Sapp blasts NFL "slave system." In other news, making eight-figure salary is slavery

Sapp is an ass although very talented. I think his mouth is keeping Tampa Bay from giving him an extention. If he were to have a severe knee injury or something he'd really screwed (although he should have millions in the bank). If I were a Green Bay fan I'd really hate the guy.

My favorite Sapp story is that he had a buddy go in and do a partenity test for him and he got caught. Actually, that's kind of smart and there's probably a couple board members who wish they had done that.

While I doubt I'd go as far as Sapp and use the 'Slave Master' analogy, the NFL has been known as the 'No Fun League' for a long time. Manning wasn't allowed to wear black high-tops to honor Unitas, big fines for excessive celebrations, fines for wearing the wrong colored socks, wearing socks too low, wearing socks too high... The NFL specializes in chickenshit rules.

The WORST was when they refused to allow the POW/MIA banner in the Metrodome as it was a 'political issue'. I mean who in the HELL could possibly be against POW's or MIA's??? Tagliabue, I guess...

I think it was better when one we got two or three games on a saturday and two games on a sunday. I always used to look forward to that highlights on saturday afternoon sponsored by some insurance company and the highlights of sunday on a monday night football. For some strange reason, I felt closer to being their than now, after I have seen the same replay 20 times by bedtime on sunday. Back then, I did a whole lot of things. I can recall at recent times watching the 9 am game (or even 8 am) game on saturday and sitting in front of the tube until the end of the hawaii game. Then waking up in the morning and watching all the nfl action till 8pm. I haven't done that in a while but it still attests to the fact that i had better options back then.
