Never thought I'd be reading something like "The roads to Cankaya (the presidential palace) are closed to imams" from a predominantly Muslim country. Looks like a LOT of Turks (including their military) are very determined that no religious right-winger take over the Turkish presidency: http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/04/29/turkey.election/index.html

And the EU comes out in support of...letting religious extremists take power if they're voted in . While usually I'm all for "let the people decide", I do have to wonder - have those guys been keeping up on current events?
