Actually it was about 4 years ago when this happened. The 3 tickets were not for 110 but 1 for 110 one for 95 and one for 92. As it was so long ago I may have gotten the speed limit wrong so god forbid. Lots of the freeway from california to michigan is indeed 85 mph. Kendricks I didnt know they had spy planes in the 4H club. I still think we should get together to have a drink but as always you like to insult people behind your computer instead of face to face. Masterbates everything I ave in my car is required by my job so why would that be asking for trouble? Kendricks if I am making things up why dont you meet me in person and I will verify everything I have told you including showing you my credentials. Then you can get down on your knees and apologize you coward.

By Ben on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 11:26 am:  Edit

Ahora,

The original point of this discussion was that you were driving 110 mph and have continued justifing the situation in your posts. Saying it was no danger to others among other things.

In addition you seem to continuely criticize other proples actions yet act like you are above reproach

Now listen very careful.

Your only rebuttal is to either personally try to insult people, say it is OK because other people drive fast, other people do things worst than driving fast, change your story, question there honesty, or threaten them and call them cowards.

Why don't you just say: "Your right and I am wrong. I fucked up and it was stupid to drive 110 mph".

Unless you can defend what I feel is a indefensible position, you just look stupid.

And this on going threatening of other people is really stupid.

It would seem to me that if you are in law enforcement, if you own any assets, if you want to retain your job, you would not go around publically threatening people. Too many witnesses.

Why do you eventually always go to the lowest common denominator?

By Kendricks on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 11:49 am:  Edit

Ben, it is true that *if* he was in law enforcement, *if* he owned any assets, etc., he wouldn't want to be threatening people on a public forum.

This is why, when discussions get heated, I make it a point to clarify the fact that I am not threatening anyone with anything. This is a discussion forum, and I am here to discuss issues. Period.

There is simply nothing anyone could say to me here that would justify violence (and I'm a guy who believes in violent solutions, when appropriate!) Of course, this is because I actually have a life outside of the forum.... I used to get in fist fights over stupid shit when I was younger, but I have outgrown that foolishness.

Now, let us ask ourselves: why would a larger than life super secret agent pick a "007" handle, and then get so worked up when people poke holes in his bullshit stories that he starts threatening people? Walter Mitty Syndrome.

I almost feel sorry for Ahora. Then, I remember when he said that undocumented immigrants deserve to die in the desert, when he said that guys deserve to get busted and humiliated for playing around with hookers, and the way he seems to believe that "doing what you are told" is the highest value to which people can aspire. Then, suddenly, my sympathy for this sad, pathetic man dissolves away, and I laugh my ass off instead.

Ahora, would you care to point out the states between California and Michigan that have 85 mph speed limits? Here is a link to a chart of nationwide speed laws: http://www.hwysafety.org/safety_facts/state_laws/speed_limit_laws.htm

Also, here is a sentence you posted earlier: "I traveled through nebraska last year and was shown no mercy. I got 3 tickets for going over 110 in corn country and had to pay all 3 tickets on the spot." Are you finally admitting that this is bullshit?

If not, care to explain how you were able to pay the fine on the spot, instead of simply signing a promise to appear? Or why it went from being one year ago to four years ago? Or why the speeds you were stopped at suddenly dropped so dramatically?

Man, what an interesting question.

I bought 1000 shares in January based on the fact it had been a $200 stock and recently had come down from the $60's to the $50's.

I have been hedging the stock with call options but I am still in the stock at over $38.

See the spreadsheet:

Options Account
Qualcomm
Price
Date Description Price Per Share

1-07-02 Bought 1000 Shares $48,255.00 $48.26

1-07-02 Sold 10 April 40 Calls ($11,095.00) ($11.10)

1-07-02 Net Cost Per share $37,160.00 $37.16

2-21-02 Bought 10 April 40 Calls $1,205.00 $1.21

2-21-02 Sold 10 April 35 Calls ($2,395.00) ($2.40)

2-21-02 Net Cost Per Share $35,970.00 $35.97

3-04-02 Bought to Close 10 April 35 Calls $4,955.00 $4.96

3-04-02 Sold 10 July 45 Calls ($2,295.00) ($2.30)

3-04-02 Net Cost Per Share $38,630.00 $38.63

Stock is currently selling at $26.36 and I am down $12,000 if I were to sell.

I guess if I liked it at $48 , I must love it at $26.

