1. I went there a week ago. - Eu fui lá faz uma semana.
2. I went to eat lunch there last week. - Eu fui almoçar lá na semana passada.
3. I went there last Monday. - Eu fui lá na segunda feira passada.
4. Last Monday he was there but he didn’t see me. - Na segunda feira passada ele estava lá mas não me viu.
5. She’s going to leave on vacation. - Ela vai sair de férias.
6. I liked it. - Eu gostei.
7. Do you have an idea for a gift? - Você tem uma idéia para um presente?
8. There are t-shirts there at the store. - Há camisetas lá na loja.
9. It’s not a good idea. - Não é uma boa idéia.
10. It’s Thursday. - É quinta-feira.
11. I liked the store. Let’s go there. - Eu gostei de loja. Vamos lá.

It's been a while since I did this lesson and I had to laugh when I reread "há camisetas...". In a future lesson we learn that "there are/is" is also stated "tem". "Tem um banco" means "there is a bank". It also means "you/he/she has a bank". Now I want to know how you would say "Is there a store where there are t-shirts?"? I assume that it would be "tem uma loja onde há camisetas?". If that's not it then I want I refund on my money for this course. :-) Anyway, as I review this lesson I would sure like to ask the speakers where "there" is "tem" and when it is "há". Just to muddle things more my grammer book has a whole chapter on "ter/to have" and "haver/to have" and their usage with other words. "I have watched..." "I would have gone but......" I love the parts where they say that in Portugal it is spoken one way but in (parts) of Brasil it is spoken another depending on the social and educational level of the speaker. And I just found some web site that talks about the regional pronounciational differences beween Rio and Sao Palo which can't be more than 3 or 4 hundred miles apart.

11. gostei da loja (not gostei de loja). It is a specific shop that he liked.

As for ha versus tem (without a subject, meaning there is or there are), they are close but ha conveys less specificity (something like there exists) than tem does.
