I have a number of friends who are in some form of law enforcement so this is not a derogatory post. I am amazed though when a "trained" person becomes blind to their surroundings all for the sake of pussy!

I love the irony. Why would a cop shit in his own back yard? ...probably because he thought he could get a way with it.

"His wife took him to a hospital." I can just picture him tell'n his wife that he slipped in the shower.

It's too bad he had to get shot trying to get some trim.

Interesting article. There have been many, many incidences similar to this, regarding off-duty cops "steppin' on their dicks," so to speak. I could create a whole new thread about all the countless stories I know about cop vs. hooker from in and around the LA County area. If I did choose to post some of the truly remarkable occurrences that I personally know and have heard about, most mongers probably wouldn't believe me.

It is truly astounding some of the stuff I know when it comes to off-duty incidences similar to this. I'm just surprised it actually made the newspapers. Most police departments would make sure it's handled internally and would keep the incident private.

It is unfortunate that something like this will now cost this officer his career, if not some serious suspended time off for the incident, not to mention conditional requirements to fit his punishment,ie: mandatory attendance for AIDS awareness classes, psychological and fitness for duty evaluation, etc., not to mention facing a possible filing by the City Attorney's office. (647b pc)

It is another sad case of not using appropriate common sense and knowing that in the real world, not everything is what it seems, meaning, I bet the would-be hookers just looked too good for him to pass up. I can almost guarantee this guy has less than five years on the job, because a real "street cop" is a cop on and off duty and smells danger a mile away.

A true veteran seasoned cop wouldn't have got anywhere near involved in the first place.

That guy was a complete idiot to do something illegal and risk his job when tj is right next to us.

By Milkman on Sunday, June 23, 2002 - 08:23 am:  Edit

I don't see how this guy could be a police officer if he is this stupid how did he become a cop ?
I mean this could have been a sting also.
I always have wondered if cops , custom agents , border patrol get their knobs polished in TJ.

I have met 3 different people in TJ who have said they are some of sort of Law enforcment.

This week I have met another customs agent that lives in my complex that makes 4 now living in my area.

Poor Bastard cant catch a break as he has been transfered from NewYork to Texas to Arizona and now here in SAn Diego in the past 5 years.
He is hoping to stay here.

I find that many in law enforcement are above the law.

One example:

A friend of mine was leaving a Chargers game and his car engine caught on fire on highway 8 in Mission Valley. I saw and recognized him and stopped to help as I had a fire extinguisher. By the time we got it under control 2 highway patrol cars and a firetruck were there. Two guys drive by that appear to be feelng no pain and slowly lift up open beers cans to obviously their follow officers. One on duty CHP laughs and says"you crazy SOB get out of here. They are all laughing until they see my look. One walks over and says to be "nothing happened"

How many pulled over off duty law enforcement officers ever get ticketed? I know my friends in the business don't receive tickets.

I would guess very few get tickets.

By Merenpapi on Sunday, June 23, 2002 - 01:07 pm:  Edit

Off-duty cops generally don't get ticketed when pulled over, even when travelling in another jurisdiction. It's known as "professional courtesy".

I know 'cause my brother is a cop!

By Ahora007 on Sunday, June 23, 2002 - 03:43 pm:  Edit

I have gotten pulled over in San Diego and the first thing the cop sees is my siren/radio. I have been given a warning and also a blue ticket which keeps a record of a stop but does not fine or give you a DMV record. I have also been given tickets. It all depends if you are doing something like driving 20 miles over the speed limit or 80 miles over. I traveled through nebraska last year and was shown no mercy. I got 3 tickets for going over 110 in corn country and had to pay all 3 tickets on the spot.

By Snapper on Sunday, June 23, 2002 - 04:13 pm:  Edit

Driving through Nebraska is enough punishment itself.

By Beachman on Sunday, June 23, 2002 - 06:24 pm:  Edit

Ahora-

How do you keep your license with all the points for going over 110. I would think the second time or at least the third time they would stick your butt in jail to think about it. Tell me if my memory is bad but I recall you jumping someones ass some time back about drinking and driving. Well driving 110 Is just as dangerous and you risk hurting or injuring innocent people.

By Masterbates on Sunday, June 23, 2002 - 08:20 pm:  Edit

Ahora 007, just out of curiosity, why do you carry a radio/siren in your vehicle?

My understanding has been that CHP do not really care if you are law enforcement, they ticket everybody, my cousin in INS hated them. In some states (nebraska?) Federal law enforcement will be shown no mercy.

Beachman driving 110 down a straight road while sober with no cars around for miles in the farmland does not put anyones life in danger. Driving drunk even at 10 miles an hour does. If I get stopped while I am not working and I am driving to fast I expect to get a ticket and if I dont it is a pleasant surprise. I have been trained to drive at 100mph + and have to do it often so I would not worry about that.

