Why on earth would I go to Panama City and even bother with a trip report?...

Being a Rio veteran, I never felt a need to post a trip report simply because anything and everything has been discussed 10 times over.
Panama City has maybe 2-3 trip reports in the past year with not too many details, so I felt compelled to contribute even with the limited time spent there.
Due to unforeseen and strange circumstances with travel overbookings, I had found myself connecting in Panama City. I had nothing to go on as I did not have access to the internet after finding I needed to go from Rio de Janeiro through Panama City to return home.
I think I got a little lucky, so if any another guy finds themselves with overnight layover in PC then this brief report might lead to a better time than just sitting a hotel sports bar.


Panama City airport:

Flying into the airport was my first observation that this was going to be some shitty 3rd world country. The airport seems to be located by jungles and impoverished neighborhoods (much like flying into the Rio airport). This initial observation was like a complete 180 degrees turnaround in perspective once getting off the plane and entering the terminal.
I saw a multitude of very beautiful girls, quite a few I would absolutely describe as stunning either promoting products outside the duty free stores and/or walking to their gates. I am very critical with judging women, and I wish I had my camera on me to post how pretty girls were.
Leaving the customs area was a breeze and there was no one in line as this looks like just a gateway city for lots of Colombians/Brazilians/Venezuelans to another city.

Taxi Drivers:

Upon leaving the airport, I was quickly approached by a barrage of taxi drivers. I asked how much to the city -- the first response was "28 Dollars". I had no clue how much a fare should really be, but just common sense to me was this was the starting bid so I figured I'd cut it in half and offer $14. The older gentleman responded with $20 and I said okay. BTW, it is actually a fairly decent haul drive to the city center. I would say a good 25 minutes and included paying two tolls of I think $3.50 (so I believe the $20 was fair).
The taxi driver asked me where I was going and I said just take me to the heart of the city where there are bars and restaurants and hotels all within walking distance. The taxi driver responded that would be -- Via Espana.

This is NOT Mexico:



I have to admit I was starting to freak out on the travel to the city. Some kind of Panamanian music was playing on the radio and we were passing some pretty rough sections. I reminded me of going into some shit Mexican city....but once again that changed completely when I started to notice all the high rise building and megaplexes. What the fuck -- this place looks nicer than most U.S. cities.

Via Espana:

Via Espana is the financial district on Panama City and again I have to say it is very nice -- Beautiful high-rise condominiums and residences. Lots of designer shopping stores. Lots of very nicely dressed people walking the streets.
The driver dropped me off right in front of the Veneto Hotel and said this was basically the area I would feel comfortable in. Of course I saw a lot of single American guys walking around in shorts....they had to be mongers so I knew I was close to the action!
I have to admit, the guy could have fucked me over but I truly believe it seemed like a pretty good area. I did not want to screw around and since I right in front of a hotel, I thought I would go in and see what the rates were in this place.

Veneto Hotel:

Nice looking hotel with a nice lobby and what appeared to be a friendly staff. They claim to be 5-star. I would rate it as a nice Marriot/Hilton, so realistic maybe 3.5 stars. I went to front desk and ask how much for a room. All in with taxes was $144, which I thought was a decent price for what seemed comparably to some of Marriott hotels I usually stay.
I booked the room for one night and proceeded upstairs to shower and shave. Good-sized room with a very comfortable bed and large shower (for 2). After a quick shower, I went back downstairs to the front desk to ask where to go and get something to eat.
The reception desk of course recommended eating inside the hotel, but if I wanted something good and close that I could go across the street to Mangolo's or for something nicer to walk a block up to Cafe Pomodoro. I checked out Mangolo's and it looked pretty shitty and I was approached from some 2-bit whore. She offered sex and massage for $40 which I had to ignore. It was a bad move even talking to this girl as I was fast approached by panhandlers and taxi drivers offering me rides. I quickly headed back over to the hotel to seek refuge and the whore did not follow me. There was an amazing looking girl standing besides the hotel heading out coupons to the nearby Capri Bar which included $10 all-in for domestic beers. I asked how much for her and she did not respond, just suggested I check out the bar. I wanted to get out of there as more and more taxi drivers were approaching me promoting rides to girls and offering me "coke" (the white kind).

