What is it exactly that you "hope" Obama will "change" in his second term?

Will it be a downgrading of the USA's AAA credit rating? Will it be unemployment going to double digits? The markets...real estate...falling again and again?

Just what do you expect exactly if Obama has a second term? Do you really think change will happen for the better?

I honestly haven't seen positive change in since Obama has been President. Even the markets now seem to be retreating.

Yes, Obama is the one that won't raise the debt ceiling, which is threatening the US credit rating. As far as the stock market, compare the indexes from where they were on January 19th, 2009 and right now. Look at the jobs numbers from the end of 2007 until January 19th, 2009. How many jobs were lost or created in that 16 month period compared to the last 16 months.

We haven't seen you on the board in a month or so, Portege. You haven't gotten any less stupid during the interim.

I was hoping he would execute all of those idiots who insist on creating mindless and endlessly stupid political discussions on websites devoted to whore mongering.

Looks like I'm being set up for disappointment again....

He won the Nobel Peace Prize and still manages to simultaneously militarily occupy two countries while bombing three additional countries. I'd say that's one heck of an accomplishment. It's been great for me. The missile part making business has never been better. Not even under GW. That means good paying American job's that can't be outsourced to China and everyone knows good quality American missiles are still the best missiles on the planet. I pains me to admit, Obama has been good for my finances.

Now if all these Dollars I've been making lately are still worth the paper they are printed on. <cringe>

Oh boy, another Protege rant...based on history, this will become one long useless post.

Lets get back to important topics & banging ho's.....

Ummm. This is the Off-Topic: Politics section.

So actually, posting about mongering in this section would be off topic.

Politicians are amongst the biggest whores and whoremongers there are, thus discussion of whoremongering is entirely topical in is a political thread

IAS is right, but there's not a one of them I'd fuck, including the two darlings of the Teabaggers. I'd rather dip my dick in acid.

But just to give Portege his due...hey, Portege. You're not really as stupid as your post implies, are you? The markets are in retreat? You look at short-term fluctuations and conclude that the market is trending? Hey, I've got a bridge you might be interested in buying.

Bwana, you may not want to fuck them, but they all sure as hell want to fuck you. In fact, I think it's fair we are all totally fucked.

Anthony's weiner was a welcome distraction for the republicans. While all the corporate media was wasting time on that story the GOP was busy making plans to kill America by playing chicken with the debt ceiling.

The problem is not the off-topic discussion, but rather the anti-Obama Bullshit with Bullshit fact statements that appear from Protege every few months....I do admit it certainly passes as "off topic", but maybe another category should be created called "useless dribble"

Catocony is just like one of those guys who bought into CSCO back in 2000. As the CSCO stock collapsed he still held fast to the ideal that CSCO could never go down and to buy on any dip. Much in the same way, Catocony bought into Obama's great society of "hope and change" back in 2008. Maybe he even still has the bumper sticker on the back of his car. When the United States is in a second recession with unemployment in the double digits will Catocony relent and admit that voting for Obama was simply a "bad idea" or maybe he might just keep telling himself that it was all "Bush's fault".

Im here today delivering a message that you refuse to listen and understand. You have a President who won the Nobel Peace Prize but shot Osama in the head and bombed 3 countries simultaneously. Whatever happened to putting Osama in a Nuremberg style trial? Whatever happened to peace and diplomacy? Obama has made the Nobel Peace Prize a joke. I no longer hold the reward in such a high regard.

My expectation if Obama is elected to a second term is for double digit unemployment, more wars in the Middle East, the downgrading of Americas credit rating...oh I could go on.

Let me tell you about being an American. Being an American does not mean copying some foreign countries policy on healthcare and going against the Constitution by mandating everyone buy healthcare insurance. Being an American does not mean supporting an agenda that creates record setting levels of unemployment, being an American does not mean continuing on with three completely worthless wars in which our sons and daughters die in daily...

If you want to be an American, then you will vote for someone else besides Obama in the next election. If you do not enjoy how America once was, then you are free to renounce your citizenship and move elsewhere to where your ideals are more closely aligned.

Please Catocony, renounce your citizenship and move to somewhere else. Obviously, your ideals are not closely aligned with being an American.

Fucktard, put down the shovel, you've dug a big enough hole for yourself at this point.

Well, I guess I can't resist feeding the troll:

Okay Portege, rather than engage in wild speculation about things that aren't going to happen during Obama's second term, one thing (among other things) I look forward to in Obama's second term is Bin Laden continuing to be dead.

By Portege on Sunday, June 19, 2011 - 06:45 pm:  Edit

Wild things that are not going to happen during Obama's term? You mean Greece wont go insolvent?

http://www.smh.com.au/business/theres-no-way-out-greenspan-20110617-1g7y2.html

Do you mean that Moody's was just kidding when they said they might downgrade the USA's credit rating? Was that just a joke?

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/03/us/politics/03congress.html

How about real estate? Does this look like a bullish graph to you where you just want to jump right in and buy a house?
http://investmenttools.com/median_and_average_sales_prices_of_houses_sold_in_the_us.htm

Guess what? Obama's approval rating is on the move again and it aint up. For shits and giggles, lets predict just how low it will go. By the end of 2012, I say that it will probably go to 30% as unemployment becomes an even bigger problem.

All those young folks who supported Obama are now looking for a job and they cant find one or maybe they found one at the local burgerhut. These are Obama's orphans. The ones that Obama left behind.

By Laguy on Sunday, June 19, 2011 - 07:31 pm:  Edit

I didn't realize Obama was the President of Greece. Silly me.

According to http://www.shadowstats.com/ unemployment is already well into the double digits.

From what I've heard about the site, they calculate government stats the way the actual government did 30+ years ago.

As an example, they haven't always excluded food and energy when calculating the rate of rising prices due to inflation. Nowadays they do but once upon a time they didn't.

Is it surprising that they now don't? After all, if you were writing your own report cards - and you weren't doing things as well as you used to - wouldn't you change the way you assess results?

A funny thing about Usama Bin Laden:

His FBI Most Wanted Terrorist profile doesn't specifically say he was wanted as a suspect in the attacks of 911. In fact it doesn't mention that event at all - yet the justification for going into Afghanistan was to get Bin Laden. If you recall, Condi Rice said they'd go in (to Afghanistan) first, get him, then produce the evidence (about his involvement in the attacks) later.

They never did show the evidence.

CC: Do you have a coherent point to make? Because it doesn't seem like you do.

By Catocony on Monday, June 20, 2011 - 08:04 am:  Edit

CC, the reason that food and oil prices are not included in core inflation is due to high fluctuations. When oil was $10 a barrel in the mid-90s, it wasn't included. Now that it's $100 a barrel, it isn't included. Gas is cheaper this week than last. It will probably be even cheaper next week, but it could be a lot pricier in two months.

As far as all the conspiracy theories regarding unemployment rates, it does not pick up people who don't want to work, or are too lazy or too stupid to find some form of work. They are not included in the rate. People who are working for low pay when they used to make higher aren't counted as unemployed. They frequently are in the "shadow/real unemployment" numbers.

There have been a lot of very stupid guys setting up shop at CH over the past few years. Usually they are deemed stupid by us unwashed on the board before they start posting political threads, and once they start posting, it tends to re-affirm our initial findings. Portege was deemed an idiot by writing trip reports and posting information about places he had never been. His political rantings, just like Beachman's and others before him, only confirm our initial findings.
