Wow! What a pack of foxes! Thanks for posting this.
It was onerous, but I weeded out the 9+'s from the 10's:
Albania
Bosnia
Brazil - maybe; the only one I could not bring up.
Denmark
Dom. Rep.
Ethiopia
Greece
Giorgia
Jamaica, Maaaan!
Kazakstan
Korea
Macedonia - & her bio
Malaysia
Malta - "7 'O' levels"!
Mexico - & her bio - kickboxing
Nepal (Miss Priti, looking surprisingly Latina)
Norway
Panama
Philippines - & her bio
Thai - this cupid hits my heart!
Uganda
Uruguay
Venezuala
Vietnam
Zambia
Needed: 3 photos of each woman;
one a close-up with alluring eyes,
one a bikini shot;
different clothes and poses in all
3 shots.
I believe it was Miss Wales, who is also into kickboxing, who took Miss World. She has a different last name than her dad, Chris DeBurgh (sp?).
He's perhaps best known for his songs, "Lady in Red," and "Don't Pay the Ferryman." While I liked the first one, it got way too much airplay, and comes off as mawkish.
"Ferryman" was just awful.
His best album that I'm familiar with was also one my my favorites by anyone, "Spanish Train & Other Stories." It used to get a fair amount of airplay on KDKB, Phoenix, in 1976. It was a "Free Form Format" station. The title track was played, an intensly dramatic number; and "Patricia (the Stripper)," a porn/comedy; and "The Artist," reminiscent of Vicent van Gogh.
Just a week ago I wrote down his name, on my list of things to look up on the web, to see what he's been up to.
A fun exercise in geography! Somehow, tho, I don't think Miss Iceland was photogaphed in her country!
Here's the latest version of the Miss World site:

Belguim, Czech Republic, Portugal, and Slovakia (Wasn't that part of Czech once upon a time? If so that's 2 for one place.)

A lot of hotties but the girls that really caught my eye were: Dominican Republic, Argentina , SIngapore and Vietnam. I was also surprised at how gorgeous the contestants from Ethiopia, Trin and Tobago and Jamaica....all in the top ten in my book. I was very disappointed in Miss Thailand and Philippines....as usual the girls are both children of Chinese Nationals who keep it so only the light-skinned girls of Chinese decent keep winning the local crown. Lets get a real Thai or Filipina girl one of these days and not one appointed by the local economic force. Politics always comes into play with beauty contests in both of those countries. If I had to choose a winner it would be between Miss DR, Trin and Tabago or SIngapore.

Miss China really turns me on. So much prettier than that freak in this year's Miss Universe contest.
The funny thing is Miss Singapore is Ceylonese(!), not even of Chinese or Malay ancestry. This is like the reverse of what Blazers is complaining about. In a country where 8 out of 10 are of Chinese descent they chose a Ceylonese.

Lots of whites in S Africa though
I'll be quite frank and un-PC to say I'm glad it's finally a white girl representing USA.

I just loved that Miss Canada was a Chief Warrant Officer in the Air Cadets...to get that far means leadership training, which means this chick knows how to yell, Gunnery Sergeant Hartman style. I was a cadet once...nobody like her in MY squadron though...
Could these girls be more overacheivers?