By Kendricks on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 11:28 am:  Edit

Powerslave, thank you for posting the deliciously dark irony of the hatred your cousin, who makes his living by enforcing an arbitrary line drawn in the sand against others, feels toward the CHP for their diligent enforcement of arbitrary speed limits against him.

By Ben on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 01:44 pm:  Edit

Ahora trained to drive a 100 miles an hour therefore no danger???

Give me a break.

I grew up in rural Oklahoma, lots of farm roads with very little traffic some that are straight for miles.. The problems of driving fast down these roads can be hitting an animal, both domestic or wild, are enfamous. you hit a cow at 100 mph and not much left. It happens allot. Same applies to a deer.

In addition many of these rural drivers are notorious for pulling out into the highways and farm roads with paying much attention. Not very good drivers with many under age kids driving without licenses and many old farmers who are justnot very skilled at driving.

Many deaths attributed to excessive speed on these roads.

Same applies to the turnpikes and freeways in these rural states.

Man, at least I didn't rationalize the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Thank you Beachman for pointing this out. I owe you a beer and a ride home if we ever meet.

By sampson on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 01:53 pm:  Edit

Beachman, my advice is to find your own way home. you don't want to get in the car with an old farmer that is just not very skilled.

By Ben on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 02:19 pm:  Edit

Sampson,

Why aren't you working?

Beachman,

My skills improve after a few beers, as I have been self trained to drink while driving.

Ben, good points. I found the following info at http://www.extension.umn.edu/extensionnews/2000/ruraldriving.html

Take steps to protect yourself from dangers of rural driving

When you're driving on a highway in a rural area, you're at greater risk for a fatal crash than when you're driving in the city. You need to protect yourself when driving in the country, says John Shutske, farm safety and health specialist with the University of Minnesota Extension Service.

"In Minnesota, over two-thirds of all motor vehicle fatalities occur in rural areas," Shutske points out.

One of the most important things you can do to be safer on rural roads is to slow down, says Shutske. Keep your speed at or below the posted limits. If you're driving in the country and don't see a posted speed limit sign, remember that the maximum legal speed on most open non-freeway and non-interstate highways is 55 miles per hour. Speed limits are often posted lower because of road conditions, construction, curves, or hills.

Hi Beachman long time no hear from.

Well when i took the move and drove from Boston to San Diego the average loser on RT 69 was going about 90 to 100.
I kept pace at 90 and I saw lots of roadkill on the pavement.
In the country they do not clean the roads of roadkill they just let them evaporate.
Its funny because a lot look like they are painted on the roads.
They are so thinned out from the hundreds of cars that run them over daily.
It now kinda reminds me of TJ
In New England hitting a deer even a small one can fuck up your car it happens often.
Just watch out for the bears !!

Well take care guys

This was freeway al the way with all cornfields and barren area coudlnt miss a thing. Nitpick all you want but by drunk driving you put alot of peoples lives in danger. I on the other hand only risked mine which 110 on a freeway with no cars or people around is not that fast as the speed limit is already set about 85mph

By Ben on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 04:58 pm:  Edit

Man you are never wrong.

Typical response from you.

I will have to remember that the next time I am stopped for speeding in a rural area.

You rationalization for driving a 110 is incredible.

Do you understand how silly/stupid you sound?

By Ben on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 04:59 pm:  Edit

By the way, if you couldn't miss a thing how come you got a ticket?

By Ben on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 05:05 pm:  Edit

Oh, Inever denied that driving drunk is dangerous to the driver or to others. I am not denying anything.

You are saying that by driving on a freeway in rural Nebraska at 110 you only put yourself in danger.

Man, I am jusy shocked that you got a ticket with that kind of logic.

By sampson on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 05:06 pm:  Edit

pal, i in all likelihood am one of your biggest supporters on this board, but you can't be to suprised by the comments. i'm thinking their points are valid, and you would just say something like--i should probably use better judgment in the future.

i'm the one that paid the fine when driving in mexico with beer on my breath. i don't know if i was legally drunk or not, but i do know that if i'm not 100% sure i shouldn't be driving. i was wrong.

now as a officer of the law, i would guess a person in your permission would be big enough to say the same. i could care less how fast you drive--if my car would go 110 hell i might be doing the same. i just wouldn't try to rationalize why it is ok.

By Kendricks on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 05:21 pm:  Edit

I would have all sorts of smart ass comments about this thread, all my experience with cows and drunk driving and such, but I am still dumbstruck by Ahoras admission that he broke the law. My faith in law enforcement has been badly shaken.

Semi Off topic long story. In 86 I got a DUI. I had been drinking but I was well within my limits. The real problem was that I was distracted.

