Do you rescue or fall in love with "working girls"? Apparently --clicking around the "relationships" topic here-- a few of us have gone off the deep end.
I've occasionally had a monogamous intimate relationship for the duration of a trip and then come home with some warm feeling inside, but on my last trip to Thailand I got into a desperate situation where I was doing anything to hold on to the relationship. Someone accused me of having "emotional problems" and in that case I had to admit it. I had also been in situations, with both working girls and "regular" girls, where they were busted up inside trying to hold on to the relationship with me --that's no fun either.
Last year I found a short, excellent book, Adult Children of Alcoholics by J.G. Woititz. It's for you if you identify with "The Problem" that affects one in ten Americans:

Just reading it has improved my relationships including those at work, and my succe$$.
Not trying to fix anybody else here and I'm certainly not suggesting that we make this a forum for recovery or self-improvement (that would be a disaster). But as far as I'm concerned this site is about enjoyment and experiencing the best life has to offer. It's with that in mind that I post this, in case it can help someone else to that end.