As far as I know they have no accounting issues, they have a good basic business and good business plan. Their debt is low.

If they ever really get their CDMA technology accepted in China they will kick ass all over Asia and probably eventually the whole word.

The problem is that Europe and much of the world does not want to use CDMA and have to pay QCOM a royalty.

I think because of what they call Third generation devices many will turn to CDMA technolgy for its speed and capacity.
The analyst that follow QCOM give it a mixed bag with two recent downgrades on the stock.

Telecommunications stocks have been ripped for the last few years, but I think there will be survivors who will prosper and so will their stock holders.

Why would a communist like you want to know about stocks?

I'm actually not a communist, Ben, although I am kind of conflicted... I'm not impressed by the limo and country club scene, and I don't give a shit about wearing nice clothes or impressing people with wealth or any of that crap. I do think most of civilization is completely fucking useless, as we have discussed in the past...

On the other hand, so long as it exists, I might as well make all the cash I can, to enjoy the truly finer things of life with (most of which can be found in Tijuana and Vegas...) I took some hits last year and the beginning of this year, but nothing too bad. I'm completely out of the market right now, but looking to get back in, back to basics with some good oldfashioned Graham and Dodd style value picks.

So calling me a communist is off the mark - I'm more of a right wing anarchist, or a left wing capitalist, or some shit like that...

Sense we are on the subject of money, I would like to throw this out for opinions.

This is not my original thoughts although I have shortened it by quite a bit.

I am not opposed to taxes and feel I pay my fair share.

If you spend may two minutes reading this you will understand our tax system

The conversation turned to the government's
recent round of tax cuts. "I'm opposed to those tax cuts," the retired college instructor declared, "because they benefit the rich.
The rich get much more money back than ordinary taxpayers like you and me, and that's not fair."

"But the rich pay more in the first place," I argued, "so it stands to reason that they'd get more money back."

I could tell that my friend was unimpressed by this meager argument. Even college instructors are prisoners of the myth that the "rich" somehow get a free ride.Nothing could be further from the truth.

Let's put tax cuts in terms everyone can
understand.

Suppose that every day 10 men go to dinner.
The bill for all ten comes to $100. If it was paid the way we pay our taxes, the first four men would pay nothing; the fifth would pay $1; the sixth would pay $3; the seventh $7; the
eighth $12; the ninth $18. The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

The 10 men ate dinner in the restaurant every
day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement until the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are all such goodcustomers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your dailymeal by $20."

Now dinner for the 10 only costs $80.

The first four are unaffected. They still eat for free. Can you figure out how to divvy up the $20 savings among the remaining six so that everyone gets his fair share?
The men realize that $20 divided by 6 is $3.33, but if they subtract thatfrom everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would end up being paid to eat their meal.

The restaurant owner suggested that it would > > be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so the fifth man paid nothing, the sixth
pitched in $2, the seventh paid $5, the eighth paid $9, the ninth paid $12, leaving the tenth man with a bill of $52instead of $59.

Outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. "I only got a dollar out the $20," declared the sixth man pointing to the tenth, "and he got $7!" "Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got seven times more than me!

"That's true," shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $7 back when I got only $2? The wealthy get all the breaks."
"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in> > unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor.

"The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The nextnight he didn't show up for dinner, so the nine sat down and ate without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They were $52 > short!

And that, hombres, is how the tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up at the table anymore.

By Kendricks on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 02:23 pm:  Edit

I'll play devil's advocate with you, Ben. In reality, the guys aren't all eating the same meal - the rich benefit a lot more from the existence of the system than the poor do. In fact, an argument could be made that the system exists primarily to keep the poor down, and the bulk of resources and privileges in the hands of the rich.

The poorest guys grow up in neighborhoods where they are routinely brutalized by both their neighbors and the system, and the middle class spend their days working to benefit the rich. The rich enjoy the finest cars, food, wine, drugs, women, hotels, clothes, service, etc., at the expense of the work of the lower classes. Then, the rich complain that they system takes advantage of them?

Of course, this is where my conflict I was telling you about comes in - when I visit third world countries, I am happy to enjoy the buying power that my US dollars bring with me....

Graham and Dodd.

I think Graham died in La Jolla.

Their principals were almost forgotten during the mid 90's.

Harsh reminder in the past two years that Graham theorys still work.

By the way I doubt he would buy Qcom at $26.00.

