothing at all with comp. water. Nicer hotels like President Solitaire and Majestic Grande I expect it.

I have made a habit of stopping in the 7-11 on the way back to the room with the BF and offer to buy her whatever she wants, wine cooler, Coke, whatever. Never had a girl take advantage of this.

I don't remember anyone mentioning this but behind the Pier bar beers, ie, boxing ring is the Beergarden. Personally never had any luck there, but there are freelancers there with no bar fine.
You may want to check it out. I would also recommend a soapy from one of the 3 Sabai's on Second Rd Soi2/ Soi3.

Not cheap but 1700 B all in aint bad. Go around 2100 for full selection from the fish bowl.

Keeper - Pattaya is about as much in your face and easy mongering as it gets. The boards offer advise, but it is just so easy to find places that even if you did not read anything you will be fine. Obviously some of the basic tips help, like pricing, but finding places is easy. I did find GFE experience there, but it all depends on the chemistry with the girl. I had some awesome sessions with some and others not so good. Not terrible, but average and 'ok'. Language definitely is a barrier, but most speak enough (very) basic English to get by for securing the transaction. Most likely, however, you will not have deep in depth conversations with them.

I will be traveling to Pattaya again in March of next year, but this time I will be trying Philippines as well. The more I read about it in the various reports and your comments it seems a place more likely for getting GFE experience like I am accustomed to in Brazil.
