EVA is running a special for travel booked on their web site. The travel period is March 1 – December 31, 2003. You MUST be a member of their FF club PRIOR to booking your tickets!
Purchase your ticket on evaair.com and earn extra bonus miles. Travel from North America & Europe gets a minimum of a 5,000-mile per trip bonus for Economy & Evergreen Deluxe tickets. (Business & First Class gets a minimum of 7,000 bonus miles.)
Also you will be automatically entered to win free ticket. With each trip booked through the web site.
For all the details visit:
http://www.evaair.com/html/global/english/gb_en_evaair_home/0,1691,sRecordName%253D1000000008%2526Lang%253D02%2526DBTable%253Deva%25255Fpreference%25255Fdt%25255Fgb%25255Fcontent,00.html
I know, that’s one hell of a URL!
At this point, I’m not sure if you get the bonus miles per booking or per flight. If it’s per flight, that would be 10,000 miles per round trip! (If anyone can get EVA to confirm one way or the other on this, I’d love to know) If it is 10K per RT that’s almost enough to get you a full RT upgrade from Economy->Deluxe class for your next trip when combined with your actual miles!
Just one way to extend your travel value!
Chok Dee,
StrikeEagle

Not quite as nice as the AA deal, but not bad.
Since the two lowest pubished fares from BOS-SFO that meets their requs come to 860 (tax included) and my flight from bos-bkk can be had for 720, it doesn't make much sense for me to rush out for this one.

In terms of earning miles by NOT flying, United may be a bit easier than American. Both of them seem to be tied together with the usual car rental agencies, the same hotel groups, and similar credit card deals. Also, they both offer partnerships with financial companies dealing with home sales/purchases and refinancing. Where United pulls ahead is in the brokerage area and female "necessities of life". American has just TD Waterhouse while United has them plus E Trade and Ameritrade. Since anyone investing in the stock market these days is probably using on online service it only makes sense to pick up a slug of free miles for opening an account tied with a FF program. See both Untied and American sites for details.
In the female necessities category United has a "mall" where numerous name brand retailers are located. They all offer a minimum of $1 in miles for every $1 purchased. Some have promotions where you can earn as many as $4 for every $1. Add the fact that you will be paying with your FF credit card and you automatically are getting $2 in miles for every $1 spent. Stores include virtually every name you can think off. The Gap, Lands End, Norstrums, Old Navy, Target, Macys, Frontgate, Eddie Bauer, JC Penny, etc. You get the idea. Even Staples is there so maybe the man in the house can find something also.

DM,
You are correct, the United Deal is not that great. I posted it for people that may have to travel for work purposes anyway.
It would have been perfect for me, I need to visit girls in both places. But unfortunately the time frame sucks.

I received this email. I'm already Platinum, and receiving double miles anyways.
I'm curious to know if by using this promo, will I receive triple miles?
That would jazz me up big time.
By d'Artagnan on Thursday, February 10, 2005 - 06:18 pm: Edit |
I called AA. Yes, Platinum members get triple miles.
By Dongringo on Thursday, February 10, 2005 - 10:05 pm: Edit |
Cool - thanks D'Art.
I just emailed AA Aadvantage for written confirmation. It is important to note that you have to register for the promotional code before you can use it, AND any reservations you make BEFORE you register will not qualify for the promotional code.
You can register for this code by going to https://www.aa.com/offers
Once I have written confirmation, I think I am going to buy several trips.

United has the same offer also with same dates.
By Lou32d on Friday, February 11, 2005 - 05:57 pm: Edit |
this is probably for another thread but I am looking at the AA Advantage and AA Citi card, seem to be the best mileage deals/combo. I want to build miles to go economy from NYC to DR or CR. But AA has some F-ed up flight schedule availabilities. Forget about going straight to POP from JFK. Going to NYC to SJO is like an 11 hour ordeal. I just wish continental one pass had a lower award threshholds.
One passmiles from BKK trip can go toward AA awards (18k miles) but maybe you gotta live near an AA hub or something to be able to use those miles practically.
By Lou32d on Friday, February 11, 2005 - 06:03 pm: Edit |
Talk about deals, going R/T to BKK from JFK thru HK for $617. It's a special on Cathay Pacific website. LAX to BKK R/T was like $549- straight up. That's where you sign up for the Asia miles/one world miles (which is partnered w/AA)

D'art, great info, thanks for posting this. Any platinum hombres with a few extra days and even a semblance of a slush fund should jump on this.
Lou, those are pretty good prices, but from what I've heard about AA's FF program, you better check to see if those fares qualify for this FF offer, and you likely can't exchange the miles from partner programs once they hit accounts other than the AA prgram.

Great info, thanks!
By Laguy on Monday, May 15, 2006 - 11:36 am: Edit |
Thanks for the info. The link for the double miles promotion at AA is http://www.aadvantage25.com/home.php. Note tickets must be purchased at www.aa.com, not a ticket office. Also, if you are going to do this, you should read all the other fine print that accompanies the offer.

If you are platinum, will you get quadruple miles?