He would but FNF First National Financial at less tham 9 times earing with a small dividend and a very simple business. Not suggesting you buy it But i have done well by owning it.

By Ben on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 02:44 pm:  Edit

I will grant you the fact that the rich guys get the best benefits. Of course they do, they are rich. But if they knew they had nothing to gain why would they work, create and think so hard and take the risk?
If it wasn't for the "rich" guys who invest the money which create the jobs there wouldn't be much of a middle class for that matter.
When a person pays 45% of what they make in taxes they begin to start thinkink of reasons not to make money or they start tryng to finds ways to avoid paying taxes.

Many, litterly hindreds of thousands of educated people leave Europe each year to live in the U. S. because their tax systems are so prohibitive. By the way we welcome these people with open arms and they don't have to walk across the desert to grt in to our country.. Its a brain drain on their countries and a plus for our country.

Taxes are necessary, but i am sick of hearing how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The rich pay most of the taxes yet no matter what they pay many feel they need to pay more.

Redistribution of wealth never works as the smart /cunning ones still get the money in the end.

Pretty much the way Darwin described it.

It's funny to look back at how Buffett was mocked for missing out on the tech boom. Suddenly he looks like a wise guru again, instead of an old fool who missed the bus.

Thanks for mentioning FNF - it does look solid. I'm no expert, but the fact that they have been trending upward in the face of a slide in all the indexes, have no long term debt and a lot of cash on hand also seem to be positive indicators. Are these also things that you look for?

By Kendricks on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 02:56 pm:  Edit

I do agree with a lot of what you are saying, Ben. I disagree that all of the rich are smart and cunning, as I have known some trust fund kids who are successful simply because of the financial backing and political influence they were born into. Look at GW Bush, for example. Of course, throwing money at uneducated welfare mothers will do nothing to benefit them long term, either, so I'm not arguing in favor of wealth redistribution, either (unless somebody wants to give ME some. I wouldn't argue with that.)

This off topic thread has really gotten off its original off topic topic.

By Ben on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 03:05 pm:  Edit

Normally have stayed away from tech stocks except for Qcom and it was a fling I think I can work out of over the next few months.

I also like some of the energy companies like ExxonMobil. You will not get rich over night, but look how well it has done over the long haul with very little downside.

Another company which you might want to watch is Evergreen resources. The stock is a little expensive, but natural gas is going to start moving up in the next few years and EVG will do well. They can make money in most economic climates, but we are going to have real shortages in natural gas over the next few years and when not if the price goes up you will see these small gas exporation companies move up nicely.

Also some of the oil service companies. I would stay away from Halliburton, but Noble Drilling, Global Sante Fe and some of the others are going to do well, I think.

Please note you could lose your money and there is risk involved in all of these suggestions

By Ben on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 03:11 pm:  Edit

You are right about George W Bush. The more he talks the more i distrust his judgement.

Our economy is in trouble and it may not do better as soon as many sre predicting. This goes on to much longer and he will have to invade Iraq just to get re elected.

I can't believe he said Arafat needs to go in order to have peace. Man the arabs will just hate us even more after that speech.

By Kendricks on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 03:21 pm:  Edit

I suspect that a lot of the talk of recovery is an effort to "speak a recovery into existence". It does not appear to be working. If Bush does invade Iraq in order to get elected, I'm sure his handlers have learned from his father's mistake, and will launch the assault closer to election day. I was shaking my head after the "Arafat must go" speech, too.

Thanks for the analysis you posted above, by the way. I'll be sure to do my own due diligence on those companies.

By Ben on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 03:32 pm:  Edit

Absolutely right about Iraq being invaded closer to election time. I would guess within six- nine months of Pres. election.

If I was Hussin I would let the inspectors in and just kill the generals who get caught with weapons of mass distruction. Tell the inspectors and the world that it was a military conspiracy.

WELL. Let ME add MY 2 cents, because I just can't stand not to, regarding this whole law enforrcement who is and who isn't business. The first thing I want to say is that I can GUARANTEE you all that anyone truly employed in law enforcement, more than likely will NEVER admit it on a post site like this. I would'nt say where I work out here on this site even if I worked at Mc Donald's, so why the hell should anyone think that a cop would admit that that is what they are OUT HERE? Ask Hombre, he knows a few of who is law enforcement personell out here. He will tell you that the people he knows of, they never state out here that they are employed in law enforcement. Anyone that posts that they are involved in law enforcement out here is either not thinking correctly IMHO or they are trying to get attention. I know of a couple of law enforcement personnel are out here. One of them never posts ANYTHING and the other one posts like hell and never admits it.

