I would also add to Beachman's post, Mr. Shit-for- brains Kendricks, that the reason people actually used ad-hominem attacks on you is that you responded with exactly the type of personal attacks that you are decrying here to LEGITIMATE arguments that were posited by others. The views that set you off were about the rationale of an intelligent, measured response, specifically targetted at the perpetrators and governments responsible for the heinous crimes, and not at civilians who just happened to live in the countries that harbored Bin Laden.

Your "rational" response was to call people, including your Commander in Chief, "pussified bitches and faggots"

These arguments were put forth for some VALID REASONS: The maintaining ethical differentiation between us and the clear enemies of freedom who perpetrated this act and who harbored them, both because it is the right thing to do, and because we have some allies who have to maintain the relationships with their own populations. In addition, there is the highly desireable goal of trying to mitigate the danger of future terrorism rather than catalyzing it to an even greater level in the future, by creating huge numbers of orphans and displaced refugees who won't have any other perspective except that the nation that made them orphans and refugees has got to pay.

But, Mr. Shit-for-brains Kendricks, you can't have it both ways. Either you TRY (as futile as it might be for YOU) to fashion a reasonable argument to this position, and people will deal with you on a rational level, or you launch off in tirades of obscenities. So, if all YOU can do is scream "FAGGOT" at the top of your lungs at anyone who tries to apply a little brains to the equation, and start mouthing off disgusting slander on the Commander in Chief of what is, unfortunately, the country you have been asked to serve, OF COURSE people will use YOUR nauseating personal character as a means of negating the position that you hold. After all, it's too damn easy.

So, I challenge you to actually reply to the substance of this post, beyond just coming back with some unsubstantiated and in fact SILLY personal attack. I'd be pleasantly surprised if you did, but I'm not holding my breath.

By Kendricks on Tuesday, September 18, 2001 - 04:39 am:  Edit

Dman,

Let me lay it out for you simply. All of the talk you hear about "confronting evil" is propaganda. War is "us v. them", and nothing more. There is no clear ethical distinction between "us" and "them", and to think otherwise is hopelessly naive. If you think the USA is pure and innocent, you are seriously deluded. But, that does not matter to me - since "they" attacked "us", we need to get off of our collective fat, soft, lazy asses, find some resolve, and rip the balls of off the Islamic cocksuckers who dared attack our land.

As far as the prez goes, he is supposed to be the servant of the people, not the master. I have every right to heap derision on hom when he fails to act in my interests. If you don't like it, too bad. But I refuse to put G.W.'s pampered redneck ass on a pedestal, as you have apparently done.

Bush's initial response to this incident was not only weak, it was nauseating. Thanks to Americans like me, who stood up and demanded more, he has finally started to clean up his act.

There is an old fable about an Emperor who had no clothes, but was told he was wearing a fine suit. Since all of his subjects feared to speak against him, they all complimented him on his fine clothing, while he walked around naked. Finally, he was jolted from his ignorance when a small child yelled, "Look! The Emperor has no clothes!"

In case you missed the references, you and bitchman are the cowardly subjects who are afraid to step out of line, while I am the brave soul who dares to speak the truth, and do my part to force positive results.

I hope this wasn't too much reality in one post for you to deal with. Feel free to return to slinging personal insults, since that is all either you or bitchman really have any aptitude for.

Beachman,

I'm going to jump in here at the risk of being ignored (as usual) and wasting my time, or flamed on which would at least provide some brief entertainment.

I have said before and I will say it one more time.

1)You criticize Kendricks for his for potentialy endangering his family members by his adventures in his secret life. You call him a coward and say that he feels his family is not worthy to receive all of him.

Remember since the beginning of time married men have sought out coutisans, conquebines, geishas,
whores etc for their company and talants on all levels.

Granted the playing field has changed with so many new diseases the risks are higher for all of us.

That fact remains however that in a vast part of the world married men seeking out the association of these women is not only common but often expected as a benchmark of marriage especially in South America and especially Asia.

Is it right or is it wrong? Guess what that just the fucking way it is.

2) I guess you could make the same judgements about me, a married man, rolling the dice with my health and life and God forbid the life and health of my wife.

