Does anyone know of any (preferably undetectable) software programs which record timestamps of computer log ons--strictly for home PC use?
Also, how hard is it to hack around an administrator's Windows XP logon password?

In XP or 2000
Log on with administrative privileges, then click Start, Run, type gpedit.msc, click OK.
Now you should have the Group policy plugin.
Go to Computer Configuration, Windows Settings, Local Policy, Audit Policy and there you will find all of your security auditing policies. You can log just about anything and everything. (view logs in event viewer) You can also set all kinds of other security policies in the Group policy plugin.
Properly set up..... XP or 2000 logon is actually quite secure against all but the most sophisticated users. The problem is that security is NOT properly set up out of the box from Microsoft.