One of the other things I wanted to say is that cops are just regular people who have what some others think is an interesting job. If a cop gets caught getting a BJ on duty, then it's all over the news and the community is like "OH MY GOD, HOW COULD THAT BASTARD DO THAT?" If The Manager at Mc Donald's is getting a blow job from Hortencia, his Asst. Mgr. then nobody gives a shit. So let's put things into perspective.

Let me disspell a few rumors while I am on a roll. Cops don't carry badges in their wallets (usually) and have lights, sirens and or radios permanently installed in their personal vehicle. How ridiculous! If you are on call like a detective, then you take a plain car home and you dont drive to go look for pussy or drive the car for non job related things. IF YOU MUST drive 100 mph, then you should have the fukin' siren on! I swear to god, I have been laughing my ass off this whole thread.

Kendricks, there is no such thing as all rural areas are more dangerous than all city areas or vice-versa. There are some rural areas that are safer to drive fast than the city areas and there are some city areas that are safer to drive faster than in some rural areas. People who make generalizing statements like that remind me of these people who say that they don't want to wear a seatbelt because they want to be "thrown clear" in case of an accident. They must have been already thrown clear and hit their heads a few times because anyone who has been on the scene of a few fatal accidents will tell you that if you are in an accident where the impact was bad enough to cause you to be thrown, then you would have been better belted into the vehilce. Not very many ejected people live.

Baster1 - Next time you get pulled over don't say anything. And blowing in a breathalizer or taking a field sobriety test is VOLUNTARY and the officer is SUPPOSED to tell you that. NOBODY should EVER do it. You should refuse and if you get arrested, you will soon be released unless someone's mailbox in on your front bumper. Get an ATTY. and any half way decent ATTY. will get your case thrown out for lack of evidence if there are no witnesses, no accidents, no injuries and no damage. **THIS DOES NOT CONSTITUTE LEGAL ADVICE, I AM JUST GIVING MY OPINION**

I drive over 100 mph on a daily basis. I am not saying that to impress anyone and YES it is VERY dangerous, no matter WHO does it. With proper trianing and in a properly outfitted vehicle and training on when to do it and when not to do it helps.

By Masterbates on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 04:26 pm:  Edit

kendricks, yes- that was already reported by CNN a couple of weeks ago. I think it's despicable that someone like this author is given air time and allowed to profit over this absurd bullshit. And speaking of absurd bullshit, I'm going to e-mail you with a link showing an actual photgraph of the ultimate communist of them all, Jane Fonda who's seated proudly on Vietnamese tanks and armored carriers. Ben is absolutely correct that the statement I posted re the safety of rural roads is from the University of Minnesota website, and quotes John Shutske, farm safety and health specialist with the University of Minnesota.

Also, this quote absolutely did not say that "all rural areas are more dangerous than all city areas", it simply said that when you're driving on a highway in a rural area, you're at greater risk for a fatal crash than when you're driving in the city. This is a true statement, just as saying that you are at a greater risk for being killed in an accident when you are not wearing a seatbelt than when you are wearing a seatbelt. In other words, Hugh's commentary re the dangers of rural driving is completely off base.

Hey ben and kendricks I dont remember threatning anyone. Just offered to have a beer and discussion which kendricks is to much of a coward to take me up on AGAIN. I only bash when bashed. I could say the sky was blue and would only be fefuted by assholes like you that get a kick on bashing people that are trying to make your lives better. Kendricks if if if find out in person. In nebraska people from out of state are nopt allowed to sign promises to appear as they would probably never come back therefore the money payed on the spot is used as a guarantee that you will come back or money is forfeited. As far as holes in my story that is also a joke. I wrote fast and didnt think enough about the exact circumstances as I dont think it was that important. I never justified what I did and as I did break a law I owned up to it and payed the maximum fine without contest. The speeds did not drop dramatically 110 to 93 is around the same area. I do not discuss what I do for work to impress anyone. It is more likely to help and inform. Hugh whatever you have no idea what I do or the regulations we have so again whatever. Kendricks I would suspect that you were discharged dishonerably from the military and therefore have a hippy attitude towards the country. Grow up and do something to help besides sitting on your ass. Ben you are older but I will say this. I find you a joke. Always tooting your own horn(no pun intended) on how much you spend on strollers for crackwhore and baby. I dont care if you have money or not but I will say that you are no humanitarian and must live a pathetic life to try to impress people by telling them how much money you have or spend on some worthless whore who obviously could give 2 shits about you. Any way both you and kendricks one day will be face to face with me when you are pointed out and I will offer you a beer and you may ask any questions you want. Then I am sure we will get along with a bit more respect. Oh and you are all right I am really an avacado picker who has no money car or life. Kendricks again for a "MARINE" you are a disgrace to your country and a coward to boot. You guys will have to start another post to get me pissed as I am done posting on this one.