3) I can only speak for myself though and as I have said before, for me chicas are like any other drug with all the same potential short or long term complications and possible consequenses.

For me I recognize it as a disease, certainly mental and emotional, hopefully never physical.
Actually I've been try to quit and have cut waaaay
back from my previous exploits.

4) Anyone who is fucking around down there on a regular basis, IMHO, most definitely has a couple of screws loose (but it does allways seem like such a good idea at the time).

If you think you don't, and think you are a well balanced and rational individual,IMHO, I would schedual some appointments with a shrink asap because IMHO you are really fucking out there.

Rationalization can be a beatiful thing, especially when it feels soooo good.

5) I must admit you do have one thing over Kendriks myself and some of the other married guys
on this board. You only have disregard for you self. Our lives unfortunately are not as simple as yours.

6) You talk about honor, values, hypocricy, truth
come on man give me a fucking break.
When your halo starts shining then start throwing stones at the rest of us.

PS Professional sports suck. LOL

Shit for brains Kendricks:

--> Bush's initial response to this incident was not only weak, it was nauseating. Thanks to Americans like me, who stood up and demanded more, he has finally started to clean up his act. <--

I just thought I would highlight YOUR OWN WORDS, since I cannot think of any better way to characterize your self-important stupidity than YOU already have. Do you HONEST TO GOD think that it was because of you and your ilk's whining that Bush has evolved his position? Perhaps it might more to the point be that he has had a chance to move past gut reactions, and have well thought through inputs from highly qualified advisors. And, if you will notice, what IS happenning now is, Colin Powell's rationally thought-through doctrine of developing an international consortium INCLUDING MOSLEM ALLIES, to deliver a targetted, measured response, directed to RESPONSIBLE parties and governments, is happenning. Which was exactly what I advocated. So, not only are you a hypocrite, as Beachman has already pointed out, but you are so dense that you can't even follow the contradictions in YOUR OWN arguments.

BTW, for the record, I'd like to enunciate my position EXACTLY on Bush, although I doubt that I can simplify this enough for Mr. Kendricks to understand, I DO think that it is a position that is held by MANY patriotic Americans:

I DID NOT vote for him, did not like many of his positions, and I did not feel he was fairly elected. However, our process moved past this, and He WAS installed in office. The time for THAT debate is now fully passed. He is MY President, and our system makes his leadership VITAL, in dealing with threats from outside the nation. It is FUNDAMENTAL to our system a democratic nation, that while we may be legitimately divided on internal issues of self-governance, we are UNIFIED as ONE NATION against external threats to our way of life. Patriotic Americans will support the President whenever we face so clear an enemy, and when that threat is eliminated, we can go back to our own internal debates about self governance. But Job #1 for the government is to preserve our lives and our way of life. There is NO political Debate over that. Anyone who would, through their lack of support at such a time WEAKEN the ability of the government to respond, had better be DAMN sure that they can abide with the result of a failed response. Such an argument is reasonable when the battle is on foreign soil, and the enemy has been dubiously identified as such (Vietnam is a prime example of this). But not here.

When the enemy has taken the battle directly to American Soil, and ended the lives of thousands of American Civilians, the time for any such debates is over. The ONLY debates that ought to be countenanced at this point, are the best ways with which to prevail, and the debate is only carried to the point that the response is refined and strengthened. At that point, ALL Americans get in line to execute the plan of our chosen leaders. Then, when that business is done, we go back to our own partisan internal debates.

Kendricks, though I admire your loyalty and support for the US(and like your reports and limericks), Dman does have a point when he mentions the ad hominem attacks you have used against others.

Rather than calmly discussing the pros/cons of an immediate strike vs a planned strike, you leapt into a tirade about how EVERYONE that disagrees with you are pussies, faggots, etc...

From your ad hominem post:
"Rather than criticize a person's premises or reasoning, an ad hominem asserts something about the person's character, associations, occupation, hobbies, motives, mental health, likes or dislikes, etc."

How does calling people naive, stupid, pussies, deluded, faggots, etc. address the argument (be it correct or incorrect) that bombing innocent civilians will create more terrorists and lower the US's standing in the eyes of the rest of the world?

