After searching all around on the net, I've found really nothing that can tell you how to travel as an air courier. I would imagine that there are many people on this board who would fit into the ideal situation for a courier. Has anyone here had any experience and care to share it with their fellow mongers?

If you have a flexible job, can afford to be stranded for a couple of days at your destination etc etc. courier travel is for you; otherwise look for fare sales.

My job is exactly like that, it's great! Now I just need to be able to capitalize on it! Problem is trying to find places that use Houston as a place of exportation.

I have no personal experience with any of these. I have not partaken in such risky travel arrangements

I've long been a aircourier.org member, but never had the time or opportunity to take a courier flight. From what I could tell, the main advantage would be taking a last minute flight, but they always had to be out of Los Angeles or San Francisco and seemed really inconvenient. Then I didn't see any last minute flights for a long time.
I just logged in now and there are a few available. They've redone the site, so I'll keep an eye out for any spectacular deals.
Here's what they currently have for last minute:
New York - Bangkok $350 leaving 1/20-1/23
Los Angeles - Singapore $300 leaving 1/22-1/24
Los Angels - Hong Kong $300 leaving 1/22-1/24
If you can get ahold of "Bingo", I recall he's traveled as an air courier.

Travelling as a courier is really easy. It'll only take you about 2 hours of your time, tops. I flew last year from NYC to BKK for $450.
Only downside is that your departure is set. If there's an emergency and you have to come back immediately, then you're stuck.