After hiding out in the hotel lobby for 5 minutes, I figured it was "safe" to return outside and hurry myself to the Cafe Primodoro restaurant. An attendant escorted me over and I offered him $1 for his trouble, which he refused.
I just sat outside and ordered a Cairprinha for $4. For the next 30-40 I was a bevy of very pretty girls enter this restaurants. Most seemed to be coming in with guys much older -- some clearly looking like American gringos. It seems like a nice place to take a nice girl for a dinner date. The inside oasis bar/restaurant is quaint. I order a filet mignon and pasta for $9.95. The meat was good, but the way they cooked was just so-so. All things considered it was in my opinion a cheap but good $15 meal.

Veneto Bar (or V-Bar):



After eating, I returned to the hotel to seek out maybe a girl to spend the night with. I was thinking that given the heart of seeing what I had already seen that it would be easy to pick up something in the casino area. So, I go upstairs to the mezzanine area and sure enough there is a group of 4-5 girls sitting at a table across from the bar. It was pretty obvious they were working girls, dressed in jeans and tight tops....AND they were all checking ME out with smiles.
A guy nearby at the bar suggested that those girls were certainly available but that we both agreed that the girls looked a little hard-core for our tastes.
Anyway, I will call this guy "G". G was a cool guy and roughly my same age and appeared to have game. G was a regular guy to the PC scene and I have to admit my fun that I had in the city were most attributed to his suggestions. To my surprise, one of the fucking taxi drivers I talked with outside tracked me down in the hotel.
He came over to me and said whenever I was ready, he would be waiting outside. He hinted about offering me once again coke. Now, I am sure coke is available easily in PC. I never do it and I don't know who would be stupid enough to even consider buying based off some taxi driver. I must have seen a 1/2 dozen police officers on that same street probably just waiting for some stupid-ass gringo wanting to buy drugs.

G-man mongering suggestions:

G-man was already slightly hazed over from what appeared to be a few rounds of Panamian beers. Which by the way were actually quite good. He gave me a round down on the latest action saying the Veneto Casino used to be the best place meets hot, sexy Colombianas. That was until a few months back, the place was raided and about 30 girls were taken away for violating their Visas. (More on this later).
Anyway, he went to talk about everything from the massage places to the strip bars to the hooker bars. The massage places he stated (coming from Rio) that I would be very disappointed with the sexual performances -- meaning covered blowjobs and professional sex. He stated that Golden Time was the best, but that again the sex service was going to border on piss-poor with just a pretty girl. I was not interested as I like a beautiful girl as much as any guy, but hate blow-up girl sex. He had mentioned a place called Elite, which he said normally, has great girls but was there the previous night and that it sucked.
G's recommendations for mid-budget but quality girls were Club Miami, Habano's Bar, and La Bodequita Bar. I said "Vamos!"

Habano's Cigar Bar:

We got a cab outside and took it over to Habanos. It seems like $5 will easily get you any place in the downtown area. Perhaps you can get less, but it was 2 guys and I don't really care if we could haggle a guy down to $3. Anyway, it seems like the cabride was only about 2-3 minutes. It was that close.
Habanos is right across from the Marriot Hotel, so if you there by yourself just ask a taxi driver to take you to the Marriot. There is big sign above the bar which says Havana Club (the rum). What can I say about this place -- it was about 20-25 Colombian working girls. Most were attractive, lots of variety from black to blonde/very pale skin. I could have easily selected 3-4 girls from this place I would have described as hot. All the girls were friendly and easily approachable. I really wanted to bit a very pretty black girl with a beautiful smile and perfect body. There were probably only 5-7 guys at this place and we were the only guys there that seemed determined to find some pussy. The others were more interested in smoking their cuban cigars.
After blowing one after another girl, I found a stunning Colombiana with gorgeous eyes. This girl had the classic out of proportion fake tits, which isn't my style but apparently G was interested. The night was young at not even 10:00pm so I had no intentions of taking a girl yet and I really wanted a girl for the night.
I want to say beers at this place were like $3, but I did not pay for them.