Also from your ad hominem post:
"If what is said about the person is false, in addition to being irrelevant, two fallacies are committed, false premise and irrelevant premise."

I do not know Dman nor Beachman, but in the post at the very top of this thread you commit this double fallacy against my good friend Hippie, who IMHO is one of the most respected posters on this site and also one of the most well known among the TJ regulars who've chosen to associate in person with one another.

In the original Hijacking thread, your response to Hippie's comment about Star Wars, the scientists that work on it, and the funding for it, is to sarcastically suggest that Hippie claims to be an expert, both false and irrelevant. It gets worse when you accuse Dman, Beachman, and Hippie (and everyone else that disagrees with you?) of supporting bin Laden. That false claim makes you appear to be one who "knows how to play on the emotions of people and seduce them into transferring their attitude of disapproval for a person to a belief in disagreement with that person's position"

As I said at the start of this post, you post well when writing reports and limericks, but your personal attacks on individuals and groups of people who disagree with you are sure to lower your reputation on this board.

Just kidding, of course, my friend. I doubt you will see any intelligent response to your post, which makes you correct not only in content, but in predictions. I also agree that pro sports suck, and are a huge waste of time, energy and $$$. I'm glad I have more interesting things to fill my hours than rooting for a bunch of grown men who play children's games for huge sums of cash.

Dman:

I think that all of our politicians, and especially their advisors, have their finger in the air, trying to figure out which way the wind is blowing, before they make any "decisions". They are still not going to go off half-cocked, but public reaction, as we have seen so many times, does guide the general direction of their policies. I also don't think that pretending that Bush's original reaction was adequate or respectable (it was embarassing, if the truth be told) is appropriate or productive. Let's give the man some honest feedback, for christ's sake.

d'Artagnan:

I'm glad you like my trip reports and limericks. The whole issue of the USA being attacked by Islamic extremists is an extremely emotional one for me, and I do admit that I have stooped to the level of slinging insults out of rage. Fortunately, I have never claimed to be an angel, or I would be feeling rather foolish right now.

To all:

I propose that we attempt to elevate this conversation to a point where people attempt to actually communicate their thoughts, instead of simply shouting "faggot" and "shit-for-brains". Is anyone up to the challenge?

Kendricks,

I accept that challenge. I would also add that saying that Bush should have handled the response the 1st day differently (an opinion I agree with, BTW) is a little different from calling him a "pussified bitch". Frankly, I think his major problem the 1st day was he let Cheney and the Secret Service run him around from bunker to bunker. But NOBODY knows how they would react if they were used to letting Cheney run things tactically, and the Secret Service run things logistically, and all of a sudden, the world changed on you. I NEVER thought Bush had the experience base for the job. But he DOES seem to be growing into it.

By Kendricks on Tuesday, September 18, 2001 - 09:26 am:  Edit

Beachman, I find it odd that your acceptance of a challenge to end the name calling and personal attacks is prefaced by your juvenile "shit for brains" comments, and that you guys take statements directed at Bush so personally. Whatever.

In any event, I sincerely hope that Bush's pampered, sheltered redneck ass does grow into the job. I really do wish we had someone strong, foreceful and charasmatic, and who earned his position, instead of having it handed to him - like Reagan or G.H. Bush - running things. Of course, the simple presence of either of these men in the white house probably would have deterred such an attack in the first place.

Personally, the reserved, timid response we have been hearing from many people, the people against using force for fear of retaliation, and all of the crying, praying and hand-wringing have caused me to lose a lot of respect for Americans in general. This is what has generated a lot of my anger lately (in addition to the fact that we have been viciously attacked by muslim terrorists).

Hopefully, my faith in Americans will soon be restored with bloody vengeance. Otherwise, we should get used to being looked down upon by the rest of the world as being punks and bitches. Time will tell.

Before another round of angry responses begins, note that none of the above is an attack against any member of this board, but rather my honest feelings regarding the situation we are curretnly embroiled in.

Beachman,

I'm not going to touch this politics of retaliation debate.

I've got some very definite ideas, being a combat veteran myself, that would be a waste of time to dicuss here and now.

However It would be nice to apologize, withdraw your comments to Kendricks about his relationship with his family or at least respond to the post.