By Kendricks on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 05:56 pm:  Edit

The sky isn't really blue, it just appears that way from the surface of Earth due to a phenomenon known as "Rayleigh scattering". As light moves through the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths pass straight through. Little of the red, orange and yellow light is affected by the air.

However, much of the shorter wavelength light is absorbed by the gas molecules. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. It gets scattered all around the sky. Whichever direction you look, some of this scattered blue light reaches you. Since you see the blue light from everywhere overhead, the sky looks blue.

As you look closer to the horizon, the sky appears much paler in color. To reach you, the scattered blue light must pass through more air. Some of it gets scattered away again in other directions. Less blue light reaches your eyes. The color of the sky near the horizon appears paler or white.

Similarly, on Earth, the sun appears yellow. If you were out in space, or on the moon, the sun would look white. In space, there is no
atmosphere to scatter the sun's light. On Earth, some of the shorter wavelength light (the blues and violets) are removed from the direct rays of the sun by scattering. The remaining colors together appear yellow.

Out in space, the sky looks dark and black, instead of blue. This is because there is no atmosphere. There is no scattered light to reach your eyes.

I said I got pulled over in 1986. Do the math. That was 16 years ago. I was a 20 year old idiot. I also noted that I was stupid by admitting that I had been drinking. But blowing the breathalyzer was not voluntary. Back in that day in some states if you refused to blow, it was considered admission of guilt. You could fight it by going through an administrative process but you were going to lose your liscence while you did so.

Field Sobriety tests were also not voluntary.

I also noted that I could have had the whole thing dismissed If I would have persued it, but I ws scheduled to leave the country in 3 weeks. Which I did. I did not go to court. Too much hassle. But the judge reduced the charge to reckless driving and I paid a fine of $360.00 And that was the end of it.

I related my experience to highlight the hipocrisy of many officers who get carried away with their power. This guy was a dickhead. And he had is own alchohol problems. But give him a badge and gee.

RE Ahora. I second Ben. I have also have heard from several people that Ahora is a government employee involved in law enforcement. But I don't know if he is with Her Majesty's government, or Uncle Sam. LOL. Sometimes he seems a little mysterious. But I saw him once in La Tropa and he seemed an OK sort. Although I think he took some low personal shots at some of the fellow hombres. I did'nt understand that.

I have also seen Kendricks Invisible Plane. I timed it and he indeed was moving at about 110 MPH and it seemed to be in perfect control. I knew it was Kendricks because it had an Anarchist Red and Black paint job. OYE KENDRICKS, COMO VA TU CHILANGA? ESTUVE ALLI EL FIN PASADO. QUE MARAVILLA DE CIUDAD.

RE: The wealthiest portion of the population DOES pay the Lions share of the taxes. The mantra that tax cuts benefit the rich is just democrtatic propoganda. It was proven with Kennedy and Reagan that a well planned tax reduction indeed does stimulate the entire economy. But this Bush abortion of a tax cut will do nothing. Bush is turning out to be a protectionist and a big time spender. Kind of disapointing.

And finally, I grew up in a rural area. 13,000 people in a county the size of a smaller eastern state. I believe that driving in Rural areas can be very dangerous. I lost 6 freinds in three separate accidents between 1981-1983. And alchohol was not invloved in any of the accidents. I started thinking about all the people I have known who have died on country roads and it scares the shit out of me. Makes me want to never drive anywhere but TJ. LOL

Analyze This?
Subject: Afghanistan
Dear Friends,

With the recent jirgha loya election of Hamid Karzai and the rapid
construction of a new oil pipeline through Afghanistan to Pakistan,
the following message becomes still more urgent. I am sending this
to everyone whose e-mail address I can get, and I hope you will also
share it with others. Thanks.

