The next few days I am going to complete my tour and then get ready to head back home. Christmas is around the corner and I am certainly thankful.
Somewhere in Afghanistan or Iraq, a soldier will go to sleep tonight far away from their friends and loved ones unknowing if tomorrow will be their last day. Around America, there are at least 1 million people homeless. Tuning into cnn.com you get a blast of bad news such as an innocent man let out of prison after 35 years, a French airliner crashing and a snowstorm which takes lives.
I am certainly happy for what I have and thankful that I have the ability to go on a trip like this one....very thankful and very happy.
The Happy Go Go is one place to reflect on the good times. The spirit and energy always seem to be at a high in this go-go. I do not regret any of my visits to this go-go as its a place that just makes you feel good for going. Each time I have went, there was at least one guy ringing a bell or tossing the celebratory ping-pong balls at the women. Many times at these places, you never see anyone ringing the bells or honking the horns because no one is having a good time. Everyone at Happy seems to be having a great time and the girls move as they truly mean it.
Unlike other go-gos I have haunted, the women here seem to be a bit better off. Some of the women have some type of breast augmentation while others appear to have had or are undergoing some orthodontal work. I am guessing these women are in higher demand and its obvious as to why. All of the women I saw at Happy seemed to be above average in looks and none looked objectionable. All of the women seemed to have a lot more energy and their spirits above the average.
The women at Happy wear these armbands and they are constantly stuffing 100 baht bills in them that the crowd throws at them. Their performance on the stage is that good. I have yet to see anyone throwing money on the stage at other go-gos. The only complaint I have about Happy is being waited on by a male barstaff. In these places, I enjoy the company of a female hostess rather then dealing and settling my tabs with some dude.
I got a little more creative in this picture set. The camera I am using I only paid $700 for including the kit-lens. When I left to come here, I was seeing advertisements where Canon even discounted them further. If I had waited, I could have paid less for it. Technology has certainly come up when it comes to cameras. Before the trip, I honestly did not know what an "f-stop" was or about any of the settings on the camera. I used point and shoots on other trips which did not have the same results.
One day I heard a commercial which stated how you wouldnt want to explain to your friends or loved ones ten years from now the reason why you couldnt get a good picture was because you simply could not afford the camera. After these trips, memories seem to fade quickly. In 3 months, its almost as if you never went on the trip. I am happy I have such clear pictures so I can clearly remember the trip. I have no regrets about buying the camera or lugging it with me from place to place. If I didnt, then my memories would be somewhat less of the trip in the times to come.
This one I took from Happy. Her spirit is evident in the pictures and what I am used to when I go to Happy. The women in Happy will always push for the highest barfine. Just tell them what you are willing to pay and the market rate and they will accept it. Thats what I did.

This next one is from the Secrets. I was a bit tired so only got a few pictures before I called it a night.

I told you the most important part. The most important part is that we are here, alive and able to celebrate Christmas with our friends and loved ones.
I reflect on this list every week and just feel thankful for what I have and my ability to take this trip.

I was planning on switching hotels...to the Jasmine just down the street on the last two days to check it out.
I don't feel I need to at this point. I am satisfied with the Secrets Hotel as they have resolved all of my issues. However, the room I was checked into was already booked so they put me into this smaller room on the second floor.
The Secrets Hotel is setup as follows. You have 3 floors above the club. One side faces the alleyway where you have some motorbike traffic in the night-time and then you have the other side which faces away. The most desirable floor is the top floor facing away from the alley. I was on the top floor and found there was no apparent noise. Now I am on the third floor facing the alley (one floor down from the top). I turned off everything in the room and listened. I did not hear any noise (its 12 noon now though).
If a woman is moaning in another room, though, I know you can hear it out in the hallway. This may not be a bad thing depending upon the woman. You can also tell when a woman is in the hallway as you hear "click click click". I was listening hard for the "click click click" on that night because it sure sounded like a fun time in the other room and I wanted to see if it was one of the women who worked down in the club.
There is no elevator so this place may not be good for a guy with a handicap.
At this point, Im not sure if I want to make my next stay in Pattaya or Jontiem. I guess it comes down to your priorities. If mongering is your sole priority, then you want to stay in Pattaya at a place like the Secrets. However, if you want more of a real vacation and kick-back time time then you want Jontiem.
At the start of the trip I was constantly walking and jogging to different places. It was nice because I wanted to lose a few pounds. Then I found myself at some point taking the baht bus all the time. Today, I thought to myself that it would probably be better for me to walk around these last few days and take in the scenery. I hit the Beach Rd on foot and then instantly one of the vendors was yelling at me "Island Island Island!" and another guy jumps out me talking about how I need a suit. Then I remembered why I started taking the baht bus. Jontiem seems to lack the vendoring dynamic.
I would definately stay in the Secrets again as it seems to be a purely mongering related hotel. At the Lek Hotel, I noticed there were couples, families and other non-mongering people hanging around. At the Lek Hotel breakfast buffet today, there was a young Asian couple from America making fun of the mongering couples (middle-aged guy with last night's barfine in tow). That is certainly a memory I would not like to have...
Here are some pictures of the smaller room. This is not as big as the 3rd floor room, but still useable.

nice report , which portage are we talking to today?
since there is a bunch of you guys in one!

