Cantonese is about as useless as tits on a bull when travelling in China. Only the folks in Hong Kong and Guangzou across the border will understand a word you say.

I started this thread because I am going to Hong Kong next month and I am going to try and learn a little Cantonese before I go.

I cannot exactly post the translations like I did for Spanish and Portuguese because of the Chinese characters, etc, but was thinking about posting the phonetic words in English as I heard them. For example,

You Can Understand - Nay Sec Tang

The only problem is that speed and tone play a major roll in this language and I cannot illustrate that in writing. Still, I am a visual learner and it helps when I write stuff out as I hear it so I was thinking about posting it anyway.