Politics is politics, its all bullshit. When you talk about a man and his family that's really a low blow. In the old days were I was raised you would be considered to be swimming in dangerous waters.

But that was then and this was now. Don't get excited I'm just relating historical facts about how it used to be.
No half assed threats just the facts on the way it was where I was raised in Newark.

Be a man and say your sorry. I'm sure Kendricks will accept your apology.

Kendricks-

George W Bush would not have been my first choice for President...Dick Cheney would have been. But I do think GW does make many of his own decisions.... one of them against the advice of of the pollsters being he picked Cheney as his VP with 3 electoral votes.

You indicate that this attack wouldn't have happen if his father or Reagan were president....what about Clinton?

I think our patience and preparation saved many, many lives in the Gulf War and believe unfortanatly this type of enemy calls for different measures which requires patience.

Just think of how much sleep these assholes are losing and how they are looking over their shoulders every minute. Remember the fear you felt when you did something bad when you were a kid and knew your Dad was going to kick your ass. I know that is a piss poor analogy but they know their asses are going to be kicked sooner or later and they live with that fear 24/7!

As for taking statements directed at Bush personally....I and I think others do somewhat. And this is why.......because the office he holds.... he is the most visable, singular person .....who represents the strength and resolve of the United States of America......and we need to show the world we are united behind him!

If you think "crying, praying and handwringing" make us the United States of America a weak people...you are sadly mistaken! It is what has allowed us as Americans to rally around and regroup and use our intelligence and patience and great resources to prevail over past and present enemies.

And what ever you think of Bush personally....most will agree he has surrounded himself with a team second to none. Could you imagine the "political correct" stooges of the previous administration trying to decifer and act on this act.

By POWERSLAVE on Tuesday, September 18, 2001 - 10:49 am:  Edit

Beachman: I think if Clinton was president, They would be taking opinion polls about who to retaliate against. Ont thing that is certain is that he would be in NY to "feel the pain" of the victims, for whatever good that will do anybody, and Hillary the lesbian would justify leveling whatever shithole country the polls dictated as being "for the children".

I will not mention names but you ask me to give an apology to a man who owes his family a much greater apology to his family than I do to him ....yet you do not ask him to apologize to his family. If this was your brother-in-law doing this and risking your sister's life would you apologize after you kicked his ass. If you had a stepfather and he was risking your mother's life ...would you apologize after kicking his ass.

You say you were raised in Newark....Well, I was raised in the Midwest and we considered our family to be everyone in our community. And if someone was risking the life of someone in our community we did stand up as a real man and have the balls to say what was wrong.

You try to justify your behaviour saying it men have been cheating on their wives for thousands of years and then say.... Is it Right or Wrong? Guess what thats just the fucking way it is.

You also say you roll the dice with your life and health and God forbid the health of your wife. Why should anyone ever trust you with anything....you gamble with the life and health of your wife .....the mother of your children. Yet.....you tell me that when you talk about a man and his family it is a low blow and I should apologize. Innocent, give me a break.

You also say I have an advantage over you and others by not being married and only having to worry about myself.....that my life is more simple. You had the opportunity to have that choice but for some reason you choose to be married. You have the still have the choice to leave that marriage and would only have to disgard for yourself when it came to STD's if you had the courage to be honest with your family.

You have acknowledge that you struggle with this and yourself call it a disease. You have different choices on how to deal with your dilema and I am sure you know what those options are. You and your family are the ones who ultimantly have to live with the consquences with as you say the gamble you take when you roll the dice.

I do not wish you or any other mongers in the same boat as you any harm. I just won't sit back and pat you on back and encourage you if you brag and thump your cheat how you are fucking your wife and family over.

Beachman,

I will absolutely rally behind Bush once he starts to attack, whatever I may think about him personally. *That* is the message the world needs to hear.

Clinton wasn't very intimidating either, and I doubt the presence of Gore in the white house would have done much to dissuade this type of attack. I am not a fan of either the democrats or the republicans - the man I would REALLY like to see handle this mess is Jesse Ventura.

And yes, Bush does have a good team of advisors, and is hopefully seeking counsel from his father as well.

