Election 2004

Xenono,
Thanks for the poll websites. I have a feeling the Bush candidacy is unraveling. I guess we will know better after the convention bumps where the electorate stands.
I would be shocked if Bush carries my home state of Pennsylvania though some of the polls had this a toss-up state. They must have asked a boatload of 'the DAR' respondents to get these wacky figures.
Florida in the Kerry column? Hmmm. Perhaps.
Happy Trails, Lancer
I cannot say anything good about Ralph Nader.

It is the economy and jobs stupid?

And yet the Democrats have a rep for spending too much money? That is laughable...

Bush Tax Cuts Heavily Favor Rich, CBO Says -Reports
NEW YORK (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites)'s tax cuts have transferred the federal tax burden from the richest Americans to middle-class families, with one-third of them benefiting people with the top 1 percent of income, according to a government report cited in newspapers on Friday.
The report said the top 1 percent, with incomes averaging $1.2 million per year, will receive an average $78,460 tax cut this year, and have seen their share of the total tax burden fall roughly 2 percentage points to 20.1 percent, according to The New York Times.
In contrast, households in the middle 20 percent, with incomes averaging $57,000 per year, will receive an average cut of only $1,090, the newspaper said, citing the CBO report.

$1,090. My Ass!
The Courage of George W. Bush
Let's see, once he was told aboutthe attacks on the WTC, he froze for 7 minutes.
Then, he spent the day flying around the country, avoiding getting a personal attack.
After that, he used our military to crush a rag tag Afgan army.
After that, decided not to use our military to find Bin Laden, but instead to attack elsewhere, in Iraq.
I don't consider that courageous, I consider that politically savvy.
You know, when the Bush people respond to today's Bremer comments that there weren't enough troops on the ground in Iraq, they say that Bush gave his generals the job to figure out how many troops to deploy. Given that he made General Shinseki retire when Shenseki advocated more troops, this assertion by the Bush supporters is either appalling, since it indicates that Bush abdicated supervision of the generals, or just a lie.
