Just acquired a Nokia 3650 GSM phone from AT&T. So far it looks like it could be the ultimate monger gadget based on the following features:
1. GSM SIM Card - You can either pay the hefty world roaming charges or simply buy a local SIM card at your destination for cheap local rates. Best part is when you return home and put your US SIM card back in, you will not have to deal with pooying/chica/garota calls.
2. Integrated web/pda/email/imap4 - connect to your pop3 and web accounts, synchronize contacts/tasks/calander with outlook.
3. Integrated camera - good for vga stills and video - no flash. Not too bad, actually, and you can send them instantly to Clubhombre!
4. Integrated Bluetooth, infrared and modem. Easy to transfer files, and you can use it to connect your laptop to the web without any funky cables.
5. SD card - plenty of convenient storage.
6. Integrated currency converter.
7. Gameboy quality games for those long flights.
8. Color display and integrated real player for mpegs and mp3s.
Downside is that it is a bit large. About the size of the old Nokia 2600 series phones. But for a phone/camera/pda combo, its tiny.
I havent had the opportunity to explore and test all the features, but on the surface, this phone holds great promise.
