Ah-nold for Governor...

Sounds like a shoo-in to me if he runs for California Governor. I think he'll run. Kinda after Reagan's footstep... Ahnold for U.S. President someday???

Heck, I'll take Cheech and Chong over Grey Davis.

But as far as celebrities are concerned, there are a coupla of other guys I'd pick over Ah-nold.

I don't think Arnold will ever be qualified to be President since I don't think he is considered a natrual born citizen. They would have to change the law so he could be President.

Well I guess Orrin Hatch is trying to do just that.

I don't think he is qualified to be U.S. President, period. Just pointing out that Reagan was an actor turned Calif Gov. and Ahnold might have the same aspirations.

Arnold was asked if he had ever smoked marijuana. He said "Sure, I've inhaled, exhaled, everything."
He was shown smoking a joint in the video 'Pumping Iron' after winning Mr Olympia .

The Republicans really fucked up.

Removing Gray Davis from office is a mercy killing. I think Davis should be left in office to suffer from his and the rest of the liberal Democrats who have controlled this state for the past ten years.

The increase in spending by the state of CA for liberal causes and education (CA rated one of the worst states for quality education) is absolutely shameful. CA is a testimony to higher teachers pay and no accountability is a guarantee to poor performance.

I say vote for Gray Davis in the recall election and let the Democrats enjoy/suffer another two years of control. The state is bankrupt and the next two years.

I smile/laugh when I see the liberals on this board post about what the Republican conservative right wing religious whacko have done in CA. Hell the Republican's can't do anything in CA. The Demo’s have two Fed Senators, control both state legislative houses, and control the executive offices.

The Democratic symbol of a jackass is very apropos. The only thing better would be “ pigs at the trough”.

By Dogster on Thursday, July 24, 2003 - 01:49 pm:  Edit

Arnold has more skeletons in his attic than Richard Simmons. Apparently bodybuilder types often do.

By Ben on Thursday, July 24, 2003 - 02:40 pm:  Edit

The Republicans have a Hollywood actor and an ex-car thief for possible candidates. It seems they are both over qualified to be politicians.

Bill Clinton should be Governor of CA.

They are underqualified for republican candidates.

By Tight_fit on Thursday, July 24, 2003 - 11:45 pm:  Edit

I'm going to agree with Father Time on this one. Davis should be left to serve his term. If people were stupid enough to vote for him less than a year ago they have no right to start bitching now. This isn't Burger King where you get to take your crap back to the window and start all over even if it was your fault you misordered.

Let the State go belly up. There isn't one single elected official who is Republican. Even the biggest retards in this state can't believe that all the problems we have were created by the elephant party. Well, maybe not anyway.

The real kicker in this recall is who will lead the Republican side. Simon is a super rich elite who hasn't stood in a grocery line for years and is willing to be butt fucked by the Christian Right. Issa sounds like another product of Orange County and will probably turn out to have far more than stolen cars in his background.

Let Davis and his croonies hang themselves for two more years. Or else get someone in who is willing to go the limit and actually do whatever it takes, legally or not, to destroy the vested interests that are sucking the state dry.

By Ben on Friday, July 25, 2003 - 09:25 am:  Edit

I say,

"A vote for Gray Davis is a vote for freedom".

"Don't let those fuckin Republicans take away our right to vote".

"He maybe a incompetent idiot but he is our incompetent idiot"

"Three times is a charm."

Looking for a Gray Davis campaign slogan.

Any suggestions?

Like I said before: Davis and Clinton infiltrated the democratic party, they're more like republicans in democrats clothing.

By Laguy on Saturday, July 26, 2003 - 06:59 am:  Edit

One of the reasons given to justify removing Gray Davis from office is that he mislead the electorate about the state's budget troubles when he ran for office last time. If he is removed on this basis, perhaps the next politician who should be considered for removal is someone who made it a central campaign promise that he would not engage in "nation building" but since being appointed to office by the Supreme Court has done nothing but.

By Nyl12 on Saturday, July 26, 2003 - 09:03 am:  Edit

The only reason Davis is in office is because the Republicans backed fucking Simon and not Riardon. (Former LA Mayor). The Republicans thought Riardon was to much of a Democrat on some issues (abortion) and not conservative enough. Now they are looking to him as they guy to step in and replace Davis. Riardon is /was a business man and did a pretty good job as Mayor (IMHO) Can he fix the state I do not know, but Davis has/is fucking things up too much.

Right now I would support replacing Davis with Riardon, but no one else, let alone Arnold.

By Dick Johnson on Saturday, July 26, 2003 - 02:50 pm:  Edit

Clinton for CA Gov., that would be a nice.

Riordan has said that if Ahnold runs he won't run. Ahnold is thrashing all the other candidates in polls. 57% favourable rating. Everyone else is in the mid 30s% or below. Things can change later of course. And he does have some skeletons in his closet, and not just endo-skeletons. But I think his chances are very good. Esp. now people are tired of politicians.

