You gonna take that kind of abuse son ??
Guess he doesn't want to be your buddy .
Now there's a fresh new video . I'm not sure I have ever heard that song before.
Lame video with farang girls poorly made up to look Asian.
Stick it wherever you like ...

Innocent, are you coming out of monger retirement anytime soon?
| By Innocent on Thursday, January 11, 2007 - 08:35 am: Edit |
I don't know what it is about this tune but it really sends me out there.
Of course when I lived in NYC in the early 80's I had part of Blondie's "Call Me" as my greeting on my answering machine.
Loved doing all those punker and "New Wave" chics down in the East Village. Purple mohawks and heavy make up. Those were the days.
And yes I did notice the farang chics made up as Asians. I saw it as an artistic statement, not an attempt to fool anyone.
There were four other versions of this music video on utube that were even more surrealistic.
Recently got back from one month in Thailand. Spent two weeks in Pattaya.
I think I'm back... ;)

Epi,
Not sure about the best dancer but certainly indicative of what you will see there...LOL;
KM-One Night in Bankok-Old song remade by Chess.
Surely someone on the board with more time on their their hands than us will identify the origial group that performed it.
I did like the original song though....

I thought Murray Head was the original performer. The song is part of a musical called Chess, and I know he sang a lot of the soundtrack.

Sandman- You of all people not recognizing satire ? Oh the humanity !!
After 25 years of hanging in Go Go bars in Thailand do you really think I have never heard that song ?? Back in the day you heard it about every 20 minutes in almost every bar. Still overplay it now.
Murray Head did indeed do the original hit single . I have no idea who the original lead in the London version of Chess was . That was where the song was first heard.

The Murray Head song was composed and written by Benny Anderson, Tim Rice, Bjsrn Ulvaeus, performed by Murray Head, and is from the musical Chess.
There is also a bootleg copy of a CD One Night In Bangkok that is supposedly by DJ Shadow:

The Vinylshakerz version of the song is pretty cool, I think.

Pretty interesting that two members of Abba along with Tim Rice wrote this song.
