NCAA Championship Game : Uconn is going to roll,
Uconn -5.5 11 units to win 10 units
Uconn has dominated throughout the tourney, stats wise they are the 4th best team to make the finals since 1980. Which means that Okafor should make a damn good pro.
Uconn by 15

Tech by 3.

By Maximus743 on Sunday, April 04, 2004 - 04:26 pm:  Edit

UConn Domination is good but covering the spread is what matters.

They/I got crushed on first half -1 and then they also did not cover the game -2.

That is all that matters to me.

By Aldaron on Sunday, April 04, 2004 - 08:13 pm:  Edit

I'm still surprised that I got 3 of the Final Four in my office picks without watching a single college basketball game all year. Somebody asked me why I put Tech in the Final Four the other day. All I knew was that Tech beat UConn early in the season and beat Duke at home just before the tournament. Based on that and how they are playing right now, I say Tech by 5

By Aldaron on Monday, April 05, 2004 - 08:01 pm:  Edit

UConn by 20

By Fooledagain1 on Tuesday, April 06, 2004 - 07:47 am:  Edit

Uconn rolls to title, the game pretty much went to form, the 4th best team to make the finals since 1980 and they showed it.GT drained alot of 3`s late to make the final score closer than the game really was, for a second or two i thought they might pull a miracle backdoor cover, but in the end Uconn was to damn good.

Uconn - 5.5-- 11 units to win 10 : WIN 10 unit
Year to date: nfl playoffs- won 25.4 units, ncaa tour., won 10 units- total won 35.4 units and counting.... next up nba playoffs

By Bullitt on Wednesday, April 07, 2004 - 01:54 am:  Edit

Yup, I bet the over at that was a real suprise to find out the final score. The last sight I had at the game was 3 minutes left and the total at 128. I would never had thought they could make it to over 146. They were playing at a pace of 140. I got lucky.

NCAA Championship Game :

Carolina (ml -135) over Illinois --- 8.1 units to win 6 units

Carolina -1 (-115 1st half) over Illinois --- 2.2 units to win 2 units

Should be a very good game as both teams come in playing on a high level, Carolina is the 7th best team stats wise to make the final of the past 50 teams to be in the final.

Carolina by 5 over Illinois

By Fooledagain1 on Sunday, April 17, 2005 - 09:25 am:  Edit

YES SIR !!!! The game pretty much went according to form, i had Carolina to win by 5 and they did. As usual most of the so-called experts picked Illinois to win, the USA Today newspaper had something like 9 writers pick Ill to win and only 3 pick Carolina. The experts once again used all the wrong criteria to judge the game.

Carolina (-135 ml) over Ill --- WON 6 UNITS

Carolina -1 (1st half) over Ill --- WON 2 UNITS

2005 NCAA Final Four --- WON 8 UNITS --- 2 Year Total --- WON 18 UNITS

2005 PlayoFfs to date --- WON 13.6 UNITS

Normally when a team gets to the final playing on a high level like Carolina did thier best player or players wilL turn out to be very solid to great players in the NBA, and barring injury will be in the league for years to come.

A good example of this is UConn last season, they were the 4th best team to make the final since 1980, now thier 2 best players, Okafor and Ben Gordon are 1-2 in rookie of the year and Gordon most likely will win 6th man of the year in NBA. Gordon also leads the league in most times scoring 10 + pts in the 4th quarter.

If i were a NBA general manger i`d be grabbing Sean May as soon as possible, he`ll most likely turn out to be a hell of a player, there should be 1 or 2 more players off this team that do well in the NBA, probally Mcants and Marvin Williams.

BTW, the most dominating team to win the touranment since 1979 the year they started seeding teams and expanded to 40 teams was, Isaih Thomas`s 1981 Indianna team, Isiah went on to become one of the alltime NBA greats.
The 2cd best team, Magic`s 1979 Michigan St. team, Magic went on to become one of the best players ever.

Next up --- NBA Playoffs coming soon

By Bullitt on Monday, March 27, 2006 - 12:26 am:  Edit

Anyone still have any teams left in the final 4 in their ncaa pools? If you do you probably took the Bruins. Go UCLA!

By Porker on Monday, March 27, 2006 - 09:31 pm:  Edit

George Mason in the final 4? Wow! Big blow in the power conference dominance era since Magic-Bird in '79.

By sampson on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 - 08:49 pm:  Edit

I'm holding a ticke with Pitt at 60-1 to win the whole thing. I will probably bet $500 on GM just to make sure I get some dough. If Pitt advances I will bet against them in the final for maybe $1000 or $1500. Looks like Pitt will be favored in either match up if they can get by GM.

By Due_diligence on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 - 10:02 pm:  Edit

Pitt? What are you talking about?

By Khun_mor on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 - 10:07 pm:  Edit

sampson
Your ticket for Pitt became worthless 10 days ago when Bradley beat them .

You must be quite a Pitt fan to be so delusional as to think they're alive in the final four.

I want some of da kine you're smokin !

By Catocony on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 - 10:13 pm:  Edit

I hope Sampson meant Florida, not Pitt.

By Ejack1 on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 - 11:25 pm:  Edit

It's okay Sampson....

All over Washington people are watching the Dawgs playing the Zags in the final....

Then one by one they each wake back up to the nightmare.

