My first trip to Asia in over a a year and 4 months when I went to Thailand and a year and a half since I have been to the Philippines.

Getting there was an adventure. I have decided to try to avoid LAX altogether and just fly out of SFO next time as LAX is a complete third world shithole and about as organized as a Chinese fire drill. The line to check in EVA was wrapped around the front of the airport and there was an additional long line to put my bags through security. I arrived at LAX 3.5 hours before takeoff and barely made it. The flight was great in that I slept nearly the entire way and even missed the second meal. I always order Kosher or Hindu meals even though I am not Jewish or Hindu because they give you the meal first and pickup your tray first. Usually the Kosher meal is better than the crap they serve you anyways.

Arrived in Manila a little bit late but it didn't take too long to get my bags and head over to the domestic airport for my Zest Air flight to Clark. I calculated my costs and it was 950 pesos all inclusive(2 taxis, domestic tax, 350 peso ticket). Instead of taking the long drive through Manila and onto AC for 2 hours, I just chilled at the airport for an hour or so and ended up leaving early and arriving at 2:30pm...which was about 2 hours from the time I left the international airport. The best thing was that I was the only person on the flight. This was a large airbus plane on it's way to Hong Kong and it was as if I was on Air Force One. 5 stewardess' and me.

Arrived at Pacific Breeze still feeling like a zombie and decided to take postpone my errands and just get settled in and out to the bars. The only problem with a long flight and traveling is that you feel like crap and you end up drinking more than usual. I rarely drink while in the States but found myself pounding San Mig Lights all night. Spent quite a bit of time at all the Fields bars that were new and ended up spending about 2 hours at Golden Nile. I was having a great time with several of the tequila girls and I guess I danced with some of the "Bad Influence" girls but I don't really remember that part as I rarely do that. Had the mamasan send a txt to Daddy Martin that Brock was here and she bought me a few beers throughout the night.

I had a girl on my mind that I met previously at Crystal Palace but she had been barfined so I ended up at Champagne. Spoke with Mommy Celi, as she remembers me from way back. On EVA, if you want a special meal, try pre-ordering the "Seafood". It's usually shrimp, squid, scallops, octopus and such, in sauce on noodles and is pretty good for economy airline food, It gets served first along with a beer and then you can get a another beer when the food cart comes around to your neighbors.

having just watched the movie airplane, I'd have to advise against the seafood option.

Chapter 2:

It was a Monday and I was feeling like shit from way too many beers the night before. It was definitely going to be a water day for me. It was just like the good ole days with me flying solo in a destination that has changed quite a bit but in most ways was pretty much the same.

Started my day going to SM Mall. Although on subsequent trips, the place ended up being fairly cold, on this day they must have forgot to turn the aircon on as most people were sweating, including myself. The mall is of pretty decent size and is split up quite a bit differently than malls in the USA or even other malls in the PI. The bottom floor has the left hand side full of restaurants and fast food places. The right side has random clothing stores, salons, eyecare stores, etc. The top floor has a nice movie theatre that has independant entrances on the mall level floor(as opposed to a hallway with multiple entries). One of the theatre's is digital and has 3D movies. The top floor also has a ton of electronic stores and cell phone shops. The back of the bottom floor also has a Filipino food court section with other restaurants in the back entrance. There is also a large supermarket called that has pretty much anything you need, including a mini food court and rotisserie chicken to go. Some good values here are snacks, fruit, some toiletries, and water. If you live in AC or are there for at least a month, this might be a great place to stock up on necessities.

I ended up going to a cell phone shop to get my Iphone unlocked for 1,200 pesos. I made the stupid mistake of updating my Iphone and it relocked the phone....live and learn. Had to wait around an hour so I ended up eating at this Filipino buffet downstairs. The food was ok but not the standard Filipino food most Kanos are used to....no chicken adobo, curry chicken, pancit bihon, sinigang or lumpia. When someone says they like Filipino food, it usually means they enjoy the Filipino food that caters to Kanos and is pretty mild. Try eating sisig, bagoong, etc and you might change your mind.