La Bodequita Bar:



So G, I and Colombian tits all jump into a taxi and head over to this place. Again, a very cheap ride of 2 minutes and $5. Upon arrival, it was no doubt this was another hooker bar. But, something about Colombian girls. They seem like more "classy" looking whores. Beautiful hair, nicely dresses and seems to have some style to them. Certainly not as tacky as Mexican whores and in my opinion overall prettier than Brazilian whores. I liked this place a lot better and I like the music as well. I ended up going for a beautiful morena with straight black hair and dark eyes -- the classic colombiana for Bogota. 20 years old and no silicone tits.
Drinks in this place were $5 and there was no cover charge, at least when we arrived. I really like this place and the music. It was a complete mix of classic
American dance songs, Samba, Salsa, and believe it or not they actually played a couple Brazilian funk songs. The girl "D" said she worked in club in Bogota and was a phenomenal dancer. She knew the movies to everything. Every time "D" and "Tits" would go to the bathroom together, 2 more girls would fast approach. More than willing to hand out their numbers and were very aggressive. This happened on all 3 occasions. Towards around midnight, the place got really packed. G and Tits decided to head out.
But, I was having a good time with my girl. She was not shy about open-mouth kissing and dirty dancing. I don't know if this standard with these girls, but
I was just going for it. Even if I went home empty handed, I was still having a good time with this girl and enjoying myself. At around the 1am mark, I was really starting to get antsy with lots of eye-candy around. I like my girl, but there seemed to be 3-4 better looking girls. It was at this moment, which I threw out the price question.
Hell, I was already with this girl for at least 2 hours and the question never came up. I told her I would give her $100 to take her home for the night. Her first response was where I was staying. I said the Veneto. She told me that her visa expired and that if she left the Veneto the police might catch her. Which I said all the reason to leave later in the normal morning hours and you won't have a problem. She countered with $150. I held strong and did not break. I said $100 or I was moving on to all the other available girls -- she quickly agreed. Dee and I stayed there until 2am and I have to admit I was tempted several times and ditch her for another girl. But, I got a good vibe with Dee and so we headed back to the hotel. Getting a taxi back to the hotel was another $5 and just about 2-3 minute ride.

Miami Club and Golden Time:

Never made it there. Never made it to Golden Time either. I probably go to both if time permitted.

Guest-Friendly Veneto:

There was absolutely no problem bringing Dee back to the hotel with me. There was a security guard standing at the beginning part of the escalator. He only asked me if I was staying at the hotel and let us goes up. He did not ask to see the girl's ID or even my key card. It was completely hassle free.

Colombiana Sex:

Having spent several weeks in Rio, I knew I was going to be disappointed with the sex. DATY, BBBJ, CIM, Ass-lick all seem pretty standard with Brazilian girls especially
ones I click with. The sex with this girl is what I would describe as girlfriend sex. Lots of kissing, hugging, caressing, pussy-fingering, dick rubbing. Overall Impression:

With such a short time in PC, it is hard for me to come to a solid conclusion. Would I return? -- Yes, definitely so. PC is a nice city, seems to be a bevy of very attractive Colombiana girls and prices seem right. A place like Rio offers an infinite amount of girl possibilities at every hour of the day plus the bonus of hanging out at the beach during the day. But, Rio is far and pricey. PC certainly beats any destination in Mexico for sure and I am very attracted to Colombian girls. I don't know if I could ever receive the porn-star sex I have become accustomed to in Rio -- sheer sports fucking. But, I miss the days of just hanging out with a pretty girl for the evening having a good time (without sex). It was a welcomed relief in Panama City to just have an enjoyable evening, and it seemed like mostly Americans. No faggy-dressed Italians (of Help) and the shirtless Brasilians (of the termas). And my overall impression was the Colombiana girls were just prettier and sweeter by far.

