So I signed up for the 100,000 point/miles deal with British Airways last year, and went to use those points for a round trip business class seat, only to find out that they had changed the requirements for how many points you need for a flight from LAX to BKK.
You now need 170,000 points for that flight, not the original 100,000 Looks like it's going to be business one way and economy on the return.

I am not familiar w/ British Airway current rules but previously the imposed a HUGE penalty for mixing airlines so be sure the flights you are looking at are all on the same airline.

I looked recently, it was 110,000 miles. I've got 110,027. Time to start looking....
Not sure what the best way is to get into the OneWorld booking info, though, or how to get the reservation...

Sign into your BA account on the British Airways web site, and find a link for "spending Avios" that will get you to where you can find what flights are going where.
It will show BA flights first and then you can search on partner airlines, by dates.

Thanks, Roadglide, that's easier that I thought. If only biz class seats were available....

I ended up using my BA points to book two tickets to Rio direct on AA (from NYC). That cost me exactly 100k plus $167.

The fuel surcharges that BA has on award tickets are absolutely insane. They're usually the cost of a coach ticket.

That's why I'm planning on going on another OneWorld airline. BA apparently flies to BKK, but those upcharges....
