Having now studied Pimsleur's Spanish, Portuguese and German, I find it very interesting that these three words seem to all be the same or very close to one another in all four languages. I don't know much about the history of languages and which had influence over the other, but it does appear that when they got together to make another language they wanted to make sure they knew where they could screw and eat.

At one time, German was considered as the national language of the usa. Go figure.