Allan Keislar

OIL AND AFGHANISTAN

Is it true that, long before September 11, 2001, military action against
the Taliban had already been planned in order to ensure that an oil
pipeline could be built through Afghanistan? Here is some very
disturbing documentation of this claim (these are excerpts from
www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/02_11_02_lucy.html). For
even more, see www.copvcia.com:

1. 1991-1997 - Major U.S. oil companies including ExxonMobil,
Texaco, Unocal, BP Amoco, Shell and Enron directly invest billions in
cash bribing heads of state in Kazakhstan to secure equity rights in the

huge oil reserves in these regions. The oil companies further commit to
future direct investments in Kazakhstan of $35 billion. Not being
willing to pay exorbitant prices to Russia to use Russian pipelines the
major oil companies have no way to recoup their investments. ["The Price

of Oil," by Seymour Hersh, The New Yorker, July 9, 2001 - The Asia
Times, "The Roving Eye Part I Jan. 26, 2002.]

2. December 4, 1997 - Representatives of the Taliban are invited
guests to the Texas headquarters of Unocal to negotiate their support
for the pipeline. Subsequent reports will indicate that the negotiations

failed, allegedly because the Taliban wanted too much money. [Source:
The BBC, Dec. 4, 1997]

3. February 12, 1998 - Unocal Vice President John J. Maresca -
later to become a Special Ambassador to Afghanistan - testifies before
the House that until a single, unified, friendly government is in place
in Afghanistan the trans-Afghani pipeline needed to monetize the oil
will not be built. [Source: Testimony before the House International
Relations Committee.]

5. April, 1999 - Enron with a $3 billion investment to build an
electrical generating plant at Dabhol India loses access to plentiful
LNG supplies from Qatar to fuel the plant. Its only remaining option to
make the investment profitable is a trans-Afghani gas pipeline to be
built by Unocal from Turkmenistan that would terminate near the Indian
border at the city of Multan. [Source: The Albion Monitor, Feb. 28,
2002.]

12. July, 2001 - Three American officials: Tom Simmons (former U.S.
Ambassador to Pakistan), Karl Inderfurth (former Assistant Secretary of
State for South Asian affairs) and Lee Coldren (former State Department
expert on South Asia), meet with Pakistani and Russian intelligence
officers in Berlin and tell them that the U.S. is planning military
strikes against Afghanistan in October. A French book released in
November, "Bin Laden - La Verite? Interdite," discloses that Taliban
representatives often sat in on the meetings. British papers confirm
that the Pakistani ISI relayed the threats to the Taliban. [Source: The
Guardian, September 22, 2001; the BBC, September 18, 2001.The Inter
Press Service, Nov 16, 2001]

13. Summer, 2001 - The National Security Council convenes a Dabhol
working group as revealed in a series of government e-mails obtained by
The Washington Post and the New York Daily News. [Source: The Albion
Monitor, Feb. 28, 2002]

14. Summer 2001 - According to a Sept. 26 story in Britain's The
Guardian, correspondent David Leigh reported that, "U.S. department of
defense official, Dr. Jeffrey Starr, visited Tajikistan in January. The
Guardian's Felicity Lawrence established that US Rangers were also
training special troops in Kyrgyzstan. There were unconfirmed reports
that Tajik and Uzbek special troops were training in Alaska and
Montana."

17. June 26, 2001 - The magazine indiareacts.com states that "India
and Iran will 'facilitate' US and Russian plans for 'limited military
action' against the Taliban." The story indicates that the fighting will

be done by US and Russian troops with the help of Tajikistan and
Uzbekistan. [Source: indiareacts.com, June 26, 2001.]

25. September 1-10, 2001 - In an exercise, Operation "Swift Sword"
planned for four years, 23, 000 British troops are steaming toward Oman.

Although the 9/11 attacks caused a hiccup in the deployment the massive
operation was implemented as planned. At the same time two U.S. carrier
battle groups arrive on station in the Gulf of Arabia just off the
Pakistani coast. Also at the same time, some 17,000 U.S. troops join
more than 23,000 NATO troops in Egypt for Operation "Bright Star." All
of these forces are in place before the first plane hits the World Trade

Center. [Sources: The Guardian, CNN, FOX, The Observer, International
Law Professor Francis Boyle, the University of Illinois.]