By Dick Johnson on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 - 10:13 am:  Edit

Clinton and Gore supporting Davis, now that's a big shot in the arm for Davis. I like Clinton and Gore and I think Gore should run in 2004. I understand they support Davis partly because CA is a key state with tons of electoral votes for the Presidential election and they want a democrat CA Gov.

However I believe the people's voices should be heard. 1.6 million signatures is a lot, and a lot of work to obtain. If the Supreme court steps in-and I don't think they will this time- it will throw the people's voices out the window. Let the vote continue, if they want Davis then keep him. Of course, just remember to vote for a democrat president if you are a leftie. Keep that seperate from the Governor.

What was all that lengthy Bush talk about sex tourism at the UN today? Where did that come from? His speech writers must have talked to Dick Johnson and started reading Clubhombre.com and other web sites too much and can't get it of his head, planning his next mongering trip.

Btw, where's that hundreds of thousands of teens some as young as 5 being trafficked? I sure haven't seen them. The whole thing was just so irrelevant, one minute it was Iraq then suddenly it was sex tourism.

Mcclintock has no chance of winning. Just making it easier for Bustarhymes. Mac better step out quick or Issa is going to flame him. Mac will be hated if he goes in the election and make the Republicans lose the state.

Bustarhymes is taking money from the trial lawyers, the Indian Casino owners and anyone who would give him some dough. He is the typical broke ass corrupt politician, he even looks like one! You guys want a corrupt guy to f^*& up the state even more than vote for him.

You've got a lot of the Mexicans voting for him, the Democrats, the anti recall folks, the Davis supporters, the trial lawyers, the Indian gamers etc.

The joke is that what if Busta gets elected and appoints Grey Davis as Liutenant Gov. and Busta resigns so Davis becomes Gov and appoints Busta as Lt. Gov.

Busta illegally took campaign contributions and when asked to return it, he said he spent it.

I say Vote yes on recall and vote for Ahnold.

Mcclintock is the perfect example of why Republicans continously lose this state in elections for every office. The hard core fanatics of the extreme right would rather go to heaven now, and be RIGHT, then do something serious about cleaning up the messes that they are always bitching about. Typical mentality of religious nuts and why religion of any kind should be kept out of school and as much of government as possible. There is nothing scarier than those who believe that they are saved and refuse to compromise on anything.

Of course, people like Bustamonte who are rottenly corrupt to the core, as probably just as bad. :-)

By Ben on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 - 07:24 am:  Edit

I don't believe that religion is the issue.

By Tight_fit on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 - 10:49 pm:  Edit

The debate has come and gone and now the experts will tell us tomorrow what to think. Tonight it's the peanut gallery who gets to speak.

I'll eat my words of a few posts back and say that McClintock looked and sounded the best of the group by far. Too bad he can't win. And Cruz did a good job too although I know the guy's sleeze. He actually looked and sounded perfectly repsectable for a guy who wants to kill all the white and black folks once La Raza takes control. The wacho on the far left, Peter Whatever came across as respectful and articulate and would probably give me a chocolate chip cookie before he stole everything I had in the name of fairness. Huffenton (darn these weird names anyway) was actually understandable for a change except that how can you take a super rich person seriously when she talks about fair taxation and fixing the workmans comp problems? At least she didn't let anyone give her shit and would probably be the choice of the feminist crowd except for her money and funny accent. And Arnold, on the radio where I first heard the debate, came across as trying to interupt everyone and dominate the debate. Later, on the TV rerun, he looked great and was obviously ready for anything and willing to discuss it. I hope he wins although I wouldn't believe a word he says about how he is going to lower taxes and solve all the State's problems. No one is going to lower taxes ever and it's only a shell game when they pretend to.

By Dick Johnson on Thursday, September 25, 2003 - 02:11 pm:  Edit

Maximus is voting for Cruz Bustamente! That's right you heard me. Maximus's choice cross-eyed McClintock actually did sound the best to me and many others BUT McClintock has NO CHANCE OF WINNING! If you vote for McC you are voting against Ahnold and throwing away your vote to benefit Cruz "Corrupt" Bustamente. Bustamente is the type of guy who will sound very smoth even if he's stealing an old lady's wallet.

SO YOU HAVE TO DECIDE:

a) VOTE AHNOLD
OR
b) BUSTAMENTE.

Anything else you are just throwing your vote away.

Lol. How about McC to get on Arnie's team Maximus?

Now if McC really doesn't get out of the way then he is a moron. He'll be hated by his party and a lot of people for potentially ruining the recall and let Cruz steal the election. He now have a chance to step aside and he should do it.

McC would get on Arnold's team if Arnold was a true Republican but Arnold is not.

Also if you knew you were the best Candidate would you give in to an inferior Candidate?

I would not since I would be letting down the millions who are counting on me not to sell out.

