When I travel internationally I often end up in hotels that charge $15 to $20 per day for broadband access. Since I need to use my laptop for business, and need a connection pretty much all the time, I end up paying these prices although would love to find an alternative.
I have noted that for about $60 a month, one can access the internet from anywhere in the U.S. that is covered by the Sprint network using a mobile internet card. On one of their websites Sprint has posted that roaming charges MAY apply should one connect internationally although I have been unable to find a price schedule. Anyone have any idea about what the charges would be in places like Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo, assuming there is a network there that can be accessed using the Sprint program? Or if you have any alternative ideas, please share them (keeping in mind though I need to have internet access from my hotel room).

Have U checked out Boingo.com. Worldwide hotspot for low monthly subscription. They have many Hotels - 16695 places for hotspots.I used to subscribe in the past but have now found that most hotels I go to often have wifi. I've had luck using their hotspots in Asia, connections are YMMV but usually able to log on.

I have had the sprint wireless broadband for about a year now and am very pleased with the speed and flexibility. It also happens to be the only system short of satellite that works in the rural area where I live.
It is great as long as you are in the EVDO Rev A service area, but degrades to dial up modem speeds when it connects to the voice network.
I cannot comment on international roaming since I have only used it in CONUS so far.