39. October 10, 2001 - The Pakistani newspaper The Frontier Post
reports that U.S. Ambassador Wendy Chamberlain has paid a call on the
Pakistani oil minister. A previously abandoned Unocal pipeline from
Turkmenistan, across Afghanistan, to the Pakistani coast, for the
purpose of selling oil and gas to China, is now back on the table "in
view of recent geopolitical developments."

45. December 25, 2001 - Newly appointed afghani Prime Minister Hamid

Karzai is revealed as being a former paid consultant for Unocal.
[Source: Le Monde.]

46. January 3, 2002 - President Bush appoints Zalamy Khalilzad as a
special envoy to Afghanistan. Khalilzad, a former employee of Unocal,
also wrote op-eds in the Washington Post in 1997 supporting the Taliban
regime. [Source: Pravda, 1/9/02]

50. February 9, 2002 - Pakistani leader General Musharraf and Afghan

leader Hamid Karzai announce their agreement to "cooperate in all
spheres of activity" including the proposed Central Asian pipeline.
Pakistan will give $10 million to Afghanistan to help pay Afghani
government workers. [Source: The Irish Times, 2/9/02]

Boy Ahora. Nothing like going personal on Ben. I hae had the plesure of meeting Ben and find him to be an OK guy. You were once pointed out to me and you aso seemed to be an Ok guy. But after that last attack on Ben, who knows.

What ben does with his life is his business. You might think its fucked up, but it aint really for you to say. I remember you saying that you had kids from three different mothers, and that you just finally married one of the three. I think thats pretty fucked up too. But hey it's your business. Its not for me to criticize what you do. Some people on this board who have met me think that I am fucked up too because I have a steady chilangita and am trying to be monogamous, but I still hang out in the Zona. Every one has their opinion. Opinions in general are cool even if they are adversarial. Personal attacks are not. But thats just my two cents.

Besides I find the SP stories vastly entertaining.LOL

Goddammit Kendricks. Now you are really pissing me off. What the FUCK is your problem? Of course Rayleigh scattering and other optic phenomena influence chromatic perception, as you deftly pointed out. Well, duh. But you have rather feloniously confused "wavelenth" and "color." Wavelength is a physical phenomenon, and falls within domain of physics and the material, physical world. In point of fact, light in general and wavelengths specifically have no inherent color. Colour is a MENTAL phenomenon (and maybe a just neural phenomenon). Color is a subjective construction and inference that has no actual physical basis. And that is the REAL reason the sky (a physical entity) is not blue. Enough of your fucking propaganda on this issue.

Goddammit, Milksquirt. I'm not Sam. I'M NOT SAM. You are simply jealous that I received fan mail from an informed reader on the basketball thread. You FUCKING dairy product.

Ben, you PIMP. I have you all figured out. That whole pregnant sweety-pie thingk is just another stock broker's trick. Buy chica when she's low (pregnant) and sell high (post-partum).

Goddammit, Masterbates. You'd put a 20-something Jane Fonda in jail? She was hot. Cripes, I was in diapers at the time, but I wanted to Fondal her.

Goddammit, Hugh G. Leave Hortencia from MacDonalds out of this. She's a very sweet chica. Have you NO shame?

Beachman, I can't think of anything bad to say about you, but fuck you anyway, you fucking fuck.

Ahora, I'm beginning to think you and I are the only sane ones around here.

Gob Bless America

Anybody remember the tune called "Plastic Jesus"?

I don't care if it rains or freezes
'long as I got my plastic Jesus
glued to the dashboard of my car

Goin' ninety, it ain't scary
'long as I got my Virgin Mary
guaranteeing that I won't go to hell

(etc...)

Yours in fast cars and women.

I think the plastic Jesus song was Janice Joplin. Can't remember it. Try this...

"Your flag decal won't git ya into heaven any more

It's allready over crowded from your dirty little war.

and Jesus don't like killin'no matter what the reason's for

and your flag decal won't git ya into heaven any more

I had my window shield so plastered with flags I
couldn't see

So I ran my car up side a curb smack into a tree

When I got to the pearly gates this is what they said to me...

Your flag decal won't get you into heaven anymore

it's allready over crowded from your dirty little war
And Jesus don't like killin' no matter what the reasons for
and your flag decal won't get ya into heaven anymore......." John Prine

Ahora-

You still won't admit to the holes in your story. Explain to us how your trip through nebraska went from last year to 4 years ago. And how your speeding tickets went from 3 tickets over 110 to one over 110 and one at 93 and one at 95. That is a big change in your story among other things.