McC will never be hated by his party because he is a true Republican which Arnold is not.
(Arnold also has top level Democrats as advisers and as in-laws.)

Did you see Seabiscut?

I will consult with my WAshington DC Republican contacts to discuss my next move concerning this setback. Personally I don't see much distiction between Davis and Arnold. Us West Siders in LA know Arnold is full of shit when he says he does not deal with special interest groups. How do you think he swiped half of Santa Monica real estate on the cheap, got his restaurant going etc.

All who you know and whose palm you grease.
The only thing Arnold might be good for is the kids.

Personally I can't stand CRUZ but I am an honest loyal guy who can't come to grips of selling out my guy McClintock (The only candidate capable of turning CA around)

Ahnold is being bashed on L.A. times today. It seems that today's papers SOLE PURPOSE is to fuck Ahnold, support Davis, support McClintock etc. L.A. Times is no N Y Times the same way Quayle's no JFK. Reporting is hardly unbiased here. Ahnold rubbed a lot of people the wrong way with some of the things he'd say he'd do.

Ahnold groped some women in the past. That is seriously going to cost him votes more than anything else. The women voters, the Christians and Catholics and Buddhists, the uptight hypocrates.

Here's his defense : WHEN I WAS MR.UNIVERSE AND A BIG MOVIE STAR I GOT GROPED BY A LOT OF WOMEN TOO. WHY THE DOUBLE STANDARD?

Being the community service type guy that I am I was working the cookie booth at the Church fair last week. Who comes up but Maria and her kid? she looked horrid with no makeup, so I see why Arnold gropes the ladies. I'm sure he married her for the money and family influence.
I had a 15 minute conversation with her and expressed my views on how my family who were for the poor, were die hard democrats and Kennedy supporters but now as an Adult I vote Republican since I cannot support murder(abortion)or same sex marriages. You should have seen the look on her face. She so wanted to stay and continue to debate me but I guess she had to get home and make sure Arnold wasn't banging some hottie. :-)

BTW DJ

It is hypocrItes. Everyone is one is some way.
No one is perfect. I for one am not.
Also the extremely liberal media much less the LA times would never support a strong religious person (Mcclintock).

If they do it is just to try to split the Republican vote as you say to get their guy Davis back in office.

I personally think this groping women thing is so old and it is the fricking ugly feminists that are giving Arnold the hard time. I think it is bullshit politics by Cruz and his scum bag followers.

Remember one name. Bill Clinton. Non of the women seemed to be outraged by his antics so why the double standard.

I want this election to be a fair fight (I know it is impossible)but the last thing I want to see is Cruz winning because some ugly feminist dug up old dirt on the stud Arnold.

Maximus,

Good to hear you suppoting your man McC. I've seen Maria in Santa Monica and it was a few years ago at that time she didn't look horrid and she was with her kids. Did you really debate her? You might be mistaken about Ahnold marrying her for $$ because Ahnold was already a millionaire at 21 before he got in the movies. It was after Conan, Terminator, Raw Deal, Red Square, Predator etc that he married Shriver. By than he was a multi deca-millionair with real estate investments and many endorsements. They have dated for many years. She was a sexy TV news lady from an influetial family, a lot of people would marry her if they had the chance.

Your guy McC is at 16% if 10% or Ahnolds vote goes to him Cruz, Ahnold, McC will all tie at 26%. Of course these polls are hardly accurate but it shows that now even if Ahnold voters go to McC Cruz still may not win. But for millions of Ahnold voters to change to McC is almost impossible.

Right from the beginning before he even started running I said Ahnold will win. I never said anything about him being the best man on the planet for the job. But I'll take that ticket over Davis.

orgn,
During war torn times things were different. Hitler was one of the world's biggest heroes at THAT time. And Austria was invaded by Germany. Ahnold has donated many Million$$ to Jewish causes. How much have you guys donated or helped? $10K? $1K? $100?

Who cares if he's smoked weed? Not me. He took a puff after winning Mr Olympia as shown in the documentary but it's not like he's a stoner everyday.

(Incidenatlly isn't Canada moving towards decriminalisation of pot?)

As to recreational drugs other than pot orgngrndr, could you substantiate that claim?

By Dick Johnson on Tuesday, October 07, 2003 - 08:39 pm:  Edit

Dick just came back from voting and my feelings are that Ahnold will win, if not by a big margin. Like I predicted 2 and a half months ago before he even anounced running.

To be quite frank he does lack experience. But hey.. let's see what happens.

He has to have some good people around him. His gang looks like the geritol gang, bunch of senior citizens. He oughta get some guys and gals in their 40s or 30s. Also he must not be stubborn and must listen.

And he must never ever ever receive bribes for political favours. It WILL be blown out to the open by whistle blowers and his whole 'legacy' will be destroyed. Doesn't matter if he was the world most influential bodybuilder or the world's biggest movie star. He'll always be remembered as a corrupt politician and his kids will be stoned at school.