Speaking Spanish:

It was interesting that girls either spoke Spanish only or spoke English very well. The older(age 25 or so and up) seemed to know how to speak English. My spanish is pretty shitty, but I think it takes some fundamental skills to get by otherwise it is becomes real dull after 10-15 minutes. Also, each girl seemed to a "friend" -- english speaking one. Quite funny seeing them help each other out to land the score. Money still talks, but a little bit Spanish will make the evenings much more enjoyable.

In Summary:

Taxis to/from airport will run $20. Standard beers will run $1.50/2 and drinks $4/5. Massage girls seem to be $80. Shortime bar girls are $100 and all-nighter are easily available from $100-200 (or how much a guy is willing to spend). Decent meals are cheap at $10. I think I stayed in an ideal hotel which was $144, but I had heard there were okay options at $50. I am more an apartment guy in Rio, so not sure about that option in Panama City...probably so given all the residences in the city center.
There has not been a whole lot of recent info on PC, but I would say it is probably a very good option given my brief stay.

I usually take Copa to Lima, so I am always just one equipment failure from staying over in Panama City. Thes is an excellent short-stay guide.

Yes, I failed to mention that I was re-routed on Copa Airlines. They are basically the only airline in Panama City and hit a lot of Colombian cities. They are affiliated with Continental airlines OnePass.

Some things left out of the report after further review:

1.) The girl did not ask for money. Never even hinted to it after our initial discussion. It was until we started walking for the hotel door in the morning that I handed her the money. I like that and had she asked her for money before the sex I would have asked her to leave.

2.) All the girls were very friendly in the 2 bars I was in. All seemed interested in meeting and talking and laughing. There were so few guys in the places that really was a total buyer's market. Of the 50-60 girls in the places, I would say 1/2 were doable with probably 10 that were hot or very cute. None I would describe as being disgusting. The great thing was the variety. I saw some very sexy black girls I would have taken out even those I am partial to just tanned girls with dark hair.

3.) Duty free shops have good values on Rum. Really quality 15-20 aged Rums for $30. Make a point to visit some of the attractive girls offering samples (of the rums, not of themselves).

4.) Habanos Bar supposedly has very good selection of Cuban cigars (Cohiba). I could care less and a lot of girls inside say they hate outside because of this. Personally, I hate them too but understand many guys enjoy them.

5.) I did not dabble in this. But, there are also a number pharmacies there in the same area of Veneto Hotel. Apparently, many things can be obtained without a prescription.

My understanding is that 95% of the hookers in that area are Colombian girls. They come there specifically to work as hookers (perhaps maybe find a gringo to marry them). But, unlike a place like Rio where I have seen the same girls for the past 5 years in a place like Help; I am told that these girls only have a visa good for 1-year. Apparently, they are arrested and deported for over-staying.

Dam, dam dam...on my last trip to Colombia I had an option to stay in Panama City fora few days but because I needed a visa I decded to fly straight through, thanks for the intersting report.

I was debating a Copa flight to Columbia last year and saw there was no penalty for purposely doing a long layover in Panama. Sounds worth the stop for quality and if for nothing else, to add a country to one's monger resume and see a city a little. Hell, might be worth a four day weekend.

I had similar experience in Caracas a few years back during an unplanned overnight delay. From the shit hole of an airport, a taxi took me to a decent hotel in a more upscale area where I checked into Las Americas(?). I found an open air nice bar with well dressed working girls right across the street. Minor fuck-up in not knowing the pricing structure I declined two hotties for about each $50 US overnight. Later settled on a friendly marginal looker for about $50 US being too sheepish to go back to the hotties. Did get well rocked though. (granted, the $50 US equivalent was in black market Bolivars.. if it was a straight exchange at official rate it would have been equal to maybe $90 US at that time)

a couple of things...

veneto casino can be had for about 89-just over 100 on the web and they have shuttle service from the airport to their hotel for guests. There are also share ride vans from the airport which will set you back about 6-8 usd.

la bogedeguita has great talent and so does miami. Next time,go to those first, then use the other places as plan b imo.

taxi rides should be about 2-3usd. use aj's strategy.

That restaurant just across the street from the Veneto is "Manolos". Used to be a great place for SG's until the cops cracked down on SG's a few years ago.

