It's not customary to tip but at places like cascades and hotel coahuilla, but they are used to tourist who will easily tip on command, so....
To answer your question, if the 2nd guy wanted a tip, I'd just ignore him.

I only tip the second guy if I'm in the room 10-15min past knock & they are both right at the room door. I usually stay past knock to shower & dress after the chica leaves. I figure I'm on Mexican time. When I stay longer like this at the cheap hotels, I'll give $1 if asked. Otherwise no tip.
