Well our G_dubya has gone and named Saddam Hussein a "Prisoner of War". This seems kind of ludicrous considering that there are several AMERICAN CITIZENS languishing in jail cells, held indefinitley and incomunicado, with no access to lawyers with no charges other than being label an "enemy combatant".
Being labeled a POW you are entitled to certain rights under the Genva convention. This is why Bush has refused to give POW status to various soldiers, mujadeem, muslims and other "national security risks", even those with american citizenship.
It used to mean something to be an american. It means now you can be thrown into a prison, refused any redress of grievance, or access to attorney, or even habeus corpus, BECAUSE your a U.S. citizen.
Welcome to Amerika!

Yeah, wait till Howard Dean gets arrested for being an enemy combatant, oh, about 3 weeks before the election. After all, he will be trying to overthrow the government.