What I personally think is necessary at this point is the type of violence that makes crazy people shit their pants. Nothing else will be a deterrent to future strikes, and i am sure our enemies are really enjoying all of the crying faces that are currently being displayed.

We will just have to wiat see how it all plays out....

I feel compassion for you because you are ignorant of the laws of nature but at the same time still accountable for all those innocent lives.

The laws of nature do not excuse you from doing the right and honorable thing. If that were true than rape would be legal. There is no greater oath of trust than the one you take in front of your God, your family and your friends when you got married. In that oath you promised to be true and honest to your wife. Like you said....You roll the dice and gamble with the health of your wife .....she trust you with her life and your children trust that you will protect them and their mother from harm....yet you knowingly continue to expose your wife to potential diseases without her knowledge.

Justify it however you may....but what ever happen to that "being a man" (your words) and being responsible for your actions. If you looking here on this board for salvation thinking there may be justification in numbers.....you are sadly mistaken.

No one has claim to be totally innocent here. But there have been claims about being honorable and trustworthy and don't those character traits among others begin at home.

I just checked my email, though, and have received several emails telling me, essentially, not to take Beachman and Contraband's insults seriously, since they been engaged in a nonstop flaming campaign ever since the Redsnake days.

To those who have been here longer than I: how long has this kind of stuff been going on, anyway? What is the point in it? Can't we all just get along? If there is one place I would think I could escape moralizing and preaching, I would expect it to be a mongering forum...

Beachman,

You truely are an ignorant self rightious thick headed bastard . I never tried to justify my actions or ask for salvation. What fucking planet are you from.

Now you're getting me pissed and that's not good.

I don't claim to be honorable or trustworthy in my marital relationship you fucking retard. That's my fucking problem not for you to judge.

"If we followed the laws of nature rape would be legal". Are you fucking nuts? You are remedial at best and I believe harmless.

I will end my participation here by extending a hardy "fuck you where you breathe" and I hope never meet you. For your sake.

Some time people can bring out the worst in you. You have indeed succeeded.

You are a cold hearted ignorant little prick that needs his clock cleaned.

Man proposes and God disposes you worthless piece of shit. You want to give me religion name the time and place, let me know what you be wearing.

You'll get a make over that will change the rest of your life. FUCK YOU IN SPADES YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!!! TALK IS CHEAP. LET'S DO IT.

Innocent-

Your conseince ( I probaly spell it as well as you let yours guide you) must be coming alive as you must honestly be pondering some of the points I have made.

Instead of focussing your anger towards me .....maybe you should be looking in the mirror. You say sometimes people bring out the worst in you and that I have succeeded.....I look at it that YOU have posted the worst in you here (I would bet you family and friends would agree).

You know you it is the truth and you have no legitimate arguement to respond with.....so you respond with juvenille bullshit. And it is you that will probaly have their clock xcleaned if you wife has brothers or cousins or her father if they ever find out how you are exposing their loved one to these diseases.

Reread your own postings and you will understand how desperate you are to somehow accept your behavior as a minor breach of your marriage vows instead of a major one. I wish good luck in dealing with this dilema since it seems to be weighing heavy on your mind!

Beachman,

Yes it is heavy on my mind but you really don't get it do you? I give up.

Crap, I go to the zona for 3 days and nights (can't decide if it felt like 22 minutes but now looks like a year or vice-versa; just know it's all run together in my mind) Anyways back to the topic at hand...whatever the hell that is.

Oh yeah. And what do I find upon my return? After you guys kissed and made up, it looks like you never made it to the wedding nor the reception and even bypassed the honeymoon (wadafuxzupwidat???).

Where can I buy a program? I can't even tell who's on what side anymore. It's like 27 different softball teams showed up at the little ballfield trying to play at the same time. Each one comprised of 1, 2, or 3 players that seemingly can't even tolerate their teammates.

That's why it's called AMERICA...all together now...LAND OF THE FREE...and the HOME OF THE BRAVE.

TJH...thanks for the kudos regarding my last thoughts in this thread before I headed south.

Milkman, that's the best post I've ever seen you make. I want my first bout to be against you as a warm up, then in order I want Lakers, Aardvark, Contraband, StrikeEagle, and Powerslave.

