Wierd shit. I used to use WinMX to download music and porn etc... then my university stopped giving out free wireless internet... (you have to register, and I am afraid that when I bring my laptop to them, they will figure out I was the one eating all of their bandwidth) so I don't use internet on my PC now. But, whever I boot up, it still tries to pop up web-browsers, and when they realize that they are not connecting, they immediately try to pop up more... until it says I have 128 web browsers open, and it crashes. Anyone know how to kill that without re-formating?

Sounds like Gator, which is a bitch to remove. My advice is to download a copy of PestPatrol and run it. It will probably take an hour, but it will root everything out, clean up the registry, things like that.

Stry spybot search and destroy. it's free and top rated. It'll also immunize your comp from future spy/ad-ware
