I received this questionnaire in the mail today. It was from the Republican National Committee. They ask you to answer the questions by checking a Yes, No or Undecided box.

Unfortunately they neglected to provide a section for written comments. Here is the questionnaire YOUR comments and answers are welcome.

HOMELAND SECURITY ISSUES

1. Should Republicans do everything they can to prevent liberal Democrats from repealing the USA Patriot Act and other important laws that help our intelligence agencies protect America?

3. Do you support the use of force against any country that offers safe harbor of aid to individuals or organizations committed to further attacks on America?

4. Should we do everything we can to stop Democrats from weakening border security?

SOCIAL ISSUES

1. Do you think Congress should pass the Federal Marriage Amendment, protecting marriage as a union between one man and one woman?

DEFENSE ISSUES

1. Do you think U.S. troops should have to serve under United Nations' commanders?

That is the most blatant PUSH POLL that I have seen yet!

I get a lot of polls from the Democratic National, Sentarial and Congressionsl committees that ask similar questions without trying to demonize the republicans in every question.

That is the difference between herding sheep and herding cats.

You left out the last question:

LOGISTICAL ISSUES:

1. Will you be available help us board the non-believers onto the trains once we've rounded them all up and stripped the last of their freedoms?

The current saying at DNC is that "Democrats want to fall in love with candidates, Republicans want to fall in line with candidates". Smarmy, but it is the truth. It explains how smaller numbers of Republicans win elections when competing against greater numbers of non-Republicans. Of course it also explains how Democrats pull defeat from the jaws of victory by continueosly nominating the one candidate out of five who can't win, but that's a different discussion.

This push poll is a great example of fear mongering, though I've seen and heard much worse ones. Republican candidates feed on fear and feed fear to the more-and-more clueless Republican base.

A large majority of Republicans probably literally, truly feel that if Gore had been taken the Presidency in 2000 that Muslim terrorists would have taken over the US by now, or that there would be forced abortions or mandatory gayness or all the prisons would be shut down and convicts roaming the countryside, preying on white women and burning churches and whatnot. Sounds stupid but it's what they believe in, since they have nothing else to believe in.