What a great idea. I should get more than just a chica after I win the championship though.

Forget boxing, make it monger ultimate fighting.

I don't see why you include Milkman, Aardvark, and Strikeagle in there, though, I think they've always been cool.

Superman, you amaze me how tough you are in front of a computer screen. The way you prop yourself makes me envy you on how tough you are. Hopefully some day I can meet you and touch that big S on your chest.

Kind of like in UFC, the first loser gets a little money, the last winner gets a lot. First bout losers get the free streetgirl from crack alley of their choice for condomless sex. The last survivor gets to marry Tania, and have Candi move in also for a three way relationship.

By d'Artagnan on Thursday, September 20, 2001 - 08:32 am:  Edit

You're not going to get many of the younger guys w/ a top prize of Tania/Candi. You'll have to offer something like GFE sessions with Mahogany and Melanie before you start seeing major crowds fighting to get in the ring.

d'Artagnan, it's just for fun. I don't really want to hurt them...

Bigmark, how many ID's do you have? Try sticking to one, and be careful what you wish for.

I've met a few mongers, but I have never given out my ID for real life privacy issues. If you want to meet sometime that would be alright. You seem like an OK guy.

For the record I am 5'2" 144 lbs, wear spectacles, have a bit of a gut, and I'm bald in the classic horseshoe pattern...

There's no real beef milkman... Contraband just because he's a dick; Aard just for fun; you because you'd quit before the bell; and Powerslave & SE because they might be a challenge, considering they are the resident message board Rambo's.

Superman, fill me in with the I.D stuff. I have no clue what your talking about.

By Milkman on Thursday, September 20, 2001 - 12:27 pm:  Edit

hi

from the sound of your posts
i thought you were 6'5" ,240 ,benching 800 pounds and was a contestant on the tough guy competition on espn.

i know theres no real beef ,
i know when it comes down to it ,
you would rather drink with these fellow mongers and kick it and share a few laughs rather than breaking their faces.

yes i am an ok guy

a few from this board have met me.
at 3 from the other board.

i have always tried to come up with truces when fellow mongers are going at each other throats.

a while back when i used to eat at the taco stand outside adelitas i would overhear fellow mongers talking about redsnake and other boards and some times people would shoot the shit with me and always ask " oh by the way have you heard of these sites ? "

i would always say' i heard a little about them.

now i do not mind if people know who i am to a certian point.

a few guys have asked me " are you milkman ?" when i am at pulgas , it is kinda funny.

maybe we will meet up sometime

you know where to find me

take care

Please let me be first because I don't want to hear ANY snivling excuses when you realize how "not fun" it would be to face me across the canvas. Remember, no fair bringing a laptop and trying to "hack" me with it.

Milk, I was joking with the physical description. I talk to people in the zone all the time, only I use my real name. I've had many people ask me if I'm on Redsnake and the like. I tell them no, because there is no reason to have my worlds collide.

Despite the perception, the truth of the matter is I'm all about having a good time. I never look for fights and only fight in defense.

Aard, I couldn't fight you. They would arrest me for picking on an old man.

CHIP & HUMMER...happy fricking Bdays!!! I wish you guys could spend some "quality time" w/ Smith, Mahogany, Elizabeth, Alejandra, and Melanie on your bdays instead w/ 2200 other guys...but I know somebody gotta do it for us. Hey, go smoke them and we'll keep Adelitas warm when you guys come back.

What's with this sudden love fest? 8-D

I suggest that everyone run their thoughts through "The Burn Maker" from now on, to ensure that tempers continue to flare:

http://toy.thespark.com/burn/

For example, milkman's recent good-natured posat, run through the burn maker, would come out as follows:

"dear fucking super

thats fuckin' what i thought. i wasnt too motherfucking sure though , i didnt think you and your hemorrhoids had the fucking milks sense of humor. i will be down in hell cheking some piece of shit new aves

lechero"

Come to think of it, maybe some of you guys have already been using the burn maker? ;^)

Actually, Superman's good natured post of Thursday, September 20, 2001, 11:37 pm, to Milkman is even funnier, with the help of the burn maker.