There is only one of me, but there are a few of you trying to throw the report off...trying to throw me off from my vacation with various negative uninivited remarks and commentary. I am trying to keep it cool.
There was a comment Blazers made about me being black in the first part of the report and I think that has colored his attitude about me as well as others. If that is the case, then that is truly disappointing. I know Blazers will try to come on to defend himself and I just have one question for him. Why would you point out a person's race on a website such as this one? That was uncalled for and clearly slanted. I would like an apology.
Blazers needs to reflect deeply on how he judges other people and look inside himself. Black people are dieing over in Iraq and Afghanistan and its not cool that he is over here free to make his hate speech against others.
I'm not certain if the negative commentary directed at me is because of racism or just a bunch of guys stuck somewhere in the snow and grumpy. Whatever the case, I believe the people who have placed up hate speech in the report need to think over their own personal lives and priorities. We have guys in Iraq and Afghanistan dieing in the name of freedom and rights, but we still have obvious issues here in the United States where people can't seem to take commentary from black people.
I am not letting any of what is being said effect me or my vacation. I truly appreciate going on this vacation and I will keep the trip report cool ignoring the various uninvited negative remarks.
I truly appreciate those who have taken the time to place in positive commentary and constructive remarks. Thanks.

So, you're a black guy and you want an apology from Blazers because he said you're black?

Only thing that has greatly disappointed me in this report is the Drakkar Noir on the nightstand.
Well, it is OK if only a tiny bit is worn.. but it seems to be a top choice of the cologne bathers. Sorry, I just have bad memories from college bars and parties from long ago.
Otherwise, enjoying the report much..

Be a man and stop whining. You told the board that they were lying about their experiences in Pattaya (see below). When you call people liars, that is what happens. Grow up.
Portege said: “I have been all over the place and I am experiencing the real thing while some of you just want to live what you want to live out on a message board.
There must be another Pattaya in Thailand, because the one I am visiting is not the one you guys visited.”

wow , i made a small joke, don't take it so harsh dude....i appreciate your report.

I think it would be helpful if you gave information about what those final prices were. You were very adamant that people were steering you wrong when they said you could not keep daily costs to 2000 Baht a day doing multiple sessions with top tier girls. It seems you ended up sticking with Happy and Secrets toward the end of the trip. Not bad choices, I personally don't like Secrets, but also always consider Happy one of the top go-gos. Although, I have my own ideas why some of those girls are so happy all the time, but that’s a different discussion. I just know taking a girl from both those bars with some lady drinks added in I would be spending a lot more than 2000 Baht.

Knockkneedman,
Instead of trolling through the reports and threads, why dont you place up a report, complete with pictures of the ladies, of your experiences in Pattaya? You seem to believe you know the scene. Lets see what you got in a complete report of the scene.
I see you only have one report about Kiev Moscow which was dated several years back.

I've stayed at Secrets a few times. I really like it, price is right even for their top rooms, close to walking street and 2nd road, hopping bar downstairs. If you are a pool person this place doesn't have a pool.
Be fore-warned, where Portege likes the top floor for less noise. I hate the top floor because the hotel has no elevator and those stairs are steep and winding.

Not sure what you are being so defensive about. You made a big deal before you left about what a reasonable expectation for how much you would spend. After a month trip where did those numbers come in? If you are going to tell people they don’t know what they are talking about when they tell you what it is going to cost than you should either back that up with what you found or acknowledge that people had been giving you an accurate assessment.

I only made a comment about you possibly being black and I guess I was right. I made no judgment about you being black and could care less. My only point was that some of the Thai girls and Thai people are racist and that you need to understand that when dealing with Thai people and the girls.
Somehow you spun that into me being racist. I was just trying to let you know the reality of Thailand sometimes. You are obviously bipolar according to how you wrote your report...completely nuts. Do you see anywhere where I judged you for being black? Please take a look because it doesnt exist.
You are just pissed because I made a good guess according to how you wrote.
Funny how this clown was lecturing everyone on this board about his ability to stick to a budget and then he ends up barfining girls from gogo bars and paying 2,000ST for weeks. Oh, but he is the expert and guys like Khun Mor and I are just trolls.
Get back on your meds dude.

End of the year so I will add my 2 cents!
I have to admit Blazer you do throw race, skin color in alot and thou I have never meet you I often sit back and think damn this guy is a bit prejudice! As the word is more of a Pre Judge and if the blacks he seems to encounterd or read about fit a certin description then just let him do his thing as we all have some form of prejudice.
Protege you started with -

You seems like a good hearted dude so Dont let anyone take your shine in a great report and photos.
Me being a black Urban male and looking at the choices of all the girls ( nice job)I would guess your "NOT" black but could atleast mixed or a person of color! Funny thing is it dont even matter .. in the words of the "King Of Pop"
It dont matter if your Black or White.
