At this point, I have worked out all of the issues with the Secrets Hotel. They had someone work on the water system and now it is definately reasonably hot. The internet was a system issue caused by the Vista update, service pack 2. On a few barfines they gave me a discount of 200 baht making up for the blood stain charge.

The Diana Inn had given me a bad initial impression. When I checked into that hotel, the air condition was not working (it was later fixed after 2 hot nights). The Diana room was right over a main street and it seemed like I was staying in a trailer at a busy construction site. Way too much noise. The internet worked when I went downstairs, slowly, but did not seem to work in my room. The food at the hotel I saw stored right next to some common household solvents and cleaners which was abad sign for me. Specifically, huge bags of rice were stored in a storage closet next to different sprays and large bottles of cleaning liquid in 85 degree heat. The staff at the Diana did not seem to know much English and there seemed to be constant misunderstandings. They were nice, but it was difficult at times to communicate.

The Secrets Hotel has very well-lit rooms good for photography. All of the furniture is new and the location seems ideal close by everything in the Walking Street area.

The Secrets does not have the best looking line-up (like Happy Go-Go), but all of the women seemed to be of barfinable quality. None of them disappointed me. At the Secrets, the women stayed for 3 hours when it came to short-time and long-time meant until 9am. At other bars, I found the women and the bars seemed to have different definitions for short and long time. Most other bars and women were not as generous with the timing.

Timing is a key issue. You may walk out the door of a bar/go-go with a stunner, but she may walk out of your room in less then an hour...not a lot of time for a quality experience. You can try to dispute the timing issues with the management of a bar or the girl, but I have found you never win such disputes. Sometimes discussing the timing beforehand works, but sometimes it doesnt. I liked The Secrets because what they told me came true. No women of theirs tried to bolt out early.

I also liked how the deskstaff at the Secrets seemed to know more English then at other hotels. At the Apex hotel, for example, they did not understand one word I was saying. I kind of had to really slow down my English and use gestures to speak.

All of the visitors coming through the door of the Secrets had their identification photocopied, scrutinized and then placed into a records binder. I liked this measure of security and screening. They also have security cameras on each floor and there is no way someone can go up the stairs without the front desk knowing it.

The Secrets definitely made for a better quality trip.

First of all, I could give a rats ass if you ever session with a girl from Soi 6. I myself, would not barfine from a bar or area that I was not comfortable with.

But I find it incredibly ironic that you are paranoid about contracting a disease on soi 6 (based on some criteria that you can't or won't explain), while at the same time you are liberally taking freelancers from beach road. These girls are not subject to any medical checkups and may very well be there because they couldn't pass one.

You are absolutely correct that you should spend your vacation as you see fit, but your beach road vs soi 6 logic entirely escapes me.

The women in the go-gos are not loyal to the go-gos and they do not get barfined every night. If they do not get barfined, then they obviously do not benefit monetarily. Therefore, since they are not loyal to the go-gos and need the cash, then they turn to another avenue.

There are certain times when the go-gos close or let out some of the staff depending upon how many guys are in the crowd. When the ladies are let go for the night, then they will usually try to go out and find their own barfine. They might go to the beach, the disco or some other place. Some will even walk up and down Walking Street.

Its not difficult to figure out which women work at the go-gos and which ones are truly freelancers. Through casual conversation and a few minutes of talking, they will let you know where they really work. They wont come right and tell you so you have to be sly and get them to loosen up about it.

The Beach did work well, but I am finding the discos and the mall during the day might be the better avenue to take.

In any event, I have found that anyone working at any bar or go-go is very willing to meet up outside of their place of employment at reduced rates. The main places are the mall, the beach, Walking Street itself during the later hours and the discos.

Usually around 10pm-1am (especially after 1am), will be the time to get some prime stuff at the discos, beach and walking street.

The one indicator of where a woman might work is their dental work and belly. I find the better go-gos do not hire women who do not have good dental work or a tight belly. Like Happy Go-Go is not going to hire a woman who really looks jacked in those two departments. Look for those two signs and then casually talk them up to see where they really work.

Honestly, I could not care less where anyone on this board mongers while in Pattaya. When someone describes what they seem to be after I will gladly give suggestions where I think that can be found (and even include twice, that it may not be for everyone).

What I do always laugh about is when people espouse that one set of prostitutes is ‘cleaner’ than another set. I have heard this said by people in Brazil and Pattaya (those being the two places I have spent considerable time). It is my belief this to be one of the most incorrect assessment that can be made. A girl at a top go-go may have worked beach road for years and during that time gladly gone bareback for a few hundred extra baht, heck she may still do the same. There are all types of girls found all over Pattaya, and for me to believe that with the level of Thai I speak, in a conversation with a girl who speaks ‘barglish’ that I am going to really get the low down on her is a fantasy (although one I often convince myself of). Many of these girls know the answers I want to hear before I ask the question and gladly oblige with that answer. I am not saying this is true of all the girls out there, some really are sweethearts trapped in a difficult situation. There are folks here who do speak good/fluent Thai and I usually respect their opinion, as some insight I would never gather myself.

We all do what we want, enjoy Pattaya the way we feel most comfortable. That is one of the main reasons for me it is such a great place, girls everywhere and most available for the right amount of baht. Personally I choose not to create an illusion that one set of prostitutes is better than another set, if that makes someone else more comfortable, than go for it.

Monty...Gao is reportedly a good fuck and the back door is open. She's been around for a while...that's why she speaks English so well. I first met her at Happy in early 2007. Cute girl, yes. Unfortunately, she also has an attitude problem and she's a player. Worth the expense? Probably yes, if you want a 3 holer and a quickie.
