The image tag must be entered correctly on the first run before you finalize the post. When done correctly, you'll be able to tell by the preview. Once the message has been posted, you cannot edit it to add the correct image syntax.

You type \image{description}

In preview, you see:

Thanks Admin. I guess I never had the format right on my original posts and of course it wouldn't work when I tried to edit later.

It looks like you got close on the last try. When you go to the preview screen where you see the "your image here" you then click "Post this Message." On the next screen you are prompted to browse your hard drive to upload a specific file. If you just click "Post this Message" again you get the default "Your Image Here" image.

There is no space between the \ and image

The text in the {description} can be whatever you want.

Truly remarkable. CFK now gets his kicks by posting inane worthless shit and then seeing whether he can delete it. Well, that and standing on line (with his walker) at Luby's to see whether he can beat the rush of seniors to the liver and onions early bird special.

I feel vindicated. There REALLY is a need for a CFK-free Zone, god help us.
