At this point in the trip, I am no longer surprised by anything. I feel as if someone at any time is going to knock on the hotel room door to present me with some type of bill. The only thing that seems to matter here is how much baht you got. As long as you have baht and willing to pay up, you can get anything you want.

The height of ridiculous came today when what looked like a platoon of Thailand Army regulars came through Beach Road with large black pots. There was a few green trucks with more soldiers and one guy was on a public address system attached to the truck. Yet another guy was down at the beach on a bull horn yelling at the crowd. They were collecting money and Im not sure what it was for, but people were stuffing money in the pots. I couldn't stand it any longer so I ducked into a 7-11. I got a few pictures of them looting the tourist crowd of their baht.

One thing was for sure, I was not going to be stuffing my baht into their pots which, by the way, were overflowing.



I cruised around today and went out to the usual go-gos, but I was burnt out of paying these large bar fines. So I did the usual and hit the Beach. I walked several blocks before I spotted this one for 500 baht. She had a hard luck story about her motorbike getting stolen and fired from some go-go.

It doesn't seem to matter how much you pay here. You get the same service whether you pay 500 bahts or 3000 bahts. This 500 baht chick seemed to perform quite well. I did send a message to the other chicks who wanted 2000 bahts and 1000 bahts. I just wanted to stuff a 500 baht bill down someone's undies and get mine. Thats all I wanted. I didnt feel like getting squeezed tonight.

I have to admit, I am enjoying the daily updates to this ever evolving soap opera.
I too keep a daily journal when on holiday and derive a trip report from my notes.
I also remember my first trip to LOS and how I subsequently changed my ways on future trips.
IMO......... a few key points:
1) Beauty is in the eye of the buyer. Therefore, a jewel on Beach Rd. can give better service than a 2000B go go girl.
2) Pattaya is a tourist town, all tourist towns have touts and plenty of them.
3) If the tailors bother you so much, walk on the beach side of the street or carry some small packets of mayonnaise to open on your hand before shaking with Patel.
4) Tipping is not a city in China, waitresses, barmaids, hotel maids, and taxi drivers are all eligible if service is worthy.
5) Try to immerse yourself in the local culture, you are far from home, don't compare it to other places , take it for what it is, and go with the flow.

2 of your best three good looking girls came from beach freelancers. Might as well go back to that well several times.

Maybe we should stay away from the bars. These beach girls are really nice.

Sure fits the pocketbook also.

Getting the good quality beach girls involved some work.

First, you have to go at the right time. The best times seem to be right around when the majority of bars and clubs release women from the shifts. The women who did not get barfined then get a second chance on this row. I found that 10-12pm seemed to be prime time. Right around dinner time seemed like a good time too.

Second, you might have to walk several blocks and filter out a fair number of women before finding the right one. If you dont find the right one, wait about 45 minutes and then go back for another walk. The girls I picked up from the beach involved a lot of walking and I never got a good one on the first try.

Third, there are a lot of characters you will have to fend off from ladyboys to vendors to obviously undesirable women. Once you do find the right one, then have them pick up their shirt to look at their belly and try to get a good look at their breasts. Examine the goods closely.

Fourth, if you are picking up a woman from the beach during prime time then do not take her back past the other ladies on the row. The other ladies will yell out and start taunting.

The best looking women usually get snapped up quick so you have to be fairly aggressive and act quickly.

In my case, I'm trying to get myself in better shape and so I walk around the beach several times a day. Sometimes I do a little jogging, but walking is better for me.

I forgot to talk about the importance of "Siestas". In a country where the temperature is above 80 degrees fairly regularly you have to take a nap in the afternoon otherwise you run out of gas later in the night. I find taking a nap around 4pm usually gets me ready for the night time. No nap and I am out of gas sometime after midnight.
