Here's one of my pics I always thought was pretty cool, as I stated on RS I almost toppled over into the altar but the amiga I was with grabbed my belt just as I started to go....wotta gal!

Ah, the AB alter.
How many of us have had our chica curtsy and genuflect as she led us to un cuarto?
Just serves to remind us that no matter what these gals do for a living, their religion is still VERY important to many of them. (just take note of the number of crosses that adorn las chicas in any bar in la zona) It's a good thing to keep in mind, when dealing with the Mexican people in general, just how important Catholicism is to their culture.

And don't forget how important Tweety is to them too!

LOL
Seriously, does anyone know why Tweety IS so popular with las chicas?? He seems MUCH more popular than ANY other cartoon character around; WB or Disney.

LOL
Red, Strikeeagle, that is so true! I have known chicas that had staggering collections of Tweety paraphernalia. Having sex in a tiny room while tons of Tweetys of all different sizes seem to be staring down at you with those eyes is really kinda creepy!!

I never saw this altar when I was there in April... is it still there?

Yes, it is still there and the girls still pay homage as they walk by.

One more time;
Piolin (pronounced pee-oh-leen', and known to us gringos as "Tweety") is the unofficial mascot of Tijuana.
As Tweety is, in the cartoons, constantly about to be consumed by a big voracious pussy (Sylvester), and given what I am usually doing in La Zona, there may be a metaphor here.
