Mark Fiore is great. At the very least, check out "The Republican Games" and "Minister of Fear".

I haven't checked on the Mark Fiore site in a while. He's had a number of cool cartoons since then, one of them being a sequel to the cartoon in the previous post.

Be sure to click the home link and check out some of the clips like "Rumsfeldian" and "Stay-the-Course".

What a bunch of Left- Wing bullshit

By smitopher on Monday, October 30, 2006 - 04:18 pm:  Edit

Hey Scoob

Can you feel the tide changing?

Now popularity and public opinion have little to do with good government but I do feel better that the current Administration has squandered all the "Political Capital" that a 51% to 49% victory margin bought it and will be somewhat neutered.

I hope that we get a group of officials that are more interested in effective government rather that partisan non-government. (I know, silly me...

By Beachman on Monday, October 30, 2006 - 06:43 pm:  Edit

He forgot to put in his cartoon that Hillary Clinton also said that Iraq was harboring members of Al Qaeda and that John Kerry in a campaign speech said that "if you don't think Sadam has weapons of mass destruction, then don't vote for me."

Scooby is right.....left wing bullshit!

Two turds floated up today, Smit, I guess the tides changed downbeach this afternoon.

Cat, Inferring that Scoob and Beachman were turds was just a mean thing to say and totally unfair to turds.

By Arellius on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 - 07:05 am:  Edit

I haven't figured out yet why some people's opinions on this site are turds, and others are not. It seems to be ideologically related.

"If you don't stand for anything, you don't stand for anything! If you don't stand for something, you don't stand for anything!" --George W. Bush, Bellevue Community College, Nov. 2, 2000

By Beachman on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 - 12:29 pm:  Edit

John Kerry.... insulting our troops again! What an arrogant, pompus bastard! His comments may cost the Democrats a chance to regain control of the House! Of course....he blames the GOP for his comments just like most of the Democratic leadership does when the proof is ....that they change their views for polotical gain.

Did you see Letterman make an ass of himself with Bill O'Reilly. Typical Left-wing liberal reaction when they are asked simple questions.....except Letterman does admit he knows nothing!

By Blazers on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 - 03:56 pm:  Edit

For a guy who knows little about politics, I thought it was the first time I have seen Letterman passionate about anything and O'Riley really didn't have an answer for a lot of Letterman's questions.

Everyone knows that Bush's decision to go to Iraq was idiotic but the problem is that we really don't have any kind of solution now that the place is in the middle of a full blown civil war and the warlords and Taliban are taking back power in Afghanistan.

We picked the wrong country. We should have been going after Iran. Now that the Shiite majority is back in power, the Shiite-led Iranians have a new political partner and puppet, similar to Syria and Lebanon(by proxy). The other country we should have invaded was Sudan. It would have taken about a week to kill the janjaweed and put the rebels in power. Whatever happens after that is on them.

My solution? We should get the prosecuting attorney's to strike a deal with Sadam Hussein and put him back in power. The only stipulation would be that we get priority distribution channels of their oil over China. Sadam understood the deep hatred that the rival Muslim factions and tribes had towards one another and knew that the Iranians would only be kept at bay if the Sunni's were in power. He correctly created a non-sectarian State with an iron fist and it worked. The country has now turned into a recruitment depot for future terrorists and a Shiite-led government means Iranian interference. He killed a few too many people to make an example but the only way to make Arabs listen is to scare the shit out of them to the point where they think they will be killed if they dont follow the rules. He knew that, we didn't.

Want to end terrorism for good? Make our country energy independant via the use of ethanol and other forms of alternate energy. If a third world country like Brazil can be 80% energy independant, why cant we? That way, we dont need those miserable fucks in the middle east and they can continue to cut each other's heads off and drink tea until the end of time.

Catocony & smitopher are typical of the libs if you don't agree with them your a turd. But if you say the same thing to them your a rasist or hatefull or what ever. Typical libs running at the mouth without really saying anything.

Guess its easier to kill the messenger than to adress issues like the ones I just mentioned..right Scooby?

It look like Letterman didn't have an answer for O'Reilly. Why did Letterman and most liberals hesitate and cannot answer and dance around when they are asked a simple question.....Do they want the United States to win in Iraq? They all jumped they band wagon in the first few weeks when our troops where kicking ass in Iraq and winning the WAR.

What happened that it has turned into a Police action where we are now playing by to many political rules that no country in the history of mankind has allowed themselves to be handicapped in their objective to accomplish what they have set out to. Do you honestly think any other country in the world (Russia, China, France Germany, etc) has or would be handicapped by playing by political bullshit that allows the enemy to break every moral, religious and every internatitional law and rules of engagement every single day and allow the international community interfere with how they deal with an enemy that does this.

But the international community is not the biggest problem because the power hungry polititions in the United States do more to divide us than anything else and the terrorists and the political leaders in the rest of the world community have so many problems in their countries that the only way they can stay in power is to make the United States look like the problem!

Did you no Chirac is less popular in France than Bush is in the US.

Blazers.....why put Sadam back in power. Why not let our troops use the same IRON FIST Sadam used.

I totally agree with you that the way to end most of the terrorism for good in the future is for not only for the United States to become energy independent, but to create alternatives to make oil and the Middle East basically obsolete in the future. The problem is that everytime the price of oil drops after surging to highs everyone loses their motivation to pursue alternatives to oil. This started with Jimmy Carter with the Oil Embargo in the early 1970's and has continued with every President since both Republicans and Democrats. Not one of them has had the balls to make it a priority!

You seem to be saying we should kill off 1/2 the Iraqi population to accomplish the objective (whatever that may be). I guess you are in favor of indiscriminate killing to accomplish a mission. Thats whats happening now anyway.

