Anyone else following this?...Another round of nominations will fire-off this evening, and I am betting that Veronica will garner the most votes...

I have been rooting for El Pato because he is just a few months older than I and thus I sympathize a bit more with his world view...When he was nominated a couple of weeks back and then blurted-out in the confessional that if he was allowed to win he would donate half of the haul to charity, I for one believed him...I think the majority of the Mexican viewing public, tho, collectively rolled their eyes...

Nice touch, too, that El Pato capped his surprise declaration with a heartfelt testimony to President Vicente Fox...I think the guy's sincere...I bit of an oddball, but sincere in a refreshingly naive sort of way...

I have finally decided that Rocio is OK-looking, altho the sexiest chica was Denisse and she was tossed the very first week for being, well, a little too slutty...She parlayed her infamy into a brief stint on Salome where she portrayed-- of all things-- an exotic dancer...

Perhaps she'll embark on a tour and book a couple of nights over at Diva's?...

Gabriel-- El Rasta-- is probably the most intelligent, balanced, and accomplished of the bunch...Whether this fact will allow him to win, however, is another story...

In this weeks edition of "Cambio" there is a picture of Denise sans ropa. She is holding a blanket or something in front of strategic locations but she is definitely hot. In the interview section she says she is into sex.
I agree with you she is the hottest. I don't watch the program much, what happened to the Homo doctor? Is he the one they sent off to Spain?

Batster1:

Yes, El Doc won the trip to Espana and is back now...Everyone in the house seems to like the guy (hence they voted for him on the Espana trip) but he seems to me to be a bit of a whiner and troublemaker...

The guy ("galan") that flew in from Espana works as a male stripper and he got his game on with Rocio-- which totally pissed Gabriel off, apparently...He and Rocio have had a little thing going...

My girlfriend gives me a hard time about "having a thing for Denisse," but she was kind enough to pick-up the magazine you referenced and is saving it for me until we can hook-up next week...

It's the stupidest shit in a long, long line of stupid shit TV, but it is INSANELY POPULAR in Mexico. The soap opera of all time in the all time land of the soap operas. Enjoy.

By Youngbrig on Thursday, May 23, 2002 - 11:27 am:  Edit

Porker: Indeed, it is extremely popular with the chicas...A Monger's-- err, Hombre's-- willingness to bone-up on a few Big Brother facts can go a long way towards filling-in those uncomfortable moments between ficha drinks when the conversation lulls a bit with his little ficha chica...

Nominees for the big boot last night were Veronica and Gabriel, with Carla and Rocio being nominated as well by Big Brother-- in an unprecedented move-- for plotting against Gabriel...

What drama and intrigue!...I'm just happy that El Pato survived another round...My educated guess is that Veronica will be the one that winds-up getting tossed this time...Her conniving ways are about to catch up with her, it appears...

Cannot begin to describe how bummed I am about El Pato getting the boot last night...Very good guy who deserved better...He gambled by voting against his two rivals (Rocio and Gabriel) and it cost him as he wound up losing the popularity contest with the public...

I guess Mexicanos have a problem with guys that stick their nose into the Bible, yo no se...

Anyway, its obviously a horserace now between Rocio and El Rasta, with my hedge going to El Rasta...The grand finale is this Sunday...

Oh, and by the way, boning-up on a few Big Brother facts can only help you with the chicas...their faces really light up when you can crack jokes about "La mapacha" (Denisse) and "El Doc" (Eduardo)...Knowledge like this can really be a boost to your evening with your favorita...

IMHO...

YoungBrig,

I have ot seen this in awhile. El Pato was pretty cool. You know that he comes from one of the richer families in Mexico don't you? I think he is a Sada. Big, Big bucks. One of the few occassions I saw the show, his parents flew over the casa in their personal copter.

He was a cool dude, but probably not much liked in liberal circles. He is fairly religious, He is a Panista, he is rich. I did not think he would make it through.

Batster1:

I also saw the helicopter flyover; El Pato's emotions were certainly genuine...

I saw his Mother and Father, too, in various interviews and they strike me as being rather decent and kindhearted people...His family appears to be an example of at least one case in which money was not a corrupting influence from a charactor perspective...

Despite his age, Pato had a kindof childlike naivete about him that I found refreshing...It was telling that Rocio chose him over El Rasta for her big dinner outing the night before the final expulsion...

I was in Monterrey with my gf about two weeks ago and she took me to Plaza San Augustin-- a very upscale mall near El Pato's colonia...Tijuana has nothing comparable...