Finally ended up going back to my hotel and trike driver asked for 100 pesos...lol. I told him that 50 pesos would be more appropriate but he stood firm at 100 pesos so I walked. Trust me, with all the American food and beer I was drinking, I needed the exercise. Took a nap for about 5 hours and then went out.

This was the one night where I was just going nuts trying to find a barfineable girl. Although I am a bit picky, I realize when the odds are against me and just lower my standards. What I may consider hot, others may consider a dog...could care less. I am more of a face guy and pretty faces are hard to find for me in AC sometimes. Never had a problem finding great service and sweet girls...they are plentiful in AC. Slim bodies are also fairly plentiful but finding a pretty face on a slim body is rare. I still manage to have a great time and party with the girls.

Couple of observances on this night. I went to around 15 bars that night and was having so much fun that I wasn't as focused on finding a barfine. One thing you can say about Filipinas, they are happy and have a positive attitude.

Some thoughts on that night:

1. The amount of scooters/mopeds now in AC is about 10 times the amount I observed in three years. Seems all the local expats and girls on the WU program have brand new mopeds. They are a bit bigger than what most would imagine when thinking of a moped...almost a motorcycle. This new occurrence has made the streets of Fields absolute chaos. I used to think that the Soi's of Pattaya were extremely dangerous but Fields has it beat these days. It is not a place for pedestrians and there are virtually no sidewalks. If you are drunk at night, keep your wits about you when walking.

2. The amount of family beggars is so high that I sometimes just wear an ipod and pretend nobody exists until I get into the bar. On this night, a 2 year old jumped on my back and hung from my shirt for a block or so while the parents looked on with their hands out. Kids constantly trying to grab onto you and actually hitting you when you don't give them money. I give them coins here and there but it seems to have the rest of them swarm around you like flies. I have sympathy for them but they are aggressive, rude and sometimes hostile. When the kids are hanging onto you, I am afraid to touch them as they might immediately call the police for some sort of scam. I would say there are beggars every 10 feet or so at night.

3. I used to hate it when the 10 or so vendors would constantly bug you for Cialis or tshirts. Now they have an army of teenagers selling the stuff and they are everywhere. These Samar and Leyte girls are dragging their family members with them and they all need jobs. I try to ignore it but these guys are fucking relentless. Despite my online persona, I am a real easy going guy but some nights this shit just bugged me when I was just trying to have a good time without all of the fucking hassle.

4. They now sell sushi in the Atlantis/Dollhouse bars. One of the best values is ordering sushi from the menu in the bar and the sushi isnt bad. It is not high grade sushi from Japan but cheap and good. You can order an 8 piece tuna roll for 110 pesos. Goes great with Sam Mig Light.

5. The new bars near McDonald's were very disappointing. Beautiful bars but they stocked the bars with talent reminiscent of a lower end Fields bar like Brown Sugar or Camelot. Club Asia has very few girls on Sunday or Monday but the rest of the time it is an amazing bar with hot girls and a lot of fun. Club Asia is kind of independent of Love and Music Bar and Shooterz.

Ended up at Angel Witch as the place usually has rock music and you can request songs and videos from the DJ. Put on some Rush and Tool. Was pretty sober but exhausted from jetlag. Noticed a girl looking at me and giggling. She had a pretty face and was thick in the legs but still sexy. I prefer tits on a stick but this girl seemed fun and pretty so she would do for tonight.

Ended up eating shrimp sinigang in the room with this chica and had a great couple sessions with her. She was really hot in bed and fucked back when I was doing her doggie. I was talking to one of of the smarter bar girls who had a scooter. I call her smart because she spent her money on herself and didn't have a Filipino BF. The Viagra sales punks and beggars have exceeded the threshold of annoying and into the the realm of just so damn ridiculous it's actually funny. I'm reminded of that scene in the movie Airplane where "Rex Kramer" has to fight his way through the gauntlet of Moonies and Hare Krishnas.

