Wow! What a night... The woman I barfined from before at the Tahitian Queen up by the beach (not the Tahitian Queen 2 off of Walking Street) was working until 8pm. Therefore, I went into the Queen at 8:30pm.
I love the Queen because everything seems like its at the right price. They have burgers, fries and other fast food there that is about half the price of the local McDonalds. You can eat and drink while watching the show. Women dance around on a stage and you basically preview them before making a decision.. The song then eventually stops and they all shift from the stage to the floor and then another set comes on. Everyone is wearing a bikini so you get to preview the goods. If you barfine before 7pm, they give you half off the fine 300 baht (versus 600 baht). The women are of various body sizes and ages. If you don't like slender, they have more full bodied. If you dont like young, they have older.
The awesome part about the Queen is they have a short-time room upstairs. You can eat, drink and then pause to fuck upstairs. When you are done, you come back down and party on. No wasting time going back to the room. No worrying about which stuff the chick is going to take in your hotel room or whether you might get pressured into taking them to dinner. Eat, drink and fuck. Then when all is said and done you can sit on the beach to watch the neon lights and hear the ocean. Almost every chick I have met here has raided the mini-bar and asked to get taken for food somewhere which essentially adds to the cost of the experience without adding any extra action. How can you go wrong with this place?
I took this one from the place for a little short time action. She looks tall in the picture, but I am over a foot taller then her. The very top of her head reaches just to about my chest. From my point of view, she is slender.
The truly skinny 85-100 pound Asian chicks do pose a problem for me at times. My body is simply too heavy on top of them. I've tried the skinnies, but certain body types do not go together well all the time. If you are over 6 feet tall and have some size, then you know what I mean.

I have been experimenting with the 50mm. I am finding the 50mm prime is the best walk-around night lens. Its short, compact and good with night shots. There are more people out at night so the chances of the camera getting bumped are greater. The 50mm is easier to handle in that regard. I did a full walk around of Walking Street at night snapping pictures. It is a little weird carrying around a $1000 item around your neck in what is basically a third world country. Some of these lenses cost over a grand and I am certain a lot of other people know that. The body alone costs $700 which is not the most expensive body, but certainly not cheap.
BTW, the cheap kit lenses seem to be working out well enough. I am finding myself using the 50-250mm zoom for a lot of shots. The kit lenses do not seem to be that rugged, but they will probably hold up for at least a few years I guess.
A digital DSLR is a whole different world for me then the various point and shoots I have had in the past. The DSLR is not compact by any means, but I have found ways around that like using the
Here are four good images. I will post the rest later in a new thread marked night shots. No flash was used in these shots
I wont have time to respond to comments in the thread for the next few days. I am focusing on a few business matters and having fun at the same time. I know some of you guys are used to being tied in front a super-broadband connection for hours each day and so you are used to real time responses, but I ration my time on sites like this to about 10-15 minutes so I can focus on what counts. When you get older, your time becomes more important then anything else because its basically running out. Be glad you are getting these photos out of me;) It only takes me a few minutes to type something like this as I am a speed typist...learned on an old IBM selectric back in high school and have been typing all my life even before Al Gore invented the internet.

In the photography part, I meant to say that I have found ways of lugging around the lenses like attaching a medium size zing bag to my belt. I brought a Velocity sling bag with me on this trip. Even though the bag is small, it does add some bulk and so I stick with carrying lenses with zing bags.
During the day, I attach the 55-250mm to my belt with the medium sized zing bag and then carry the camera around on my neck. I "up armored" the camera with a cheap rubber kit from ebay so it can resist bumps better. I have another zing action bag that goes around the camera itself for when I am carrying, but not using.
At night, I use the 50mm only and leave the zooms at home. Throw a zing action case around it and its awesome.

Some nice photographs.
One thing you should understand is that you need to adapt and overcome in Pattaya.
If you are having problems with girls raiding the mini bar then have all items removed by the staff and make sure they inventory everything so they dont charge you for it later. This does become a problem if you keep changing rooms daily.
If girls are hungry. Just stop by 7-11 on the way home and grab some snacks and drinks(very cheap). The other thing to do is to go eat some street food. The girls prefer street food and it is many times better than the restaurants. If you don't enjoy Thai food, then that might be a problem.

Al Gore never said he invented the internet. I use that line all the time and know it isn't true. But always funny. http://www.snopes.com/quotes/internet.asp