Many, many of the working girls in PC are Colombianas there on a 1 year visa. Almost 100% of the girls at Golden Time are Colombianas.

Elite is a strip joint and IMHO a real rip off expensive place.

One very good restaurant for local fare that is somewhat of a legend is El Trapiche on Ave Argentina (about 3 blocks from the Veneto). Low cost but very good. Their Corvina (like a sea trout) in salsa de camarones is to die for.

Taxis from the airport are usually $20-$25 each way. Yes, the Veneto has an airport shuttle for guests. Taixs in town....just hand em $2-$3 and don't even ask the price. There are no meters! Locals will pay $1.50-$2.00 for most rides.

If you are more into a locals scene try TGI Fridays on a Friday evening just after work for Happpy Hour. Place is packed with locals (non working) but they are very friendly.

Many(educated)people in PC speak English but Spanish is very helpful for the hobby oriented visitor. You will also find their Spanish to be somewhat lacking in formality with many local idomas...IE: Instead of saying Buenas Dias, they will say Buen Dia. If you speak some Spanish, you will probably get it although you ear has to become accustomed to the differences.

Hemp, enjoy your trip there but don't expect to see a lot of blonds......LOL

The trip (if you even want to call it that) was completely UNPLANNED.... I only found myself in PC due to overbooking on another carrier out of Rio. Basically, if I did not take the flight I would have probably still be sitting in Rio today -- that is how bad everything was oversold/overbooked.
Shit, if there was a Marriott hotel right next to the airport in PC like most airports, I would have probably just checked in and watch a bowl game in the bar area, went to sleep and got up the next morning for the flight out. The airport is located in a remote area where there is absolutely nothing!

Also, the cab rides involved 2 or more people. I picked up the tab on the first ride, in return the guy I met in Veneto bought me beers in Habanos. And after spending 3 hours with a girl and it being 2-3am, maybe I should have asked her if she'd like to go on a romantic walk back to my hotel. So, I get it...I really do now. The taxi cost should have cost $2 instead of $5. So, the way I see it I lost $6 for not planning better ....future mongers please take note on this or you will be kicking yourself in the ass.

I don't have the complete timeline, but we left to go over to Habanos when it was halftime of the Fiesta Bowl -- I guess about 8pm local time. So, for the next 2-3 hours I probably talked with 5-6 Colombian girls at the aforementioned bars. Any one of them I would considered bringing back to my place because they were all pretty -- but, that was not my initial intention. I actually DID just want to hang out all night and take in what was there -- and that was a easily of 3:1 ratio of girls to guys. For example, a super cute girl at La Bodequita remained completely alone the entire night...it was heartbreaking see her face as I left. She was desperate to give me her phone number as the girl I was with, took one last bathroom break. (BTW, renting a local phone there seems like a good idea....girls seemed obsessed with their phones and giving out their numbers).

If I did not hook up with the girl I did, it would have still been a good time. I really enjoyed the music in La Bodequita -- I thought they have a good DJ, and I simply would have chosen another girl to hang out with, buy drinks and dance. Options were NOT sparse by any means.

The evening could have went so many different ways

-- I could have went to Oasis Massage next to Veneto and then went upstairs to the Capri Bar for beers from 7pm - 10pm. This is a newer place, so I would not be surprised there is some talent in there. However, since it is right next to Veneto that might be a issue for the expired-visa girls.

-- I could finished watching the Fiesta Bowl and picked one of the five girls sitting at the table 20 feet from me and taken her up to my room.

-- If I was an idiot, I could probably let one of the many taxi drivers take me to a rip-off strip joint.

The fact is there seems to be some good options in PC, at least what I observed. What was different about this place was how many more girls there were than guys. So, no it is not handing over your key to a termas garotas and up you go to some usually very good sex. It is also not some shitty Mexican bar buying stupid fucking overpriced ficha drinks just for a girl to hang out with you.
The only way I can compare is like going to Help many years ago when it was fun just to hang out with girls and the pricing was talked about after hanging out, not within the first 5 minutes.
So, you actually have to use a bit of charm, some humor and the willingness to embrace the naiveness of a new place with the girls. If you speak zero Spanish and just going to ask "how much to fuck me?", then I you probably better off just going to a massage place.

