Recorded it off the beat, sirius channel 36 in my rental car. The rental car didn't have the tuner that displayed the title and artist. If anyone knows the title and artist of this song, I woudl appreciate it.

Thanks.

Oh, the sound quality is a little poor because I used my Nokia N70's built in voice recorder and I had this song pumped up in the car.

I figured if I recorded a portion of it I could play it later for someone who might know.

Hope there are some Rhythmic Top 40 fans on CH.

It's a wonder I get anything accomplised with all the fluff I carry around in my head. While I can't answer your question, I might point you and others in the right direction.

Radio stations maintain playlists. Contact them with the day and approximate time you were listening and they'll give you the list of songs. Somewhere, and don't remember where, there's a website that'll do this.

A few years back, when Napster was the greatest threat to humanity, some company came up with a digital fingerprinting software. Play a song, even one badly recorded or heavily modified, and it would compare it to a database of songs and tell you who recorded it (even differentiating between the hundreds of artists who've performed classics and standards). The thing actually worked, but I've heard no news about the product in three or four years.

MIT is coming up with a piece of software that will listen to you hum a tune and it will figure out the name of the song. I seem to recall that it's designed to work through a cell phone.

Of course, no system is better than your buddy who says "Dude, I just bought that album!"

Don't know the name of the "tune," and don't want to know it. LOL

Well I found it.

It was a remake of the Gorillaz song, Dare.

Thanks Wombat88.

Now LaGuy. Are you SURE you don't want to go out and buy it now? Don't you like the Gorillaz?
