This is a movie that was profiled on National Public Radio's show, "Fresh Air," which is on at 1pm M-F in San Diego, on KPBS, 89.5 FM.

The movie tells the story, unfortunatly true, of young women. Some of them were hookers (Magdalenes), some, not even "loose." They were made de facto slaves, by the Catholic Church, working in laundries. Once the laundries started losing $$$, the church soon lost interest in "rescuing" them. The last "fresh meat" was taken in, around 1996. This was in England, so, perhaps the movie will have subtitles;)