I posted a trip report, because the last PC one was talking about Latina Cupid or some nonsense like that. I wrote my trip report based off no other information than what I experienced.

The bottomline is that PC could very much be a worthwhile 3-4 long weekend trip. A lot of guys would waste much more in Vegas and come up with nothing, or this would be more fun and almost a sure thing....as far as female companionship.

I look forward to guys posting some more info. about this place.

Anyway, Panama is a small country and borders Colombia. Panama uses the American Dollar (USD) and the Canal brings in literally billions of US dollars into the economy. Colombian girls are granted a 1-year visa, so for a puta it is a good situation. They can tell their family they are going to work in a shopping mall or restaurant and instead be working as a whore where none of the family would be able to find out.

It is kind of like going to Tijuana, most 90% of the Mexican whores are not from Tijuana.

As for the "locals" -- this is going to come across as completely politically incorrect, but Panamanians are short, indigenous people who are mostly fat with ugly faces. When you go out, it is fairly obvious who are Colombians and who are Panamanians. Are their Panamanian prostitutes? -- sure, but 95% of the prostitutes in downtown PC are Colombianas. And that is not a bad thing, it is not like all the girls are all dark-haired "Shakiras". There are fair-skinned blondes to black girls with exotic eyes. So, you get a good mix of girls from all over Colombia.

Is this a strictly mongering destination -- No. There are much betters options for that, but if you were stuck there for a few days there is enough P4P scene there to keep oneself entertained. Keep in mind, this place had less than 1M people. Cities like Medellin and Bogota are much bigger in comparison and of course are going to have a lot more options. For example, I am sure there are burroughs (like Copacabana) in Rio de Janeiro that probably have more people than the entire metro area of PC.

Just a little update on PC. I just returned from a 3 day trip (Visa Run). Beautiful and expanding city, Veneto Hotel is very nice. Unfortunately the Mayor of the city is cracking down on the Colombian Chicas that are visiting and working there. This weekend they deported many back to Colombia. Ok trip but I will not return. Also unfortunately I hit the Veneto Hotel when they were full of Cruise Ship guests (lot of older "couples" and for sure the women did not want to see a lot of Hot Colombian girls walking around and hitting on their husbands. Those are not just any cruises -- those are "World" Cruises in which people pay $30,000 and up for the trip of a "lifetime". They have several of these that always start the voyage in January departing out of South Florida, transit through the Panama Canal and go down and around South American tip and over towards Europe. It was probably just really bad timing as you are right -- a hotel full of 200 older, rich couples willing to gamble their money away. Why risk pissing off even one guest so they probably booted out all the putas.

So many mixed reviews about PC. Some say you get plenty of GFE action while others say you mostly get emotionless, blow-up doll action. I probably would buy a mult-destination ticket and stop in PC for a couple of days with low expectations and afterwards head off the Colombia where I can drown myself in GFE. IMHO

I would say that since the definition of GFE can be pretty broad, it can be hard to get a general consensus. My opinion on Panama City - and I haven't been there in over three years - is that it's a solid step up from everywhere else in Central America. Good service can be found but it's hit or miss. Since my definition of good service is a fun attitude, good BBBJ, enthusiastic fucking, that sort of thing, it's more miss than hit but less so in Panama than in a lot of places.

I wouldn't advise going there for a long trip. A three-day weekend should do the trick. There is good variety there though, not just in women but in venues. Massage joints, in-call stuff, outcall, puta clubs, puta clubs with on-site rooms, etc.

I agree with the above comments. Most of the hookers are Columbianas. On our last trip we went to Miami Club and liked it the best. Surprisingly, the girls we met in the Miami Club were Panamanian. Maybe we were lucky that weekend but most were 9's. Up until going there we didn't meet any locals. The local girls do have a little resentment for the imports. They also speak much better English.

Lung Fong is a very nice high end Chinese restaurant. Rino's Italian on Frederic Boyd and Calle 49 is also very good.
