"Cheney Accidentally Shoots Fellow Hunter"

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060212/ap_on_go_pr_wh/cheney_hunting_accident;_ylt=AnY8aMSeYwIpdwJXOG4xZyxg.3QA;_ylu=X3oDMTA3b2NibDltBHNlYwM3MTY-

I'm sure Texas' finest breathalyzed the VP after the "accident"...

Also, why wasn't it reported by Cheney's staff until after the local press reported the story?

Of course nothing will happen over this, just as nothing will happen over the CIA leak scandal.

Let's hear it for gun control. Just kidding. The article made it clear that it was just a screw up among some good ol' boys. Nothing to get upset about.

Except what was the man, who is one heartbeat away from the Presidency, doing walking around a ranch in Texas with a loaded shotgun that he obviously doesn't know how to use properly, with live ammo, blasting away?

To bad he didn't accidentily shoot himself in the head or something.

Well it seems that few of you have been bird hunting before.

The guy went in from of the VP to get a bird and didn't announce what he was doing. He stepped out of the line and into the fire zone.

Of course getting shot with bird shot is like getting shot with mustard seed, so I doubt he will be in the hospital more than a day or so.

And I'd rather the VP be caring aournd a load shotgun than wearing womens underwear while his butch wife spanks him.

At the very least this will provide some really good fodder for Jay Leno and others;)

It's really no big deal.....After all the guy that got shot was a lawyer.

I would substitute "Republican" for "lawyer" in the above post.

Not me. Washington DC would be a more interesting place if Cheney wore women's underwear. Maybe the Administration would be a little more tolerant of deviants like us!

I think he was trying to send a message to Cindy Sheehan: keep out of my sight, bitch.

It is amazing how the press can make a nothing thing into a big fucking deal. It just goes to show you how little people know about guns and hunting. Besides, like RG said, it was just a lawyer. I wonder if he is a PI? AZ

The VP shooting somebody is a pretty big deal. Failing to report it to the press is an even bigger deal. Violating covert agents' confidentiality to silence dissent over a clusterfuck war is an even BIGGER deal, but as we all know, Cheney's above the law.

>The VP shooting somebody is a pretty big deal

Well, of course it's going to get press coverage. But last time I checked accidents (unless due to criminal negligence) aren't illegal.

>Failing to report it to the press

Huh? Now there's a law that says you have to report stuff to the press? Sure they had an obligation to report a shooting to law enforcement, but the press? Nobody had any obligation to tell them jack.

Now that whole war thing warrants a thread (no, make that a complete discussion board) all its own. And then there's comrade Bush and his illegal (according to the American Bar Association) wiretap orders. Any leader who's megalomaniac enough to ignore the Constitution because he thinks Congress has given him power to do whatever he wants is dangerous. The fact that we seem to be letting him get away with it is FAR more troubling.

"But sir! What about the peasants?"

"Fuck the peasants. Pull!"

"Ahhhhhh...."

BLAM!

Let us hope that Cheney takes Bush on a hunting trip real soon.