By Milkman on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 06:01 am:  Edit

Sampson means Florida. Says he will be me a nice happy meal if he wins :-)

By Due_diligence on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 07:48 pm:  Edit

Sampson, what made you bet Florida to win it all? That team would have never crossed my mind to win it all. Good luck and please hedge to guarantee a nice profit. I think Florida will handle GM and would hedge(maybe $250) lightly in that game. In the final game, I would hedge the full $1500 you mentioned

2006 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

UCLA +2 (-120) over Florida --- 3.6 units to win 3 units

UCLA +.5 (1st half) over Florida 1.1 units to win 1 unit

UCLA by 3 over Florida

Damn, you got out of debtor's prison already? :-)

Good luck with your bets tonight.

By Merlin on Monday, April 03, 2006 - 06:51 pm:  Edit

GO BRUINS! It's gonna be either two monger trips or no monger trips for me.

By Khun_mor on Monday, April 03, 2006 - 09:35 pm:  Edit

Too bad ! Did not see this post until after the game. I see FA is using his usual handicapping style. Wait for the experts to weigh in then take the points and bet the dog.

Considering the main concept of this site may I offer a bit of advice?

If you're down to your LAST unit(your original unit) DO NOT bet it !! Randy Johnson is the Big Unit - you'll be the Vig Unit .

Merlin --- Don't tell me you bet your mongering future on the Bruins ? WTF were you thinking ? We should have had dinner last week. I know it's post fact but I never thought they had a chance to win this game. Florida way too big AND athletic. UCLA was a sham -- never should have gotten past Gonzaga then got lucky running into a couple of poorly performing teams.

By Merlin on Tuesday, April 04, 2006 - 01:59 pm:  Edit

KM, ACCKKK, they got clobbered. You're right, the dodged a bullet w/Gonzaga and I should've read it better. Oh well, so much for my intro into sports betting blinded by school allegience. I'll have plenty of time Stateside for dinner though.

By Khun_mor on Tuesday, April 04, 2006 - 08:15 pm:  Edit

Merlin

Never bet with your heart.

Other than FA's system it's the surest way to lose your shirt.

By sampson on Wednesday, April 05, 2006 - 11:37 pm:  Edit

I responded to this earlier in the day, but I guess it didn't post:

I bet both Fla and Pitt. Fla at 60-1 and Pitt at 75-1

The odds on both were less than 20-1 in Las Vegas, and I figured them to both be top 4 seeds in their regionals if they had a decent finish to the season.

Getting to the round of 16 would allow me to make hedge bets and win regardless of whether they cased in or not.

Caliente is not a sharp sports book. Over the years, they have shown they don't know what they are doing.

I had no idea that FLA would win, but did realize that their chances were much stronger than 60-1 after going 18-0.

By Maximus743 on Thursday, April 06, 2006 - 06:39 pm:  Edit

Congrats on your win although I am a Bruins fan and was upset they played like crap.

So with your huge win does that mean you are buying chicas for all your tJ buddies?

By sampson on Friday, April 07, 2006 - 02:18 pm:  Edit

actually I bought two new computers for the office girls and will be taking out a year's advertising on eros.com

By sampson on Friday, March 23, 2007 - 12:47 pm:  Edit

there is nothing here on this year's tourney???

I like Butler plus 10- tonight....it may go higher but that is the best number I see right now.

By Due_diligence on Saturday, March 24, 2007 - 08:45 am:  Edit

I like UCLA+2 today. Should be a good game that comes down to the wire. I also think Ohio State goes down today but will not bet it. Congrads on your release Sampson.

By sampson on Saturday, March 24, 2007 - 10:49 am:  Edit

I am going with Memphis today. At this point I have not determined whether to bet them at +2- or bet them to win outright at +125.

By Due_diligence on Saturday, March 24, 2007 - 11:25 am:  Edit

I like Memphis as well and will take my chances on the ML.

By sampson on Monday, March 26, 2007 - 03:29 pm:  Edit

I made the money line bet...didn't get to see the game, but it looked like they were competitive for at least 20 minutes....final score looked ugly though.

By Due_diligence on Friday, March 30, 2007 - 06:42 pm:  Edit

These last two games are hard to cap but my money is on UCLA ML+150.

By Fooledagain1 on Saturday, March 31, 2007 - 06:53 am:  Edit

UCLA has played the best so far in the tournament, Floridas defense isnt as good as last season.
I wont take any action now but, Id favor UCLA OR Georgetown to win the title.

By Frontbc on Sunday, April 01, 2007 - 10:32 am:  Edit

FA1,

It's a good thing you didn't take action. Gtown lost the magic they had the week before.

And UCLA left their "A" game in the locker room. Their season didn't seem to add up to this game. I was hoping Howland would be able to coach his team through it, but I didn't see him make any significant adjustments in offense or defense. Yes, his players need to play but someone has to lead.

They will have a good year again next year.

With the way FLA played they should beat OSU, but I am hoping for a competative final. For OSU to win they will need exceptional play from their guards. jmho

By Fooledagain1 on Monday, April 02, 2007 - 06:09 am:  Edit

I have Florida by 4 over OS. The spread opened at -4 and has been bet up to -5 in Vegas.

I will probally pass on the game, would look for a very close game with OS having a good chance to win.

Watch and see how the experts call the game, if everyone comes in on Florida, which thus far everyone Ive seen has, Id go the other way.

By sampson on Monday, April 02, 2007 - 09:33 am:  Edit

The game has now hit 5 almost everywhere from the opening number of 3. 60% of the action is on Fla in this game at this time. I did still find one 4- out there.

By Don Marco on Monday, April 02, 2007 - 02:34 pm:  Edit

Sorry to ruin your day FA-- tis ain't football and my money is on OSU. It's money in the bank.

By Don Marco on Tuesday, April 03, 2007 - 06:51 am:  Edit

spread was 4.5 for moi, and I'll be going to work today rather than consider retirement.
