That bites the big one. Damn Houston to Cali Continental flight is far and away the best I've ever experienced--coming and going.
Is there any way to get to Colombia without having to go through Miami? Anything but Miami...

Quilombo,
There are ways to get to colombia without going through Miami. I also try to avoid that airport.
Avianca has routes to Cali, MDE and Bogota from NYC. There is a nonstopto MDE and Bogota, one stopoff in Colombia for Cali.
Copa/Aerorepublica can get you into anywhere in colombia via Panama City.
Delta has a direct from Atlanta to Bogota, connections can be made to other cities.
Lacsa can get you to Bogota via SJO, Costa Rica.
Spirit can get you to colombian cities by way of FLL, (FtLauderdale). Not a great airport either but at least it is not Miami.
Avianca can get you to colombia via FLL also.
AeroMexico and Mexicala can get you to Colombia from the west coast and other locations. But I think they all have a stop in Mexico city.
Further, Continental will still continue their nonstop flights from Houston and Newark to Bogota. Avianca and Aerorepublica can get you to anywhere you want to go from there.
See? Access to Colombia without going through MIA. There may be more routes, these are just the ones that I am aware of.
Happy Trails.

Quilombo,
to add to Bliss' info; "Further, Continental will still continue their nonstop flights from Houston and Newark to Bogota." Also to Panama, connecting with Copa and Aerorepublica, which can get you to anywhere you want to go from there.

Here are a couple of new ones as well:
Avianca's new direct flight from IAD Washington started today...to Bogota direct. leaves around 5:00 in the afternoon which allows for a lot of same day connections. Mostly UNITED it is one of their main hubs or anybody else who might get you there to Washington. DELTA codeshares with Avianca so that might be a good fare?
Yes, Spirit from Fort Lauderdale starting July 24th but the flight leaves at 10:30 AM so you might have an overnight stay from the midwest or west coast?

Sadly, Delta quit codesharing with Avianca on June 1. I think Avianca got the red ass about Delta appying for the new direct routes from Atlanta to MDE and Cali.

Thanks for the info. I'd rather walk from Beaumont to El Paso (on my hands) than fly through Miami...

Miami does suck. I'd rather sit at home and jerk off than have to go somewhere via Miami. Fuck Miami!

I notice Denpasar is on the canceled list. That kinda sucks. I was actually thinking of taking that one sometime for the FF miles. And not that anyone else will care but Saipan-Manila was canceled and I actually had an award ticket booked that had that flight. Mow I get into Manila 4 hours later.