My cousin and I were at a wedding and he picked up a little spinner. We were going back to his apartment to continue the party. I was driving and the spinner was in my cousins lap. The little bitch pulled her top down and was rubbing her own tits. She then hiked her skirt up and my cousin was fingering her. I was swerving all over the place. But it was not because I had too many beers. I was watching the show. LOL

So I got pulled over. Like an idiot I was honest and told the officer that I had been to a wedding and had some drinks. I passed the field sobriety tests and should have been turned loose. But he was a dick and made me blow on the machine. The read out did not work so he should have turned me loose again. But he didn't. He took me in for DUI.

I tried to tell the asshole that he would have been in the same situation as I if he had seen th ehot little bitch going crazy. I di not go to court because I moved out of the country soon after. If I would have gone to court it would have been dismissed. As it was, it was reduced to reckless driving.

About 1 year later I heard that this asshole cop was kicked off the force for drinking and driving. REPEATEDLY. What a dick.

Uh don't think the speed limit is 85mph Ahora.

From the Nebraska State Patrol:

What is the speed limit in Nebraska?

Speed limits vary by type of roadway and by the characteristics of the road. Generally speaking, the rural interstate speed limit is 75 mph (miles per hour) while the limit near or in urban areas is 65 mph or less. Each driver is responsible for knowing the speed limit on the road he or she is traveling. Four lane divided roads generally have a 65 mph limit. Two lane highways have varying speed limits. Again, drivers are responsible for knowing the limits on the roads they drive.

Man what is this thing about making claims which are just not accurate?

Really disappointing.

By Beachman on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 07:41 pm:  Edit

Ahora-

I am from that part of the country ....so I had to call my uncle In Lincoln, Nebraska who is retired from the State Hi-way Patrol in Nebraska. According to him there is no way you would be able to pay your ticket on the spot and that by State law if you where going over 100 mph they would have arrested you the first time ....not to say what they would have done the second and third time.

You still haven't explain how you kept your license with the points and how you are even able to obtain insurance with three tickets driving over 100 mph. I know for a fact that Nebraska reports their traffic infractions to other states and I would think if you are in law enforcement they would review your driving record periodically for insurance and liability purposes. If they aren't ...maybe they should!

You are only fooling yourself when you say there is no danger driving over 100 mph on a road or freeway you are not familar with. You say you are trained to drive over 100 mph but that is in a police car that has been rigged to handle it.

Kendricks is here because the only way the coward can get to me is through the computer he is to scared to debate with me in person. Ben I would worry about how dangerous it is to fuck that sp crack whore you have or are you really into her for her kid?

Unbelivable.

Do you realize how unintelligent/stupid your response to driving 110mph sounds?

By Kendricks on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 07:38 am:  Edit

Bwahahahaha!!! No mention of how 1) the Nebraska speed limit is 75 mph not 85 mph; 2) getting pulled over for going over 110 would likely result in a reckless driving arrest and impound - not to mention what would happen by the THIRD time; and 3) there is no way in hell that Nebraska cops would allow someone to pay a fine on the spot (what do you think this is, Tijuana?)

It's pretty funny how once his lies are exposed, AhoraWalterMitty resorts to personal attacks, in an attempt to divert attention from his own bullshit. Ben is a fine human being, and my purpose in going to Tijuana is to have fun, not to spend time "debating" with insane secret agent wannabes. Launching personal attacks only exposes the obvious weakness of your position, just like your other fabrications (like you being part of a task force that busted Hotel Leyva - HA!)

Besides, Ben has been self-trained to drive after he's had a few drinks, so I wouldn't worry about that. Reminds me of the time that I was downing a few beers while driving my super-secret Stealth spy plane over Washington air space at 110 mph, and was pulled over *three times* by sky marshals. They let me go after I showed them my super-secret agent decoder ring, but I had to pay a fine on the spot each time....

By Beachman on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 08:02 am:  Edit

Ahora-

First of all it was my uncle ...not a convenint friend. Second of all.... before you accuse someone of being "wrong wrong wrong wrong" you should read your own postings.

On June 23 at 3:43 PM you posted- "I traveled through nebraska last year and was shown no mercy. I got 3 tickets for travelling over 110 in corn country and had to pay all 3 tickets on the spot."

In your own words you said it happened last LAST YEAR.

Now.... since you have been confronted with the holes in your story.....you now claim and posted on June 25 at 1:24 AM that " I never said what I did was right but it was also years ago"

The lesson to be learned here is don't Bullshit with Bullshitters......the board is filled with them and sooner later someone will call you on a story where the facts can be proved.

By Ben on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 09:04 am:  Edit

I guess what your are saying is somewhat true, but I don't believe for a minute you were only flying at 110 mph.

I also want to know how you evaded the F 14's who came up to shoot your ass down for flying over restricted air space?
