One of the most overhyped, boring, useless movies ever made.
Having the name actors in this film were totally unnecessary in thier roles and a waste of money.
The only thing the names did was con people coming into seeing a movie that is a total waste of time and only had a few moments of interest.
Jessica Alba looked hot but was in such a small role and added littel value to the character.
This could have been and should have been made as a low budget student film.
Little suspense or excitement.
Glad it was in B and W for the gore scenes.
Mickey Rourke’s sub plot was confusing and totally a waste of time and not necessary for the overall plot.

Sorry my spelling in the title is as horrific as the movie was and no way to edit it.

Hmmm, very interesting. The previews make the flick look spectacular. I learned a few days ago that most of the actors in the movie had never even met each other until after the filming had finished. Most of the set was basically a blue screen (or whateverthehell color they're using now) and the pieces put together in editing.

I thought it was an excellent movie.

Wombat88,
THe Ad campaign was great. I was very excited about seeing it and I skipped a party to see a screening of it .
Maybe it was just so hyped that it fell way short of my expectations.
I saw many movies last year as I was on the SAG Awards nominating committee.
They were all better than Sin City. However I missed Life Aquatic which I was told was terrible. I will watch it on DVD and see how bad it was.
Even the other bad movies last year were at least entertaining.
I really struggled during the first half of Sin City to stay in the theater.
Let's put it this way I was in the DGA theater in La with 90% Industry people.
It received a very low small clap at the end vs thunderous applause after other movies.
The talk I heard going out was not positive on the whole.
EVen Woody Allen's Melinda Melinda got much more applause and positive after chatter.
Of course the La Film Society crowd loves Woody Allen
Sin City was just boring and little suspense.
I have not read any reviews but with the popular Star power in it I don't think they would ream it.

Thoroughly enjoyed Life Aquatic, but it's definitely NOT for everyone. I'm planning on buying it as soon as it hits the shelves.

Out of the 40 plus movies they sent out as screeners. Life Aquatic happens to be the one I received two copies of, so I hope it is good as I'll have a backup if it gets damaged.

Gotta totally disagree with the negatives. The movie was entertaining and funny. My daughter, (15), loved it and I will be taking my wife today to see it. Life Aquatic was the movie that I felt was a waste of time. IMHO, as always,
Have a Great Day,
Dave

I just gotta know if it was better or worse than Resident Evil 2. I was squirming in my seat for the first twenty minutes, hoping to god that it might just turn out to be just a bad movie. It turned out to be be truly awful and I walked out. First time in years.

Wombat88,
I did not see Resident EVil2 but I would believe that Sin City is better.
I have met people recently who like it.
I did not and was bored off my ass.
May just have been the case of not living up to much anticipated hype and excitement about seeing it.
