So Delta accepts China Airlines frequent flyer miles. Continental accepts Delta miles. But Continental isn’t partnered with China Airlines (well, I could find no indication of such on Continental’s website). Which leaves me to wonder if I transferred China miles to Delta, would Continental accept them from Delta? Anyone tried this?
I would call Delta and Continental myself but I’m out of the country at the moment.

If you are looking for Continental miles fly EVA instead of China Airlines.
I'm pretty sure there is no way to use China Airlines Miles on Contenental.

Bendejo, you should first check if China Air will permit you to transfer your miles to Delta FF account (often not permitted unless you use a third party-strawman). When Delta "Accepts" China Air miles, they probably mean that you can use China Air Miles towards getting FF Delta Tix.
Assuming this can be done, once you get the FF miles into Delta, you can use DETLA FF miles to purchase Continental TX or other SKYTEAM TX as they are Skyteam Partners. I doubt fellow Skyteam members will permit transfer of points between other Skyteam members -- i.e. NWA will not permit me to transfer NWA points into my CO account.
Only slight Drawback I can see is that DELTA is having some serious financial difficulties, possibly Bankruptcy. I doubt this will affect your Delta FF points/miles as they will keep it alive one way or the other; but it may impact availability, customer service, etc.
Another drawback is that Delta Medallion is fairly stingy with the free TX or upgrades, as is CO.