And whats the take of the democratically elected Iraqi govt (the govt bush is so proud of) on that one? We were going to be greeted with flowers 3 years ago, now our hands are tied behind our back? What gives?

"Who could have possibly envisioned an erection -- an election in Iraq at this point in history?" --George W. Bush, at the White House, Washington, D.C., Jan. 10, 2005

By Arellius on Wednesday, November 01, 2006 - 05:07 am:  Edit

There are no easy answers in Iraq. Parts of it are a complete mess and it depresses me that we lose another solider or two every day now. Iraq was a mistake based on bad intelligience, but installing Saddam back in power is not the answer. The entire world has a stake in that country being stabilized (relatively speaking) whether they want to recognize that fact or not.

Letterman ... he embarasses himself every time he opens his mouth about geo-political events because there's no depth to his opinions. It's just emotion.

Kerry.... I could say he embarrasses himself every time he opens his mouth too, but that would be too easy. Actually, I take him at his word that he simply botched a joke, albeit a bad one, but how many times does this guy have to step in it. Given his history of talking about troops, should he even be approaching ths subject from any angle? I have had to deal with that pompous asshole as a Senator for more than I care to remember. He is simply a terrible politician outside of Massachusetts.

By Beachman on Wednesday, November 01, 2006 - 05:07 am:  Edit

War is War and if you think for a minute we would have won World War 2 under the rules of engagement that are imposed by a useless United Nations that has caused the United States to suffer huge losses in Korea, Vietnam and now Iraq. Since the creation of the United Nations at the end of World War the United States has been handicapped by playing by the rules and international laws 99+% of the time while our enemies could care less about international law.
The United Nations is as useless as the League of Nations was and the United States Senate had the foresight and the sense not to joinafter World War 1. The League of Nations after World War 1 pacified and appeased Germany and ignored threat of Nazism movement before it was to late. The Un always depends on the US miltary to bail it out of it operations when the UN chooses to confront a situation that needs military action. Of course the majority of the time the UN fails to even be concern....just look at the continent of Africa with all the slavery, stavation, etc and now Africa is becoming a haven for fantic islam terrorists. Now....will history repeat itself with the fantic muslims and their movement around the world....not just Iraq.
The only thing the Musilm fanatics understand is brute force and the masses of Musilms who subject themselves to them will obey and follow who they fear the most. And the Muslim religion is based on alot of who controls with fear! The colonial powers (England, France) knew this and they controled the Middle East with fear....where the masses of people fear what they faced if they did not obide by laws which were imposed on them by the colonial goverments.

Arellius said: "I haven't figured out yet why some people's opinions on this site are turds, and others are not. It seems to be ideologically related."

You are relatively new, so it's not surprising that you wouldn't know this, but Beachman is a special(education) case whose idiotic ranting makes him particular deserving of ridicule. He's now been around for at least 5 1/2 years without posting much of significance. Click on his username to see that his 73 posts for the past year are ALL Off-Topic.

If you click on many of the profiles that Beachman rants against, you'll see a fair number of excellent reporters and other contributors that understand what CH is about. (I would also include you and AZGuy in a list of on-topic reporters). For the rest of us, CH is to talk about sex and travel with the occasional veering off into politics. Sometimes the discussion gets a little heated, but at the end of the day (or week or whatever) we get back to our shared love of hobbying. Beachman is 100% off-topic, mostly angry rants. I'm sure most of us could hang out together and have a blast discussing sex and such, Beachman is the type that would stumble along ranting about how liberals are resposible for his bad sessions. Fortunately, we probably won't ever have to worry about that happening since Beachman appears to lack the balls to travel.

I don't know much about Scooby but at least he posted a guide and is on-topic. I did find a few things odd, though. His claim of having Homeland Security agents visit his home after his first trip was weird, especially considering there are so many long-time reporters here that haven't had anything even closely resemble that happen. There also appeared to be some controversy on another site about him reposting someone else's report from here on the other site without permission.

But to get back on topic, Fiore posted a new animation that even includes a shot at Democratic candidates. (Warning to Republican extremists: Bush is also targeted, don't watch if you're off your meds.)

P.S. I have never called anyone a "rasist" [sic], nor have I said anyone was "hatefull" [sic].

By Arellius on Thursday, November 02, 2006 - 05:20 am:  Edit

Yes, so I've read, and I've already referred Beachman to another site devoted exclusively to politics. I have no idea why he is on a site like this just to talk about politics. But I also think that a lot of the attacks against him are ideologically related, not because of the lack of sex topics he's participated in. If he was posting something about blaming everything on Bush, I doubt any of the usual suspects would say he laid another turd.

Regarding the recent cartoon, as it implies, it would be nice if people actually knew what they were voting for when they vote Democratic.

It is easy to get sucked into the political topics on here. I just got worn out with it. I am not sticking up for beachman, but it does seem like it is ok to express your opinions as long as you are on the left side of the discussion. Way too negative for me. I know that at some point I will, and I hope I do, run into many of the board members here. Getting into it over politics isnt worth it. That is not why I am here. We are not going to change anything on this board. I am not sure why each cant respect the others opinions and not get into name calling, but that is just the way it is. Its like when you go to your family's house for thanksgiving, its best to stay away from some topics. Although when I go this year maybe I will bring up how I think prostitution, marijuana, gambling and same sex marriage should be legal. I wonder how that would go?

After meeting Whitty in Rio, we went to Colombia. We dont see eye to eye on politics and I dont think it effected our trip one bit. We had a blast. It came up a few times especially when we got into a discussion with some college kids in MDE. It was a fun conversation and it was left as that. I look forward to many trips with Whitty.

OK, back to talking about pussy. AZ
