A Marine squad was patrolling a stretch of road when they found an insurgent soldier badly injured and unconscious. On the opposite side of the road was a Marine also badly injured but conscious. As the squad treated both men, they asked the lone Marine what happened.
“I got separated from my unit and was heading back along this road when I spotted an armed insurgent. We both dove for cover in the ditches on either side of the road. I couldn’t see him so I yelled over something about Saddam Hussein being a miserable low-life scumbag. He yelled back something about Bush being a rich, power hungry, good-for-nothing.
“A minute later we were standing on the road shaking hands when a truck hit us.”