Actually, I've been told that the going rate for financing is over 30%, whether dealer financed or bank financed. The problem w/ the Chinese scooters is that often the scooter dies before the financed term is over.

Also, if you finance and fail to make payment on even the very last payment, they can repossess the asset and keep it even if the value of the asset is greater than what's left on the loan.

Nice report so far Blazers, how long would you suggest in AC for a person going on a multi-leg trip of SEA for the first time? I was thinking a week would be more than enough for me...

After a week, you have basically fucked every stunner on your list and you start getting stir crazy. Still a great destination as the girls are sweet, the service is off the charts and it's designed for beginner mongers. It's almost too easy.

Some things have definitely improved in AC as the hotels are nicer, more bars, nicer bars, better restaurants, and more girls in general. Most of the expats are cool and helpful.

On Tuesday, I finally went to the new gym in the new complex way out past Timog Park on Friendship. It's called Enclave Fitness. I took the jeepney out to friendship and then another jeepney out to Enclave. Would have probably taken an hour to walk from my hotel each way. The gym has a pool, small sauna, good aerobic machines(eliptical, treadmill, bicycle) and a fairly small weight center upstairs. It's more of a small gym that you would find as part of a small hotel.

The place has some decent machines but the free weights were ok. AC1 is actually a better gym for weight lifting. I only ended up going to the gym four times and the next three times were at AC1. The 2 Filipino weighlifting baklas who work there are a pain in the ass. They kept lecturing me that I wasn't wiping down the machines with the special spray that they had and told me that I had to put down towels on every chair before using it. I understand that they have new machines and such but this was ridiculous. They were following me around and this is a small gym. I was within an eyelash of telling them to fuck off and leave me alone to work out.

Decided to head to Perimeter after taking a nap and showering. Perimeter bars are nowhere near the talent they used to have as the large bars are plucking the stunners that come into their bars from time to time. I felt as if Lost in Asia consistently had great talent and it is a fun bar with great management. There was one sexy hot girl at Roadies and plenty at Cherry's Bar(kind of a Checkpoint bar). I went to nearly every bar but went back to a bar called that had a little chica with a cute face and about at the level of girl you would see at Santos. I wanted an afternoon session so she would do.

Ended up taking her to eat at Pacific Breeze as I was hungry and ran into a couple of guys who were working in Iraq as civilian contract workers. Chapter 4:

On this Tuesday night, I basically was having a lot of frustration finding a barfineable girl. Chapter 6:

Had the normal breakfast at The International(former Shano's) with my two buddies at 9am. It's always fun to rehash the prior nights barfines and fun times. Had a long day going to all of the Perimeter bars and between the three of us, we noticed one cute girl during the barhop. Perimeter is still a great place to find hot FOB's before they get snatched up by the big bars but you have to practice patience. If you are a tourist, it's still a good idea to go there daily to check the talent, even if it means peeking your head in for a minute and leaving(which we did around 10 times that day). Other than Lost in Asia, nearly all of the Perimeter bars were just lacking in talent the week I was there. Doesn't mean that you can't have fun drinking and partying, just realize that you have to drop your standards a bit to find a barfine sometimes. The problem with Perimeter bars is that the expats patrol the bars constantly for new talent to move in with them or get a couple ST's in before the girl has been working too long or snatched up by the Fields bars. Tourists cannot compete with expats and residents who are there every day and can see when the waves of talent come in and out of the bar.

Finally ended up back at Fields and to Typhoon Bar. I was eating at Kokomo's the day before and noticed a really sexy waitress outside and was blowing her kisses and smiling from chair at Kokomo's. Typhoon doesnt have hot dancers but there are two really hot waitress' and I have now barfined them both(one from last TR)Luckily, this girl was working during the day and I immediately bought her an LD. This girl just looked so sexy in her pantsuit waitress outfit and had the beautiful long hair that I love so much with many Filipinas. She also had the full lips and slightly bucked teeth that I really love. Thought she might be shy but she immediately sat on my lap and was very affectionate.