My official prediction for the grande finale este noche: El Rasta va a ganar...

I have thought all along-- as I posted previously-- that he was the most well-rounded and accomplished-- and thus the strongest-- of the bunch...We will see tonight if the public agrees...

I would think that Rocio would be the only legitimate contender; polls have consistently shown that Eric and Carla are simply not very popular-- tho they are very agreeable from a character standpoint...

Rocio, by the way, is looking better and better to me from a physical standpoint...Thin but with a nice chest and delicate features...

Rocio wins...Apparently pulling-it out by a single percentage point over El Rasta...I will dig for more info tomorrow...

Not that anyone gives a crap or anything, but this program has been good "therapy"...

Youngbrig,

We have too much time on our hands. LOL. You have followed Big brother with the same devotion I have had following "Entre el Amor y el Odio"
Las Novelas are the stupidest things But somehow I got hooked on this one.

Rocio is not bad at all. She has a nice body and if she makes herself up, I bet she is real hot.

El Pato was the coolest. I thought it was pretty funny that they gave him the cow.

Monterrey has several nice areas but I don't thing anything in Mexico can beat areas of the D.F. There are some really tony shopping centers there like Santa Fe, and Galerias en Polanco.
I was in the D.F over the weekend, just got back last night and realized how much I miss the place. I love that city.

And not to pry, but how has Big Brother been good therapy?

Los integrantes de Big Brother are all over the television right now...I have no doubt that the furor will eventually fade but their collective stars are shining quite brightly ahora...

Rocio is currently a conductora on VidaTV (that show where everyone is always getting up and dancing) while regular conductora Galilea Montijo spends three weeks doing the Big Brother VIP thing...Apparently Rocio is taking crashcourses in acting and conducting at the CEA school in D.F. that produces all of the novela actors and actrizes...

Last weekend El Pato was interviewed by the luscious Vica Andrade (new calendario forthcoming!!) on "Al Fin de Semana"...apparently he has signed a contract and will be working with a theatrical troupe...he is also denying allegations of psychological problemas-- I think the Mexican press struggles with his Christian proclivities...

Eric guested on VidaTV throughout the week...El Doc and Carla spent time on "La Oreja"...Veronica debuted her budding singing career on "Hoy"...

On a sad note, TV y Novelas is reporting that Denisse has been tossed from her VJ slot on RitmoSon for, well, carrying on a bit too much like a pompous "estrella"...

Why am I not surprised at that?...

Despite his many protestations to the contrary, it is pretty obvious that El Rasta is bitterly disappointed at not winning...Especially frustrating, I am sure, is that the margin of his loss was a fraction of a percentage point...They did give him a car, but...He strategized and strategized but couldn't pull it off...Apparently he is sifting through an assortment of film options...

Stay tuned for Big Brother VIP...

This month's Mexican edition of Playboy features none other than Denisse-- "la Mapacha"-- on the cover...Inside Denisse goes nude for the first time but in true Playboy fashion, she is virtually unrecognizable-- in other words, she comes off much hotter in the mag than in real life...

I will say, tho, that she does possess a certain morena sensuality...

She was featured heavily this past week on "La Oreja," and "Hoy" invited her to the set, where it appeared to me that Arturo Peniche and Laura Flores could barely conceal their contempt for her...

Significantly, only Diego and a very pregnant Azalia-- of the rest of the integrantes-- bothered to show-up for Denisse's Playboy-sponsered "Coming-Out" party...But of such, I imagine, is the tortured trajectory of fame...

Denisse, at least, appears to be surviving...What has become of "El Rasta,"-- or "El Lic"-- for that matter?...

Just a heads-up that Carla is currently living in Tijuana and hosting a morning info/entertainment program based loosely on Televisa's successful "Hoy" model...It is featured on and recorded at Tijuana's Canal Dose (XEWT) and kicks-in at about 8am, I believe...

This week "El Doc" was in the house and for a few minutes it was just like old times, with the agreeable Tapatio sitting cross-legged on the floor in his trademark cotton polo and yapping away with that boyish grin of his...I imagine it will be but a matter of time before El Pato pays a visit to our fair city for a stint on Carla's gig...

My guess is that Televisa sees some talent in Carla and that they have also decided that el Pueblo Mexicano actually LIKES her...Bigger and better things await her-- am I the only one that can picture her hamming-it-up with Ernesto La Guardia in that motley but wildly popular dance-show, "El Club"?...
